I think many TH-camrs worry about losing their audience's attention. You are right! Connecting with your audience is very important! I also love the way you mentioned the importance of asking many people with important questions. No one could fully know the needs and desires of their audience without asking.

Having an emotional wound of feeling like people are ignoring me, I constantly switch to stories instead of adhering just to principles. It helps make the principles sticky. I've learned how quickly the brain checks out so it has to be short and to the point, mainly one point!

WOnderful Tips! Thank you Raiz. It's true that so many speakers are so planned out that they completely lose that connection with the audience, it really is a monologue a lot of the time!

After hearing what you share, it seems so intuitive, so natural.
The idea of reaching out to at least five people that will be in attendance is something I will start practicing.

Love this video! And yup, you've totally pinpointed my fears about any talk/ presentation I give too: that the audience will zone out. Learning how to read the room and hold people's attentions in a real-event is one thing, but it's quite different in a virtual/ online setting when most webinar-type settings are only in speaker view, or you're only limited to the first page of faces on a Zoom call. Would love to hear your thoughts in future videos on "how to read the room" in a virtual setting. eg. some have done this well by encouraging questions in the chat box or engaging the audience by asking for thumbs up's. Would love to hear how else you'd engage a virtual audience in a webinar type setting too. Thanks! PS. love your content, new sub!

This is terrific feedback. Your ideas on the questions are definitely helpful. Will dedicate an upcoming video to answering 'read the virtual room' and let you know when it's ready for u :)
