      first, congrarulations. second; did i hear a ring mod in a polysynth? imo thew ringmod in polysynthsa is not implemented enough... now, make shure 8 keys get proper ring settings, i believe it might not be that easy to biasd 8 M's to sound together in accordance with kbcv....

    Thanks Matt. You were a primary inspiration for me making the e7 my next piece of analog kit and I couldn't be more happy! I'm using it with my Osmose atop a Crumar Seven digital piano running through a Boss RE 202 Space Echo pedal and between them, I'm in heaven (specifically, 1978 heaven.) Vibes for days and days. This thing 'out-analogs' my Prophet Rev 2 and my Moog Sub 25 put together. "Characterful" is the proper non-word for this little beastie. Your patches are absolute 🔥🔥🔥 and you GAVE them all away. What a legend!

  • @Behnan
    @Behnan 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    this character thing you mentioned I absolutely agree. The GS7 sound is what I normally think of when I talk about the "analog" sound.
    But Matt: I would LOVE to see and hear a comparison between the character of GS7 and Nina. I love the Nina architecture, but somehow, so many sound examples on yt haven't that mojo-factor like the GS7 - it seems like a GS7 is like a Moog (sounds good whatever you do) and on Nina you have to work on it to find the sweetspot of a sound...

    • @GizzyDillespee
      @GizzyDillespee 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Does one go bettet with the Vintage Vibe, and one with the Montage? They both seem to blend as far as color, on the screen at least... but I mean the sound. Some people who owned Nina have said it gets hot. Maybe that one's better for cooler months and air conditioned studios?

    • @user-kx5fs9jy1g
      @user-kx5fs9jy1g 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you care about a random's opinion at all, I owned both the e7 and Nina. I kept the e7 and sold the Nina because I was so let down by its sound--I really hate the filter on it. The motorized controls were cool, but it didn't matter because I kept going to my e7 or Waldorf Iridium instead.

    • @Behnan
      @Behnan 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-kx5fs9jy1g there is nothing more annoying when the synthsound is in a soundbubble which sounds "not good" (however you feel that) in the first place and you can't escape from it, no matter which knobs you turn :))) 2 days with that experience and I am out ...

    What a remarkable instrument, in the hands of a skilled keyboardist and sound designer! It really sounds uncompromisingly "organic", i.e. it is artificial yet it reacts as an acoustic instrument. Kudos to this clever Argentinian bunch of developers, and - once in a while - what a beautiful light blue livery with white knobs! My favourite colour, shared by the stylish UDO underneath, and I guess/hope not exclusively chosen for national reasons ;-)

    My e7 stands its ground in a rack with an OB-X8m and P6m. They complement each other extremely well. Where the Oberheim/Sequential synths require the vintage knob to really sound - well - vintage, the e7 doesn‘t need one. It is, as someone put it elsewhere, the most vintage sounding synth on the market. And IMO it has by far more Memorymoog vibes than the Trigon-6.

    Now that Perfect Circuit is distributing it in the USA I'm tempted to replace my OB6 with this. What do you think - can it cover OB6 territory? I found OB6 a bit limiting in modulation capability and like the voice split options here - enough to give up the famous sweep-able filter. How are the knobs? Solid or wobbly? Hardware feel is important IMO.

  • @Unison_Detune
    @Unison_Detune 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My opinions tend to be quite binary. Things are either good or bad. I appreciate and love analog synths and some popular modern analogs haven’t met my expectations bearing in mind the pedigree of the manufacturer. In chasing the sound I’ve followed heroic synthesist’s leads and bought vintage gear and although it sounds exquisite finding the tech support is proving a no-go where I am. It’s great until it isn’t and then you have a problem on your hands. Cue GS synths. I’ve chatted via email with Guido and I love the ES-7. I will love his future releases too. Why go vintage Roland when a modern GS synth sounds as good with modern MIDI compatibility and reliability. Give the big US brands a swerve please. Argentina has an amazing new company producing sounds of yesteryear without the negatives. GS synths - allowing analog to breathe xx
