    The mod I can't live without is the skull cavern elevator. I've driven myself crazy enough times trying to make it to floor 100 in a mad dash that the elevator is so worth it. And then for the rest of the game I can have fun mining on floor 300

      @@kidbrown96 How exactly is fish "largely debatable" when it comes to vegetarian diet?? Pescatarian =/= Vegetarian

    • @kidbrown96
      @kidbrown96 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Mrsircuddlesworth You're right. I misread the tone of the question and tried to make a point that fish isn't consistently considered as meat so there's wiggle room. I somehow forgot there was a term for those that eat fish and whatnot instead of land based critters.

    • @Kidneyjoe42
      @Kidneyjoe42 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@Mrsircuddlesworth While it doesn't really make sense, the status of fish as meat has absolutely been debatable throughout history. You can label it pescatarian instead of vegetarian but that doesn't change the fact that adherents of multiple religions, when faced with prohibitions against eating meat, proceeded to eat fish "instead". And stardew valley and games like it are examples of how this inclination people have to view killing and eating fish as somehow different from doing the same to terrestrial animals has continued into the modern day.
      Having killed and eaten both fish and chickens, I don't personally get it. The experiences are pretty similar to me. But it would be silly to ignore that quite a few people, both past and present, do actually see fish meat as somehow not the same as other animals' meat.

    • @KarmaCifer

      This mod is my life, I can just put a machine besides a chest, add coal and ores or bait or fruit and it will process automatically. I am kinda conflicted about this mod, since doing things is what this game is all about,l. But, on the other hand, having only 2 mayo machines that run the whole day instead of 12 that run only for one operation is great. Maybe, this game needs an extractor that can pull out ready products. This could also make trash recycler good.

    I don't exactly disagree with any of these mod load outs however I would personally suggest adding CJB Cheats to slightly buff up move speed at all times. And Timespeed mod to give yourself a little bit of extra time per in game day. If your adding in mods like Stardew Expanded etc. Your going to need that speed and time to keep up with tons of new content and NPCS. Just my opinion those are quality of life mods I can't do without. Oh and Zoomlevel I think it's called? But I could be wrong.
    So CJB Cheats for maybe 3-5 move speed buff.
    Timespeed give yourself at least extra 20% time per day.
    Zoomlevel so you can zoom out a little further.
    And then use any of the suggested mod sets in this video. This is my opinion only.

    One thing I’ve GOT TO make sure y’all get: magic mod can get VERY OP very fast, especially if you have a prestige mod like Walk of Life. Magic Missile being called a “weak, heat-seeking missile” is a joke, because in reality it’s pm a low-cost one-shot for most enemies in the game, and at most a 2-shot for the vast majority of enemies you will ever face at level 10 combat (there are 1 or 2 enemies in expansions like Ridgeside that will take more than this, but that doesn’t include the fact that this & many other spells are extremely spammable). If you’re using Magic Mod, just be aware that you should *probably* do your own balancing beforehand & try to see if you can tweak mana costs on your own before the game essentially gives you a free out to any situation.

    This guide is too late for me. lol
    A friend dragged me to play Stardew Valley mod with him.
    He installs:
    -Stardew Valley Expanded
    -Ridgeside Village
    -East Scarp
    -Stardew Aquarium
    -Walk to Desert
    and a lot more I don't remember.
    So my first impression is I feel overwhelmed.
    The first quest told me to introduce myself to over a hundred people.
    I never feel like I have time to get anything done, and the fact time always moves even in situations where it would stop in the single player.
    Want to read random events with NPC dialogs? Too bad, it's already 2 AM and you'll pass out the moment that cutscene ends.
    We installed Multiplayer time mod but there was a problem connecting that we spent 3 hours before we could start playing. So we uninstalled it.
    He didn't stop at 100 mods of his either, occasionally he added a few more.
    Eventually, it came to the point where I couldn't even play on his server for 5 minutes before lagging out and disconnected.
    So I stopped playing with him.
    Nowadays I play Stardew Valley mostly vanilla with only portrait mods. My friend said he can't live without mods.
    I will probably play modded again after 1.6 comes out and all major mods are updated.

    personally i definitely don't recommend climates of ferngill. the fog can get so dense at parts it's very hard to play the game.

    Ppja / artisan valley are some of the best mods for Stardew valley, also lookup anything is an essential mod for a heavily modded run imo

    you could easily add diverse stardew valley to the light mod set, especially since im pretty sure its compatible with stardew valley expanded

    The way I lit up seeing that cooking mod!! Oh my gosh!! How have I never seen that before?!?
    Edit: AND THE WEATHER MOD?? Clearly I've only been into light modding before and it's time for me to step up. :P

    definitely not yet interested in expanded or really any visual mods (yet, at least) but having fun with the basically cheating chests anywhere/ convenient chests mods as well as UI suit 2, upgrades for things that aren't upgradable (pan, bucket, sheers) and a few bits and pieces I've picked up from this video and elsewhere... It's actually so great.
    Better ranching, spring in the bat/mushroom cave...
    Choosing stuff that helps you with annoying challenges... while making sure not to trivialise too much (at least, not quickly) at the same time.
    I have my switch for non-mods. But I freely admit to going crazy with them!

    Yeah, 100% agree that Illit sound just like NewJeans. I can definitely see them bought performing and owning this song. Its hypocrisy of some people to denie the similarities, when a few months ago they were throwing BabyMonster under the bus for the similarities with BlackPink on BatterUp

    Does the tractor use energy or supplies, it looks like it took a lot of the later game stuff purposes away, like how the upgraded watering can and hoe can work on a big plot of land at once.

    I'm waiting for the mod update that's apparently coming our way to try out any of the more elaborate mods, cause I have tried and failed to install things like stardew expanded, cause there's just so many different files needed, I keep messing it up. for now I'm gonna stick to the quality of life mods, but I can't wait to check out all the bigger ones eventually

    Hey Sal,
    Thank you for all the detailed and lovely tutorials on so many SDV topics! I finally got SDV on PC and am looking forward to try out my first ever modded game.
    But one question still remains:
    If I start right of with all mods from the light AND the medium package (and add a couple more from your other videos) will my laptop survive that? How many mods can you add into one save file before it crashes?

    I was considering getting the the tractor mod even though tractors and medieval aesthetics don't go together at all, just because the tractor seemed useful... then you mentioned the magic mod ❤

  • @pokefan213
    @pokefan213 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    "the tractor does not destroy trees unfortunately"
    generic mod configuration fixes that. lets you configure all your mods- that are compatible with this one- in-game, aka making it so Tractor CAN destroy trees for example.

    I just recently started playing again, I got discouraged missing only 2 items for the museum back in April 2017, and the achievements I was missing were Prairie King, Fector's Challenge, Mystery of the Stardrops, Legend, and A complete collection. Upon return wow a lot has been added, and I managed to finish up both Complete collection and Mystery of the stardrops in a few hours (especially thanks to the addition of secret notes/journal scraps). Being back in the game I've been watching a lot of stardew content while I play.
    Until I saw the heavy category also included stardew expanded and then several other decent sized mods, I was surprised seeing it listed at only a medium. Once I get those 2 prairie king related achievements I think I'll move on to modded games, and I'll be using some of your suggestions from this video, as well as trying out stuff from your other videos.

    I tried downloading the Stardew valley expansion mod but some of the required mods don't work, which is probably the reason why the mod itself doesn't do anything. What should I do now? If I open the game Smapi lists all of your mods right? some of the required mods turn yellow and it sais that they'll break after the next Smapi update. help pls TvT

    Question: Can I use a mod to a previous save I have? Like can I just continue my previous save but with a mod or do I have to start all over again?

    • @salmence100
      @salmence100  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can! Although some more complicated mods, like Stardew Valley Expanded, are intended for new save files, so some things might be a little odd

    Hi! I'm very new to modding and I've only got a million questons lol. I've downloaded all the framework mods and the mods themselves for SVE, Ridge Side Village and a cheat menu and I want a few more. I'm afraid of adding mods even though it seems like a non-issue tbh, it seems like you can switch them pretty freely. So I guess my question is how safe is it to mess with mods and how will it affect my game long-term? I spent years on consoles and have very little computer knowledge outside of web browsing so all this stuff (files, configs etc) is a little daunting to me right now, but the tractor magic and chicken meat wanding other side looks too inviting to ignore.

      That would be Stardew Valley Expanded, it changes up the decorations of pretty much every place in the game, some slightly, some heavily
