It's like Konami WANTS to kill itself by getting rid of their only useful person. Literally how stupid do you have to be to get rid of the person that would make two games (phantom pain and *sniff* silent hills) that would clearly be in the lists of everyone's top 10 games of the year, but wait. How about he fuck everyone by not releasing them, and fuck ourselves by getting rid of the guy that is doing the only useful thing in our company? It's mind-blowing. It's inhumane.
Benjamin Reder Literally the only reason they're still around is because of "Yu-Gi-Oh!", which has already been dying slowly over the years. The practices they do for the card game don't help either, and if anything looses more players than gains them. I expect by mid-to-late 2017 that Konami will completely crash if they continue in the same direction. You can only fuck up so many times without harsh consequences.
boaz helton There's Sonic 06, so maybe they're trying to make it as if that's the worst Sonic game. But in my opinion, I disagree. The reason Sonic 06 failed was only because it was rushed for Christmas because well, presents. Sonic Boom is worse because it's not as funny bad as Sonic 06 and it had more time to be made.
*"They removed all negative reviews and started issuing copyright claims against TH-cam videos that showed how bad the game is."* That sounds strangely familiar. Where have I heard that before?
Day One: Garry's Incident is really, really bad. Day One: Garry's Incident is really, really bad. Day One: Garry's Incident is really, really bad. And I want to kill myself.
dotz71000 more than just overrated. The hype was there but it was dissapointing as hell. I played the beta and it was awesome. But when i got the full game, it was just awfully disappointing. UGH
The "social features" barely even had any social functions. How is waving or pointing to someone a social feature? That aside, I'm actually complaining about the game in terms of gameplay and content
You forgot "Depression Quest", considering the high scores it received from the games journalists it shouldn't count as "an easy target", which you excluded.
The game I thought was the worst one this year was Five Nights at Freddy's. The gameplay was boring, the only scares were just cheap jumpscares, and the story was stupid. A ton of people told me to look up the "actual" story, and I still think it's stupid. Besides, I shouldn't have to look at the scenery of a game to know the "true" story the game is telling me, rather than the stupid one the guy on the phone was telling me (that place would not be open after an animatronic gave a kid brain damage). It's just the flavor of the month indie horror game, that will be popular for a while, with let's players making videos of it, acting way more scared than they actually are, calling the video "scariest game ever OMG", and then forgetting about it when the next flavor of the month indie horror game comes out.
Well but how much did you pay for it? It isnt scary after all and somehow many youtubers did lets plays and act like payed advertisers (Pwediepie is cancer to youtube). And if you dont want to look at the scenery of a game to understand its real purpose and potentional depth, I'm really sorry for you. Many games require that ability in sort of storytelling.
To you, it was one of the worst, but to a lot of people it was great fun. Tell me, have you played it? There's quite the difference between playing it and watching it. Yes, the jump scares are kinda cheep, but if you know what you're doing, you can avoid them. All of them. Its not a game you can go into without preparation and expect to not be jump scared, especially if you don't know what your doing. But, its all about opinion. Peace out.
I'm going to be honest, I was tempted to put that game on my worst of list, but I couldn't. Yeah that sort of game isn't for me but there are some things I did like. I liked it when it was tense, I thought the aesthetic was well done, and I liked the minimal point and click design. It was ruined by people calling it the scariest game ever, and then I tell them to play I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, or Spec Ops: The Line.
I grew up playing Sonic Adventure 2 and a bunch of classic Sonic ports on the Gamecube, and I still enjoy games like Sonic Colors and Generations today. So I guess I consider myself a Sonic fan, albeit a picky one (as in, I won't play a Sonic game just because it's a Sonic game). But not even the Sonic fan half of me that I've suppressed for all these years can find a way or even a reason to defend Sonic Boom. It's garbage, plain and simple, and no Sonic fan should be trying to convince people that it isn't that bad (all that does is give the franchise and its fans an even worse reputation).
Well it has very few (if any) to no redeeming qualities, and I'd go for Sonic 06 any day over it. At least 06 had more legitimate reasons for why it was bad as well as enjoyment than Boom (comparatively).
LordDinosaur The only thing I can think of is the TV show, but I've been burned too badly by the game that I can't enjoy it. And after all I heard about Sonic '06, when I finally got around to playing it, it was just one of those funny-bad games. Like Projared said in his Sonic Boom review, it's bad but weirdly enjoyable, while Sonic Boom is just bad.
Okay. Jared. My man. When you say "no easy targets," you SERIOUSLY need to add "Steam Greenlight games" or "eshop exclusive" titles to that list. Seriously... those might be the single EASIEST possible targets outside of college programming demos (which half of them probably were).
I'm kinda late on the reply, but RuneScape doesn't. You're simply another person in the world, you are just as important as anyone else is, only the actual skills and level are different. It's funny how the game is self aware about it as well.
@@foxferreira Oh my gosh. This is back when I used to watch ProJared. Blast from the past, haha. Don't worry about it. I don't have much going on on TH-cam. I love Runescape! It's been a while since I played it. Last thing I remember is the archaeology dig. I was just obsessed when I was in 7th grade. That's when old-school Runescape was just Runescape, lol. I gave my character green locs and I thought that was just the coolest thing ever. I didn't know anything back then! I spent all my time in Al-Kharid listening to that music.
Well Sonic has been a video game character way before the show so there is some expectation for it's quality (even though most current sonic games have not been great)
I think it's fair because they were supposed to be released together, one isn't based off the other. It's not like the Legend of Korra game where it was made by an outside company who jumped onto the license. Not to compare Korra to this because at least Korra was a step in the right direction IMO, the developers just need to have faith in it to make it as good as it can be... ironically much like the show >.>... (looking at you, Nickelodeon).
I know it can't just be me. Who else has this reaction to certain jingles or theme songs? You know, yo, where just hearing them is enough to make you happy and look forward to what's to come? ProJared's opening does that for me. It's so cute.
*"Hidden Letter 1. Hello Michael. If you are reading this, then you have discovered one of the pages in my journal."* So...which is it? A letter, or a page torn from a journal? Also, why is this man's journal square-shaped and three feet wide on each side? And why did he type his entries into it, rather than writing them by hand? I have so many questions!
It's funny how much foreshadowing this video has, with Konami and Kojima, or the Triple A games being buggy and not ready for release. Particularly Arkham Knight.
Well, considering that it has a lower score than Sonic 06 on most websites, including Metacritic, I can agree, but the worst Sonic game ever is probably Sonic Free Riders.
The major difference between Sonic Boom and Sonic 06, is that if the devs had the time to fix the glitches and polish the game, Sonic Boom would still be bad, whereas Sonic 06 would have been decently good.
+Nope92 Too late for it now. MMOs need to have a good launch in order to keep people interested. Even after the patch-up, there's barely anyone still playing it.
+Nope92 I played ESO on launch and it really wasn't that bad. It basically is a single player game in an MMO world, which sucks, but the PvP was some of the best I've ever experienced in an MMO and it was still a good bit of fun while it lasted.
Yeah, ESO, at least after it's absolutely shit debut actually managed to grab me despite me not liking MMO's much at all, hell, I played a straight 50 hours of it which for me is unheard of. And then I got what I think is a bug that made the loading screen to the character select go into an infinite loop. Yaay~
I don't understand how a game with such huge problems like the frame rate in Sonic makes it out the door. I can see how bugs, even game breaking ones, caused by doing things in a way the developers didn't think of could slip out. Though even those should be caught by play testers. Do they have those any more? But the frame rate dropping to nothing when going fast in Sonic is very noticeable to anyone who sees or plays it. Do they just say "It's fine, ship it out."?
According to everyone on the internet when Boom is talked about for long enough, the company Sonic Team handed Boom off to (Big Red Button) just FELL APART in development. Tons of the staff left part way through, and what was left had to rush to actually ever complete the game at the rate they were going. So they might've even noticed the problems, but at that point they didn't seem to have a choice. (also iirc they had like 3-4 QA testers in the credits which is definitely not enough for most games, but don't quote me on that) As for the general problem of "how do the bugs pass development", it's really just different forms of money-grubbing. Sometimes the devs are working on it fairly well but they're forced to hurry by executives or publishers or whatever that don't even know how little they've accomplished. That or the classic "Holiday Rush" Vox mentioned because they really need the cash, or most of the team that worked on the game just didn't care enough compared to the prospect of money (especially in regards to some college-level projects like the Letter or such). Whatever the case, it's such a shame to see some ideas that were just stripped of all potential (Boom), half-baked attempts with no soul (Unity), or just plain apathy (the Letter). That's what I could surmise, though.
It might not be the developers' fault just like Sonic '06. I genuinely do think the developers would've had more time to optimize and clean up the bugs, but there are seriously people calling the shots on deadlines and don't care as long as they make the 'minimum' delivery. I don't blame the developers, I blame the pricks who shove their currently unpolished prototype work out the door.
Slashstar314 Game developer's reputation is important and even if all they only care about money they won't be in business long if they make shitty games. It's the investors and publishers that don't care about customer good will that those developers need to make there next game a success.
Ubisoft games are awful. Just absolutely awful. They offer their share of fun, but only 10 minutes worth after an hour of going through an empty world that's filled with superfluous collectibles, hand holding, and a lack of challenge. And that's not even taking into account the business policies and glitches you can associate with Ubisoft.
The laking transfer from Console to PC handling as in Assassins Creed is my personal major haedache with UBISOFT. It is lousy to have to check every five minutes what key to press, if that is shown at all. EA- I can´t use the EA games anymore the online Connection doesn´t accept my code anymore. Requests don´t help. STRANGE; so good by EA
"It's one thing to make a truly terrible game, but it's even worse when act like a gigantic baby about it." Oh don't expect the industry to cut that attitude anytime soon. If anything, it gets worse from here.
I actually enjoyed WATCH_DOGS and AC Unity, I think people brought them down because of how broken they were at launch, but hey, I got both games WAY past the broken launch stage, so I really did enjoy them. Although, the stories on both of them were filled with clichés, I enjoyed them because of Online Free Roam (W_D) and unlocking armour, pretending to be previous assassins, and completing side missions and that kind of stuff (AC Unity). So basically, I enjoyed Both games VERY much, even the story, it's just that I enjoyed doing something else (the aforementioned free roaming) in the games.
I know, Watch_Dogs and AC Unity were actually my favourite games last year, yes they had a rough launch, but I never got any gamebreaking glitches in ether, and the stories, yet Watch_Dogs predictable story, was nice. But AC Unity, story was amazing for me, I got so attached to Arno and Elíse. In other words I love these games finished both more than 4 times.
I bought AC Unity about 8 days after it's release, and I did suffer the glitch of the game running at 12 frames per second. This caused me to toss it aside for a few weeks. Soon after that, a major patch was added to the game and I was able to play it normally for once, plus the free DLC missions also got me to play, but this game shows that developers REALLY need to take a bit more time with there games to make sure that these triple-A games build hype and actually deliver what is expected, instead of crashing and burning like the Hindenburg. I just have one question for Ubisoft; can you please, pretty please, NOT fuck up AC Syndicate? I am actually looking forward to that one, no matter what anyone says about it.
Furfagging you make a game better then them with no effort. ThEy put a lot of effort into making what turned out to be an amazing assassins creed game. But im scared of Syndicate. Dont preoreder Syndicate.
It's strange seeing unity on this list nowadays. Cause now it's pretty fun and a little glitchy. But this must have been cause some of the glitches were fixed and PCs being more powerful
So the people defending metal gear had fun paying 40 bucks for an hour. I paid 5 bucks for over 100 and still going (Isaac), watch dogs I won't say too much about....was just basic mediocre to me 60 bucks, annnnd Game of Bugs/glitches 60 bucks = fun. This generation of gamers are SO easy to please it's scary.
I don't think the please part is the issue. I think what's worse is that some people have no issue with blatantly being ripped off for small content, which in turn tells developers they can churn out shit for entertainment and they get loads of money. There's games I'm ok with being small, but MGS is not one of those kind of games that should be.
oh I hate the direction AAA games are going, and Why Do They Keep Forgiving Crap Like This From AAA Games? at this point we need to stop doing that because they are getting worse
Super meat boy isn't exactly a triple AAA game >.> though a fun platformer I never wanted to play it again. Ground zeroes just as awesome replayability compared to lots of games :D
Yoshifan0312RBLX But they did not even try,if you have little money-that is not an excuse. It was so awful, that even though it is a steam green light game,he still put it on the list. That means that it is even bad for a steam green light game, which is saying a lot.
And the Jim Sterling controversy where they tried to take him down for his negative review, much like when TotalBiscuit reviewed Day One: Garry’s Incident.
It was merely a glimpse of what to come. An era where Steam is increasingly clogged with asset-flips, excreted by weirdos who ban anyone who calls BS. If only Jerd could have foreseen the monster that DigiHom would go on to become...
ProJared quotes from his Top Ten Worst Lists: 2012: 2012 sucked for videogames! 2013: I admit, it was easier to think of bad games for 2013 than good ones... 2014: 2014 sucked for videogames! Pattern noticed? Games haven't had the easiest recent years, it seems.
Yeah, it's because people keep buying and defending shitty games. When the gaming industry realized how stupid these morons are and realized they only had to do half the work and still make the profit they started making this trash. Just read through some of these comments and look at how stupid these people are for defending half working or 20 minute long games.
AirForceGamer96 I personally place the blame on pre-orders. Ubisoft know that their launches don't have to work, because they've already made a profit over pushing pre-orders. After Aliens: CM, AC: Unity, Battlefield 4, Diablo 3, and Simcity, you'd think pre-order sales would decrease fairly significantly, but nope. The consumer can only take so much, though :)
DarthVaderReviews Yeah that's true and now that people are paying extra to play the game a day earlier is making it worse. I'm hoping soon these people will realize they're losing money because they want to defend a franchise and start holding companies responsible.
Actually I disagreed with Jared back in 2013, it was mostly a great year for games to me. 2014 however... wasn't good but not necessarily that bad. Generally that's how most years seem. Now that it's 2015, we have a lot more to look forward to though. MH4U for 3DS is one of those many games I'm keeping my eye on.
I've been reading all these moronic comments, and all at a laughable level. I just want to say this, nice and personal: Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Unity, Sonic Boom are all bad. Metal Gear Solid V should not exist, because the fourth one had a fantastic climax, and I never want all good things to be messed up. So get the fudge over it.
He left it because the series actually ended with Mother 3. Earthbound left with a cliffhanger, saying that Porky is alive and well. Mother 3 ends with the island being safe.
Okay, I don't think Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed Unity, or Sonic Boom should've been on the list because: 1. I like Watch Dogs and Battlefield 4 2. Patches have since been released that have fixed some of the issues in Assassin's Creed Unity and Sonic Boom
But Jared, don't worry about 2015. We will have nothing but good games such as FIFA 16, Call of Duty Black Ops 3, Madden 16, Assassins Creed.... Wait a sec, Lets talk about actually good games such as Zelda U and Starfox Zero! Oh wait...
>implying games that aren't "actually good" can even get close to selling the ridiculously huge amounts of copies that massive franchises like FIFA and CoD sell >also implying you can take off your nostalgia blinders long enough to see into the future and predict what games will be 10/10 and what games will suck
Alex Leonardi I agree. Honestly, it's one of the better MMOs I've seen in quite a while and I'm not certain what people were expecting out of it that made it so dissapointing to them. It's expansive and encourages free-roaming exploration, just like you'd expect in an ES game. And all of the so called issues (such as phasing etc) are things that every other mmo has to grapple with, so...what exactly is the problem? If you prefer a different MMO by all means you're entitled to that preference but saying this was one of the worst games of 2014 seems.....a little harsh. IMO it's better than Skyrim, and look how celebrated that thing was. >_>
Ground Zeroes does NOT belong on this list. The price should never factor into how "good" a game is... Ever. Now if you want to call it overpriced then be my guest, it totally is. But keep in mind that hardcore metal gear fans will probably get their money's worth discovering all the easter eggs and playing through the missions. $30 is still a bit much imo, but for $10-$20 I can see people getting alot of enjoyment out of it.
He wasn't talking about the price specifically, but more so that it was just a demo of Phantom Pain, but then again, price matters if you only release a game that only has an HOUR of gameplay. Which the other Metal Gears had more than 20 hours of.
Price usually contributes to a game's quality because, if a game is really expensive yet feels small, it can make the player feel like they lost some money. One of the main points of paying for something is receiving something of equal value; if a $40 game has about as much content and experience as a $20 game, there's a problem.
Del Fin No its not. A review is supposed to tell me how GOOD something is. Quality and Value are not the same thing. While they are almost always related, you have to evaluate them separately.
Jumpayh Bi-Ohmes Ubisoft is just the publisher not the dev. Grasshopper with thelead of Suda 51 did this game, Ubi could never come up with something this creative and over the top.
Since I'm on my Redemption Tour binge and like rewatching "worst of top 10's," I want to say that there is a major difference in quality before Sonic '06 and Sonic Boom. That being if you smooth out the glitches in '06, you have a decent game with a mediocre story, good characters, and great music. If you smooth out the glitches in Boom, you remove the only enjoyable aspect of the game.
From what I've heard it was overhyped, the story sucks, there's a lot of grinding, overall very in impressive presentation. At least that's what I've heard from other people
Destiny is good (from what I have played of the beta) its like a mix in of halo and borderlands. Just it was over hyped and the story was kinda trying to hard to be cool 8.9/10
Magalor Da Suppreme I think Destiny has potential but at the moment it is a flawed game and overall makes it a pretty bad game. The story is the very least of its troubles even though the story does suck. It's the way it makes you play the game. The grinding is also not rewarding at all. They have a leveling up system based off loot/gear. It makes the leveling system flawed. You basically have to play the same story and strike (similar but with longer bosses) over and over again. They make you play the same missions but with a harder difficulty, which all that means is the enemies deal more damage and have more health according to level. You then have to shoot at a boss for ages and ages. The mission structure is unoriginal and the way you play is not smart, its just simply shooting a target over and over, and in return you get a random item which could suck or could be good. This means that people can over take you in level purely through luck. There is no skill involved in your level. You grind in hope to level to do "new" things. The PVP is also generic, theres some cool things in PVP matches, but overall it gets boring very fast with only two modes. One mode being a rip off of domination with slight tweaks to the rules. The game world is pathetic how tiny it is. Each planet just feels like a themed level and doesnt really feel like it would be any where near to the size of a planet. Although they did do a great job on the art of how a planet could look like in the future. The gameplay and art are the only things good about the game. Everything else is really flawed and the actual content youre playing is awful. Not to mention that the actual loot you are trying to get is basically the same weapon but just reskinned with high stats.
Destiny should have been on this list. I like the game but it gets so... boring! I loved the beta and was kinda let down of how... empty the game was. It's pretty good, but it's a 500 million dollar disappointment.
+Norcae Hindsman it's been done now, the top 5 best and worst games of 2015..I suppose he's too busy to make a top 10 list.. but he also said he didn't play many games in 2015 to be fair..
WARNING: WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO READ APPARENTLY IS UNPOPULAR OPINION: MGS V: Ground Zeroes is phenomenal. I have never played a Metal Gear Solid game prior to playing this. That being said, I enjoyed it possibly more than any other game I had played in 2014. YES, It's extremely short and is essentially just an expensive teaser for Phantom Pain. Nevertheless, the game's controls, stealth mechanics, and atmosphere was in my opinion, mind blowing. And the fact that the graphics were good didn't hurt. I found it to have a surprisingly high level of replay-ability, as I enjoyed going back to the main mission again and again- not to mention the other side missions. I thoroughly enjoyed Ground Zeroes and while I understand why it gets flak, I simply cannot understand why it is in this Top 10 Worst Games of 2014 list.
Pit DarkAngel Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I am not saying that it's acceptable that it was $30 for a couple hours of gameplay. What I'm saying is that the game ITSELF is great, and definitely doesn't deserve to be on a Top 10 Worst list.
Pit DarkAngel Yeah, you're right, that's a good review score. Making it even more confusing as to why it'd be on a Top 10 Worst games list. No game that's an 8/10 should be on a list like this. There are hundreds of other games that weren't even function able as a game that he could have chosen. The fact that the game is short and overpriced doesn't make the game itself bad. Yes, people shouldn't buy it at full price, but it isn't a bad game, and shouldn't be on this list.
It's kind of funny hearing Jared talking about how sucky imminent uprising was in 2014 because of tantrum throwing, when just a few months ago they tried to sue Jim Sterling for saying mean things about them.
+Andres Castillo Say what you want about it now, but Sonic used to be a household name that moved consoles with a series that was critically and publicly revered. The series may be bad now (although Generations, Colors, and arguably Unleashed were all solid fun games) but the series' legendary past and extremely recognizable character and brand, it still is incredibly well known. I am not at all arguing about the rest of the modern games are even passable, but Sonic still is a name people remember and talk about. I don't see it going much further on name alone, but that was the purpose of the Sonic Boom cartoon, to get ki
***** I understand that but he's trying to say it's also irrelevant, which it is not. That doesn't mean it's a quality series any longer, but it's a still a name people recognize.
What's truly sad is that Sonic has so much potential yet it seems near impossible to make a reasonably good 3D Sonic game. I can't think of one except Generations and Colours (although I never played the latter) and MAYBE Heroes, although that ones glitchy as hell. WHY?!
Leo B-Gun Cause Sega can't sit on a good idea and improve on it, instead it tried to reinvent itself with every installment. Just check Jim Sterling's 'Sonic Gloom' Jimquisition to see what I am talking about.
+Leo B-Gun I don't get why they didn't just stick with the foundation Gens and Colors left. People were finally starting to enjoy Sonic games They had no reason to drop it for Lost World and instead of investing in the the trust they were starting to earn back with fans, they changed everything for an okay game and then had another Sonic '06
Zachary Bean projared did to, and so did I. But it is an hour and a half for one mission plus six half hour missions isn't all that great. Especially when you realize they are all on the same map.
Unity I never played but watchdogs is sweet. Also I'm a huge assasins creed fan, black flag and ac2 stuff like this, so I'm inclined to say: fuck you ubisofts is amazing but just needed to get back into the game which it has and will with syndicate coming out
you kids with your nervutos and two parts yeah, some people say its the worst But canpaign was great Mp was more or less the same and I actually kinda like exo zombies
you kids with your nervutos and two parts It wasnt more of the same , if you actually played it or saw gameplay of it , you wouldn't say that , heck even TotalBiscuit praised it because it was refreshing
Its so similar to other games in the series, taking away several mechanics that were keeping the series fresh. Not only this, but thw thing is loaded with micro transactions, for a 60 dollar release. And it was WAY more bugged than other releases.
Close your eyes, and pretend that Projared is talking about Fallout 76 instead of The elder scrolls online, Bethesda simply cannot make online games, i wish they would stop trying
Ubisoft has always had a problem with rushing games watch dogs Is pretty decent because of the story mode except the bugs and glitches on PC.... Xbox one, its fine but the glitches are on that system to
+Renegade 17 Watch Dogs was dissapointing, yes, but AC was just bad, when you have to patch your game *three* times for it to work properly and making it weight roughly 50% more than it originally did, then you got yourself an unfinished game.
Asset-Flips weren't the ever-present blight they are today. Air Control and Slaughtering Grounds were thought to be amongst only a few such things which would hit the digital storefronts.
Real-Time Player Yeah I guess when comparing one guys work to a triple A title it does come off as an easy target. I wasn't thinking of glitchy as much as effortless, and poor design. ProJared mentioned that P.T. doesn't need the "jump scare crutch" while Freddies wears it like it's going out of style.
It's only funny if it happened to an Ubisoft employee, a Capcom employee, or an EA employee who was playing the game, and their game completely crashed and deleted their save file because those companies are run by assholes.
Seburtis very true! It has a ton of content but people only play the first mission then they go on the internet complaining about the length instead of exploring other content.
Seburtis The ENTIRE game can e completed in about 3-5 hours if you do everything possible, and then have to replay the game to get anymore content out of it. That's why its on this list, especially since it was originally going to be $40, lowered to $30, and $20 dollars digitally.
***** Sonic Boom is a bit different. Its not being praised left, right and center for ANYTHING. No, a better comparison would be a game like say, Skyrim. Both Skyrim and Ground Zeroes are pretty good games, but the difference between the two (besides gameplay) is the amount of content. As I said in my above post, Ground Zeroes can be fully completed (not counting reruns, they don't count) in about 3-5 hours. Skyrim, even on the easiest difficulty, will easily take 40-50 hours, and even then, you still might not do everything. And lets say you buy them at full price. Skyrim, brand new, at full price was 60 dollars, in its day. Ground zeroes, on the other hand, is 30 dollars, for about a tenth of the content. Realistically, Ground Zeroes should have at least 10 hours of playing time before replaying takes into effect, for it to be worth the 30 dollars (especially since there's nothing else to it but the story mode). And as ProJared said, the game itself isn't bad, but the price tag most certainly is.
Siphon Rayzar Well actually Skyrim can be completed in an hour (Go look up the world record). It'd take about 20-25 mins to speed run all of the missions in GZ. I agree it should have been 20 or 25 at launch, the fact it was 30 on the next gen consoles was Konami just milking the fact there's nothing worthwhile playing on them, they're not the only ones doing that, in fact most are not that that makes it any less shitty a practice mind you. If you bought the PS3 version for 20 at launch, you got some great value for money if you think about it, I see GZ as prequel DLC and in comparison to most DLCs out there it's pretty damn good.
Funny you'd mention Kojima keeping Konami afloat...
Haze Haberdasher This video was out before Konami dropped Kojima and starting to die out slowly.
Rah Sollest I know. I watched this multiple times before the Konami situation, so now its funny since Konami finally fucked up.
Silent Swordsman Out of curiosity, What kind of practices are you referring to?
It pisses me off when people say: "Well Sonic doesn't NEED to go fast!" YES HE DOES! THAT'S WHAT MADE HIM AND HIS GAMES ICONIC!
+chevyPIKMIN181 It's like they forgot why Sonic was named "Sonic."
GOTTA GO SLOW
I can only imagine people who say that being sarcastic or trolling, because that argument is a complete contradiction to Sonic's own name.

how do people even defend sonic boom
boaz helton There's Sonic 06, so maybe they're trying to make it as if that's the worst Sonic game. But in my opinion, I disagree. The reason Sonic 06 failed was only because it was rushed for Christmas because well, presents. Sonic Boom is worse because it's not as funny bad as Sonic 06 and it had more time to be made.
SammyClassicSonicFan disagrees
boaz helton Because Game Grumps made it seem like so much fun
OmegaArts Kami Was it rushed for Christmas? I thought it was rushed for Sanic 15th Anniversary or some such like.

2014 was a terrible year for gaming if you didn't have a Wii U
2014 was a terrible year for gaming overall, you can´t look at just the Wii U
***** As a whole, yes, 2014 was atrocious. The console that had the most quality games was the Wii U
SigmaShawn That´s mostly cause the Wii U didn´t have as much releases as the Ps or Xbox.Which in this case was good
Daniel Jones I'll wait with you, man. DAMN YOU OTHER M!!!
Nah shadow of mordor was enough for me to like the year
Why isn't Destiny up on this list?
You are soooo right with this one. It's so GODDAMN Overrated!
dotz71000 more than just overrated. The hype was there but it was dissapointing as hell. I played the beta and it was awesome. But when i got the full game, it was just awfully disappointing. UGH
I actually like destiny but I do agree on the fact that it was very over hyped but all in all its a good game
The "social features" barely even had any social functions. How is waving or pointing to someone a social feature? That aside, I'm actually complaining about the game in terms of gameplay and content
Aside from bullet sponges, delicious cheese, grinding -until your sharpness is Excalibur level- and sinful adds, Destiny is quite fun to play.

Daniel Scott No, it was not. It has more detail than GTA V.
TheTimoprimo GTA 5 is a good game, but easily the most overrated game ever.
Watch Dogs 2 was really fun
Air Control looks like a SMG4 video without any Mario.
You forgot "Depression Quest", considering the high scores it received from the games journalists it shouldn't count as "an easy target", which you excluded.
It isn't a game. Hence why it's not on the list.
I liked it. Regardless of who developed it, or whether or not it actually qualifies as a game, I thought it was great
Yeah it's on Steam maybe but it's not a game.
Dennis Z Heck, the only reason it even got there is because "journalists" promoted it's greenlight.
***** Let's not forget that it was (still is?) free. For that price its kinda hard to complain.
To each their own, but it's no surprise you're in the minority on that one.
Siphon Rayzar
I did play it. What makes you think I didn't play it?
This was the video that actually introduced me to Jim Sterling. Thank you for that!

Wouldn't Sonic Boom be like a tie in to the show?
i wish, the show was most likely made for the game instead of the other way around.
Well Sonic has been a video game character way before the show so there is some expectation for it's quality (even though most current sonic games have not been great)
Both were made at the same time, basically.
Well, its a prequel to the show, so yeah, kind of...

The major difference between Sonic Boom and Sonic 06, is that if the devs had the time to fix the glitches and polish the game, Sonic Boom would still be bad, whereas Sonic 06 would have been decently good.
I know it does not excuse the launch but ESO is a lot better now
+Nope92 Too late for it now. MMOs need to have a good launch in order to keep people interested. Even after the patch-up, there's barely anyone still playing it.
+Ryotaiku Not necessarily, games can recover. SWTOR tanked, now, I'd say it had repaired itself to a quite sustainable population.
+Nope92 I played ESO on launch and it really wasn't that bad. It basically is a single player game in an MMO world, which sucks, but the PvP was some of the best I've ever experienced in an MMO and it was still a good bit of fun while it lasted.
+Dan T Elder Scrolls Online
Yeah, ESO, at least after it's absolutely shit debut actually managed to grab me despite me not liking MMO's much at all, hell, I played a straight 50 hours of it which for me is unheard of.

Gotta get that Christmas money, yo.
(also iirc they had like 3-4 QA testers in the credits which is definitely not enough for most games, but don't quote me on that)
As for the general problem of "how do the bugs pass development", it's really just different forms of money-grubbing.
Well, at least they tested the title screen.
And that's not even taking into account the business policies and glitches you can associate with Ubisoft.
not all, they made child of light, rayman and valiant hearts, I usually see if they used ubuart engine, because this usually are worth
But Rayman Legends...
Its also a land of In app Purchases
The laking transfer from Console to PC handling as in Assassins Creed is my personal major haedache with UBISOFT. It is lousy to have to check every five minutes what key to press, if that is shown at all.

Jared predicted how triple A games would be in the future spot on
"It's one thing to make a truly terrible game, but it's even worse when act like a gigantic baby about it." Oh don't expect the industry to cut that attitude anytime soon. If anything, it gets worse from here.
Watchdogs and assassin creed unity has the same exact running animations.......if anyone noticed...
they are both made by Ubisoft...
Pit DarkAngel DUHHHHHHHHHHH
And both games are in same universe :) like assasins creed rouge & unity
Ashley Johansson For Honor also does xD
Jared predicted that Watch Dogs 2 would be good in 2015. Psychic, much?
CaptainCeleb but a company shouldent rush its game out
I bought AC Unity about 8 days after it's release, and I did suffer the glitch of the game running at 12 frames per second.
Unity was great I really didnt see anything wrong with it like everyone says
Furfagging you make a game better then them with no effort. ThEy put a lot of effort into making what turned out to be an amazing assassins creed game. But im scared of Syndicate. Dont preoreder Syndicate.

Oh, how right you were,
Sonic Boom is a kid's game, but i can't deny it sucks
darkassasinful sonic boom is so bad that even kids think it sucks
I'm 12 and I think Sonic Boom and its cartoon is very mediocre, boring, and not to mention glitchy.
Dameon Jones you're way older to enjoy a game that's targeted for kids arround 6-7, but yeah it's pretty bad and glitchy
Chris Tzanis Yes, yes it does.
Kids deserve better
Tbh I had more fun with the 13$ sale of ground zeroes than the 60$ Thief game
I had more fun with 5$ super meatboy than any ripoff metal gear price . I can do it too :D
Super meat boy isn't exactly a triple AAA game >.> though a fun platformer I never wanted to play it again. Ground zeroes just as awesome replayability compared to lots of games :D

*Lists a Steam Greenlight game at number 2*
A lack of money isn't an excuse for lack of effort.
Yoshifan0312RBLX But they did not even try,if you have little money-that is not an excuse. It was so awful, that even though it is a steam green light game,he still put it on the list. That means that it is even bad for a steam green light game, which is saying a lot.
Yoshifan0312RBLX there are indie games that come out much more successful than AAA titles so we can't consider indie games easy target.
KING JAK3 Quite an accomplishment, then
Right, but he specifically said "no budget games" for this list. At least 3 of these games are definitely budget games.
This Introduced me to Jim Sterling. Wish i hadnt seen this list.
Hey, Faidherbe square! Why is that song playing during air control?
I'm guessing the slaughtering grounds probably ran like shit because the assets were not optimized to have so many active at once.
I bet it ran like shit because the developers were incompetent shitheads. No excuses.
And the Jim Sterling controversy where they tried to take him down for his negative review, much like when TotalBiscuit reviewed Day One: Garry’s Incident.
2014 really was the low point of modern gaming huh
It was merely a glimpse of what to come. An era where Steam is increasingly clogged with asset-flips, excreted by weirdos who ban anyone who calls BS.

ProJared quotes from his Top Ten Worst Lists:
2012: 2012 sucked for videogames!

I'm the opposite. The wii u was failing (Not anymore, but back in 2013,it did, except super mario 3d world.)
I've been reading all these moronic comments, and all at a laughable level.
I just want to say this, nice and personal:
Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Unity, Sonic Boom are all bad.
Metal Gear Solid V should not exist, because the fourth one had a fantastic climax, and I never want all good things to be messed up.
So get the fudge over it.
Fans kept begging for more MGS after 4 so Kojima went with it. He was originally going to end the Solid series there.
Forty Winks I'd rather have Metal Gear Solid V than Kojima pulling an Itoi and leaving a franchise that should go on for years and years in the dust.
He left it because the series actually ended with Mother 3. Earthbound left with a cliffhanger, saying that Porky is alive and well. Mother 3 ends with the island being safe.
Watch_Dogs isn't that bad of a game.
Its just above average/decent.
I could wipe my ass with sonic boom. Unity was rushed and unfinished. Watch_Dogs was good.
Watching this in 2022 after getting addicted to your top 10s of recent years 😁
Okay, I don't think Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed Unity, or Sonic Boom should've been on the list because:
1. I like Watch Dogs and Battlefield 4
2. Patches have since been released that have fixed some of the issues in Assassin's Creed Unity and Sonic Boom

I agree.
Thank you Jim, for helping that shit taken off steam.
Ground Zeroes does NOT belong on this list.

Ground Zeroes belongs as much on this list as P.T. belongs on his Best Of list.
Del Fin No its not. A review is supposed to tell me how GOOD something is.
Quality and Value are not the same thing. While they are almost always related, you have to evaluate them separately.
Ground Zeroes was like if The Tanker chapter of mgs 2 or Virtuous Mission in mgs 3 had been released as a standalone title.
Juuuuust catching up while I wait for the 2015 version to be uploaded by Jared :P
To everyone saying that every Ubisoft game sucks, i.have two words, Scott Pilgrim
Jumpayh Bi-Ohmes Ubisoft is just the publisher not the dev. Grasshopper with thelead of Suda 51 did this game, Ubi could never come up with something this creative and over the top.
Far Cry 4 was good...
Has everyone forgot to mention Prince of persia: sands of time? Their best game? The best 3D platformer of all time? Ok.
***** It doesn't mention Prince of persia, yes you do say that ubisoft made good games, but I feel like price of persia deserves more credit.
I have one word: Rayman
Since I'm on my Redemption Tour binge and like rewatching "worst of top 10's," I want to say that there is a major difference in quality before Sonic '06 and Sonic Boom. That being if you smooth out the glitches in '06, you have a decent game with a mediocre story, good characters, and great music. If you smooth out the glitches in Boom, you remove the only enjoyable aspect of the game.
ESO is amazing, unsubbed, called the police, prayed to Auriel for your sinful soul
I just realized, if it weren't for this video, I never would have known the glorious hilarity that is Jim Sterling. Thank you ProJared. Thank you.
Hm, surprised Destiny didnt make this.
Destiny is bad?
I'm guessing ProJared never try it.
Thought you said no low budget games? Number 6?
Or 2 or 1?
He didn't mention "No budget" games.
Gregor Thomson Well, those games (2,1) were realased for the full price....soooo....
Eyedam that is just amazing and loci whatever the fuck, just cuz they're released full price don't mean they can't be budget games
Autocorrect
Destiny should have been on this list. I like the game but it gets so... boring! I loved the beta and was kinda let down of how... empty the game was. It's pretty good, but it's a 500 million dollar disappointment.
Yeah and the fact that Bungie punishes players for not paying an additional $20 for DLC which is already on our discs locked off to us is ridiculous.
AirForceGamer96 I forgot about the DLC bullshit. This game is good but Bungie is making some really cringe decisions
ItsCryptiid
I mean, they made halo 2,and that was a classic, but now it seems they don't know how to make a game anymore.
Cole Lapp Sad but true...
ItsCryptiid So the game is good, but it should be on the worst of 2014 list? Makes perfect sense to me.
**scratches head** I thought we said no easy targets? Green-Lit games are no different than movie games sometimes. Cheap Cash-Ins.
Where is the "Top 10 worst games of 2015".
he's not doing it
+Greg Finke did he say why?
+Tammy Kanhoffen I'm pretty sure because of the D&December videos he did taking up too much time.
+Norcae Hindsman it's been done now, the top 5 best and worst games of 2015..I suppose he's too busy to make a top 10 list..
but he also said he didn't play many games in 2015 to be fair..
WARNING: WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO READ APPARENTLY IS UNPOPULAR OPINION:
MGS V: Ground Zeroes is phenomenal.
Well, it IS a great game, no doubts, but 30$ for less than an hour of gameplay isn't acceptable.
Pit DarkAngel Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I am not saying that it's acceptable that it was $30 for a couple hours of gameplay. What I'm saying is that the game ITSELF is great, and definitely doesn't deserve to be on a Top 10 Worst list.
WhoaNellyJake I see where you're getting at, but as Jared said, "8/10 Just don't buy it"
Pit DarkAngel Yeah, you're right, that's a good review score.
WhoaNellyJake agreed, but I don't think Jared owns an Xbone (the platform with a lot of broken games)
But were the gunshot sounds good?
It's kind of funny hearing Jared talking about how sucky imminent uprising was in 2014 because of tantrum throwing, when just a few months ago they tried to sue Jim Sterling for saying mean things about them.
Cola and meal, please. No bread!
Erica Suzanne Oh, so you watch that one guy who keeps thanking others so he can get the views... lovely!!!
LateNights okay... what?
Wut?
COLA AND MEAL PLEASE. NO BREAD
Sonic isn't a well established franchise though.
Yes it is
Was* I hate people who still try to defend it. Sonic is such a tired concept.
His grammar was right man
+Andres Castillo Say what you want about it now, but Sonic used to be a household name that moved consoles with a series that was critically and publicly revered.
***** Not a fan of Gens? It's pretty much only a slight change on the Unleashed formula + Colors level design
+Leo B-Gun Sonic the hedgehog 1, 2 and CD?
***** Yea Boom was fucking garbage.
I like how I JUST notice that Jared used waterflame songs in these videos, and he is one of my favorite composers
12:20 .. running on nudity on my high end pc.... o.O ... wait.... what?!
He said Unity. It's a game engine.
I know. :) But it sounded funny. :P
Good picks. Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed Unity were garbage. Ubisoft is garbage.
WATCH DOGS, and AC Unity are descent games, stop hating on them.
Zachary Bean projared did to, and so did I. But it is an hour and a half for one mission plus six half hour missions isn't all that great. Especially when you realize they are all on the same map.
Unity I never played but watchdogs is sweet. Also I'm a huge assasins creed fan, black flag and ac2 stuff like this, so I'm inclined to say: fuck you ubisofts is amazing but just needed to get back into the game which it has and will with syndicate coming out
Seth, I agree I can't stand Ubihaters.
deatman ZombiU was pretty good
notice how none oft theese games are made by Nintendo!
Nintendo had a really good year in 2014.
For sonic boom: They should try to make a game like sonic colors! People like that game, right? I like it......
No advanced Warfare?
Ikr
Even though i kinda like it I expected it
thecheatsmaster123 it wasnt really bad, just more of the same. its better than ghost ya know. that game was shit
you kids with your nervutos and two parts yeah, some people say its the worst
But canpaign was great
Mp was more or less the same and
I actually kinda like exo zombies
you kids with your nervutos and two parts It wasnt more of the same , if you actually played it or saw gameplay of it , you wouldn't say that , heck even TotalBiscuit praised it because it was refreshing
TheKSH991 yes, but it still had the same feel and gunplay, sure it was a bit different, but it was still another cod game
The Letter is terrible; Unity was just idiots expecting that it'd be perfect!
So im a idiot?? Ok senpai........ :'( lol jking. But the only thing wrong with unity is the ending........
Jordax Desturctiox Hahaha, don't tell me! But how can you expect a Ubisoft game to be perfect? Every Assassin's Creed game is so bugged!
Ikr. Once when i was playing unity i was climbing a building and my character fell right through it and went under the map and died.
Jordax Desturctiox Hahaha! Still better than CoD!
Its so similar to other games in the series, taking away several mechanics that were keeping the series fresh. Not only this, but thw thing is loaded with micro transactions, for a 60 dollar release. And it was WAY more bugged than other releases.
At least 2015 will have [hopefully] Persona 5.
dont forget... zelda U :)
And Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate ^_^
And Batman.
Phantom Pain
Yarck
I have a sneaking feeling the new Zelda is going to disappoint me...
Close your eyes, and pretend that Projared is talking about Fallout 76 instead of The elder scrolls online, Bethesda simply cannot make online games, i wish they would stop trying
Assassins creed and watch dogs aren't bad but they were disappointing
+TheSkullGamer those exact same words can be applied to Batman Arkham Knight. Watch it make game of the year. :(
Ubisoft has always had a problem with rushing games
watch dogs Is pretty decent because of the story mode except the bugs and glitches on PC....
Jetto Agu lol at least they tried. How Batman looking on PC right now?
Jordan Jolivette
That Batman bullshit is also unacceptable. What the fuck Rocksteady?
"NO Easy Targets."
*proceeds to The Letter, The Slaughtering Grounds, Air Control and Sonic Boom*
Asset-Flips weren't the ever-present blight they are today.
Air Control and Slaughtering Grounds were thought to be amongst only a few such things which would hit the digital storefronts.
I'm kind of surprised Five Nights At Freddies wasn't mentioned.
I don't like fnaf but it's not the worst.
It's not as glitchy and it was made by one person. I shit game like unity was made by a company
***** It wears the jump scare crutch like it's going out of style. It relies solely on that and nothing else.
xJC4Rx
Go back to the kitchen and make me a sandvich, woman. You don't know shit.
Fnaf just has jumpscares and a deep story. (Which is why I think the movie won't suck)
You know what else is a funny glitch in ACU? Deleting my 60% save file automatically
It's only funny if it happened to an Ubisoft employee, a Capcom employee, or an EA employee who was playing the game, and their game completely crashed and deleted their save file because those companies are run by assholes.
This is why i Nintendo
lol. What an idiot.
I know I'm late on this, but...WHY THE FUCK IS GROUND ZEROS ON HERE!? It more content than most games released in 2014!
A triple A game that is actually a demo which was $30 dollar game in which there is a speed run of it in under 10 minutes isn't a good game.
If you bought the PS3 version for 20 at launch, you got some great value for money if you think about it, I see GZ as prequel DLC and in comparison to most DLCs out there it's pretty damn good.
i didnt like the ships... i actually hated the ships...
Couldn't agree with you more about Elder Scrolls.
