Everyone that’s mad about Jeremy being killed first doesn’t understand that Jeremy, on his next turn, was going to get 17 upkeep triggers at least on his turn, and with creeping bloodsucker and the dragon would put him into an Unkillable position with 17 dragons and draining every for 17, killing Steven leaving Cory at 1 and Jeremy would’ve been at around 80 life. And that’s just with the information of the board state, not including his draws.
I feel like -1 point for killing the person in last is just not enough of a deterrent since it keeps happening like every game. Maybe it should be increased to -2 or -3 to be more impactful.
there needs to be a larger deterrent for killing last place first. Last place has to aim to win to catch up and the people ahead only lose 1 point for making them die first (which they negate the loss by placing 1 higher than them anyway). It almost solidifies who will be in last will stay in last by mid season, since if there's any sign of them winning it makes too much sense just to kill them.
agreed, i do think there needs to be a tweak to this rule in the upcoming seasons. Jeremy is not as bad as his record has shown, just next to no penalty for killing last place
Well, Jeremy did end up playing the best draw spell in the game. At it's worst, he "draws" 3 extra cards a turn, but that's especially good when other people are drawing less than normal.
A lot of people here are complaining about how they "targeted the one guy" or another Me personally? I'm just here to watch content and enjoy the video
I really hope the Obeka and Eriette decks come back at some point. They were definitely more intriguing (to me at least) than Monoblack discard and Gitrog shenanigans. T-T
Hey this is a comment for Director Justin - love the show, long time fan; but as a fellow video editor, I have to say I think you're using the Adobe Podcast AI too heavily here. I also utilize the tool pretty regularly, but I find that many times it distorts audio too much. Try using it at very low percentages (like 20%) rather than anywhere near the default of 90%, and you won't have as many issues.
Imma start keeping track of how many episodes Jermey does a thing then gets blown out by the rest of the table. Threat assessment grade A, point maximization F. Episode:1
@ 58:56 How does Corey play Avenger after spending all but an undergrowth stadium and a vesuva as a mosswort bridge in upkeep on Tyvar's Stand? Am I losing my mind?
Hey gang, love the content and I’ve been a fan for years! I have a small request: would you let someone know to add the commander as a viewable card in the decklists on the SCG website? It’s always weird that the 99 are viewable but the commander has to be searched up to see what they do. Either make the deck title a card link or add a Commander area above the Creature list would work. Hope this helps and keep up the good work!
I was so hoping for Gitrog to win at the start, then Jeremy popped off and I was cheering for him, Then the Gitrog did its thing again and i switched teams back lmao, what a rollercoaster
What did I miss when 'SPOILER' Cory used his land to give fear to Gitrog and going in for the kill... Didn't Jeremy have a black creature up to block. Sorry it's been a long day and I am not going through Cory to do his math 15x 😅😂.
It had trample. That's why he counted to put Gitrog at 17. Cory needed 15 commander damage to get through, and the black creature had 2 toughness, so 17 power was needed.
Jeremy has had a habit for years of durdling, then doing something quite threatening, but not winning or killing someone in that moment. So he then has a threatening state looking like a bullseye.
It's likely they're going to play Rakdos and Marchesa in the next few weeks, but it would be cool to see either Tali Wakeen or Ertha Jo with some PWs, too.
The sound quality on this video feels off. It sounds like you have new mics that aren't as good as the ones you used to use? I feel like all the voices are being spoken from within a padded box that is excluding all outside background sound. It doesn't sound organic. It doesn't sound like the players are even sitting in the same room together. It's like they are all in a sound booth recordering the voicework after the game is over. It's really offputting. I can hear everyone just fine, but your old microphone setup sounded so much better. I hope this was just a temporary change for this week for whatever reason.
(Jeremy) Thanks for the feedback. We really want to make things sound clear and did try something new with the audio to reduce the echoes, but may have gone overboard with it. We'll tone it down or remove it for the future.
@SCGCommander senpai noticed me! Good to hear. When listening on cell phone, it was fine, but when i had my headphones on, that when the soundboof feel really stood out
Fun game to watch but Corey telling people "he's sorry" when he swings to lethal or otherwise combos off is something he does every week and, let's be honest: he's never actually sorry and it's kind of irksome.
Love the content! But classic Jeremy always casting a card after a trigger resolves to stop something after the fact. Tiny bones connecting and casting baloth. Oh wait during combat let’s kill tiny bones. 🙄
Once again, bullying Jeremy while he's in last place. Ugh. 1 too many times. That gets a downvote. Jeremy was finally starting to breakthrough Stephen's stranglehold and yet he gets punished.
Probably yes, but this has become a pattern where Jeremy is killed first or concurrently with someone else “first”. If this was the first or second time it happened, sure. But then where did the joke of Jeremy being in last place come from? It’s because he starts to look threatening so Jon and Corey (sometimes with Stephen but he is much less a part of it) target Jeremy until he’s out. If he were in first or second, at least I would understand, but he’s in last! It’s usually Jon politicking to cast suspicion away from himself. This game, Stephen was in full control outside of Jeremy almost breaking through. But usually Jon is directing everyone’s attention to Jeremy.
@@kanadaj I do somewhat agree with you. You're right, Jon is a masterclass in deflection (something I don't really enjoy). But I've been mildly disappointed by Jeremy for long before Corey joined. He loves hanging back, ramping, then dropping something huge or doing a big action like drawing a ton of cards. But then he doesn't usually win or kill someone then. So he becomes a big threat for all to see. In some games, it seems weird because someone else had been a threat already (see Steven here), but Jeremy will set himself up to be a bigger one. So he gets killed for the setup. I've wanted him to play threats more subtly, but it doesn't seem to suit him. The last place vs first place is a weird thing overall though. I've wanted more people to attack the first place player for years, but they definitely don't do that as often as it should matter as well.
After Jeremy’s big turn, he was whining about how he did his thing, now he was just gonna die. I was about to complain about it in comments, then I decided to fast forward a bit…and sure enough, there he was dead first. John even talked in the beginning about how they were just gonna kill him first. And they actually did….AGAIN! /sigh I remember when this was the premiere Commander show, now its just sad and repetitive. I only check this one out when none of the others have content up at the time.
If you watch the channel enough, you'd know how often Jeremy sets up a threat, but doesn't capitalize on it right then and there. So then he just has a threat, and you're upset that the guys remove it/him?
It really does get tiring. I do think however it is partly Jeremy’s fault. Like if someone is winning the game the table needs to stop them that’s the point of the game. I think he needs to learn to not just chase value but end the game. He plays decks that often have huge pay offs but he doesn’t actually end the game with the payoff. I play this play style with a lot of my decks and I have learned that you can’t just start your engine unless you’re planning on ending the game very quickly. He likes value but I think he often just starts the engine without knowing his destination and that doesn’t work well with his style of decks.
@@blue9393 So much this. Jeremy so often plays "to do the thing" instead of to win and packs the decks full of ramp and value and not interaction/protection or game enders. So he just does the thing and has a massive turn then gets blown out.

Making it -4 to nullify getting first or actually hurt you if you take 2nd or 3rd would be thoroughly disincentivizing
That would just incentivize wounding the player and letting them die by someone else or setting up a 1v1 situation
there needs to be a larger deterrent for killing last place first. At this point, it's like they kill Jeremy on purpose to leave him in last place. It's annoying.
@@TheEclip6 Yes... yes he is.
Jeremy should've dealt 9 and gotten 9 upkeeps, not 7. Forgot champion's helm
Man TWO videos in one week!? We eating good this week!
Here I was hoping to see how Eriette performs. But Monoblack was there to ensure people did not get to play magic.
Oh boi what an exciting episode to watch, can't wait to see what the decks are able to do...
RIP Jeremy. Always make sure when your deck does the thing it results in the win right then and there.
Everyone suffering from monoblack discard, and it's *not* the first player out.
Weird.

I would also like to know this. Did he believe his vesuva was a nykthos???
The Avenger was hidden away with the copy of Mosswort Bridge
Jeremy is the posterboy for "Value isn't Victory"
Is there a way to see the points system they use ?
Looking for a way to spice up my local Fnm games.
That look Jon gave after he just reverted back the 21 Jeremy gained, only for jeremy to gain 21 48:40

Like, comment, share, subscribe, binge, and get a second episode this week!!

I love how the last video everyone complained about them teaming up on Cory, but that happens every week to Jeremy.

I don't see how this is that big of a deal in the grand scheme of the game
Sure, probably could have delt with Tiny a bit earlier but like, oh well
Steven's deck is absolutely heinous. If you wanna play Tergrid but your playgroup kills you first? Try tinybones.
