    The scariest part is when you've reached a point of finding out the truth. Is someone going to make it? Its at that moment all of life doesnt matter and your at your most scared. You'll either here words of relief that could finally take the weight off your shoulders or be cast off into despair and misery as your worst fears become realized. The moments between knowing are like a breath you cant exhail until you know which way the story of your life will go.

    I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant (6 months), with twins, if I was worried enough to go to the hospital for a fever and less activity of my twins, and then told that my babies where fine but I wasn't because I have a flesh eating virus that can kill my babies or myself and I had two options but one being the most viable one; BEST believe I'd be telling the doctors to cut my arm off. I still have another arm to hold my babies with. Yes life would be challenging but I'd put THEM before me.

    I had to watch it again about the choices that were given and I would have done c-section and amputate the arm. I would have to think do I want to hold my baby with one arm or not live to see the baby grow up. As a mother, you put your child first, and I would do anything for them.

      You are thinking rationally but when you are loosing a limb it feel you with terror. She asked for them to try to save her arm and amputate only when they had too. That's the most normal response.

    Its not extremely dangerous to go under general anesthesia while pregnant, especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimester. It’s not ideal, but that’s one of the things anesthesiologists train for. Usually this show is fairly accurate from a medical point of view so that comment really stuck out.

    Honestly, I think it's stupid to prioritize the baby over the mother. As parents, of course you'd want to do anything to protect your child, but would you really leave your spouse to raise the child alone? There are plenty of alternatives even if the baby doesn't make it. It's crazy how many people in these shows don't look towards adoption or surrogacy.

    Tv hospital shows are so unrealistic with the big observation window where family can watch surgery. Like popping popcorn and watching a movie.

      @chrissycopeland8064 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It USED to be that way in some hospitals, especially if it's a teaching hospital so that med students can watch and learn

    I have no children of my own. But is it realistic that each and every pregnant woman in medical shows chooses her unborn baby over her own life and it is the husband that needs to convince her to survive? Sometimes it's even women in the first trimester that prefer dying over losing her foetus...

    If they can look at the picture that fast and say they can tell you the gender of the baby, then it’s already ruined. It’s a boy.
