ma'am your playing is excellent & so soothing to ears.Would you mind asking a question about playing piano? I'm a self thought keyboardist & have somewhat knowledge about chords, intervals & scales.I can manage to play a melody from right hand while holding down chords from left hand. But while watching your videos ,I realized that you are playing left hand chords/arpeggios on few octaves rhythmically while playing few notes together when playing the melody from right hand.It seems keyboard & piano have significantly different techniques & what should I master to play piano music?Thank you
Yes, definitely the art of playing the piano and keyboard has a huge difference although both are keyboard instruments. You have asked a great question. The answer is very wide and deep. If you play a song with chords in the left, it is the very basic style of piano playing. Usually in a song, the left hand in a piano has to bring out the bass, rhythm, character and the style of the song. Sometimes interlude parts and supportive melody parts too. Right hand has to bring out the melody with the feel of the song, dynamics and details. Also Intros and interludes and supportive rhythms to keep the flow of the style. All these approaches differs from one song to another. So in brief, to play in piano style you need to practice chords, scales, arpeggios, different rhythm styles, octave playing, quick jumps etc... You need to improve the strength and the control of your left hand fingers by practicing scales and technical exercises a lot. Keep trying and practicing... Enjoy your playing... All the Best...!😊
@@ChamaliFernando_SoulSounds Thank you for the kind & detailed explanation. As you have mentioned I'm trying my level best to master hand coordination skills. In the beginning, unlike keyboard it's not easy to pay attention on 2 things at the same time.😊 Sometimes I do watch piano lessons from foreign youtube instructors. Most of the times they do improvisations using advanced chord progressions such as added chords ,sus, aug, dim. But when it comes to local sinhalese pop music majority of the songs are composed only using Major,Minor & 7th chords. So I always wonder, how to apply those advanced progressions & improvisations on sinhalese songs. It seems I have to aquire some western fundamentals along with the fingering exercises. Anyway thank you again for spending your precious time on my question.
Excellent♥️
Thank you.😊
