You know the worst thing about looking for a new job as a result of being bullied at your current one? It's the fact that your potential next employer will ask you why you're leaving job and will speak to your employer as well which means that if they're bullies as well they're likely to turn you down while giving you a shit excuse and you'll be trapped in unemployment. It's a shit chain you can only get out of by starting your own business
The HR , isn't there to help the victim , they will 100% to protect the company , beware of signing off after mediation for a pathetic amount of money .
I let my team leader bully me and co workers for over 10 years. After a change in upper management, i decided to speak out and prove that he was not fit for the job. I got a big promotion and am now in charge of health and safety. My advice is speak out as soon as it happens. If you let it happen over years, it will drive you down and you will become unmotivated and hit rock bottom.
This is becoming more and more common with no fair solutions. 9 times out of ten the management would take the side of the bullies. This is why I believe the job market is no longer sustainable. But in the end, the bullies will be the downfall of the corporation with incompetence and bad service after they drive out the good workers.
That is what happened to me. I certainly loved the email that I got from the boss above the boss boss which said I was being too sensitive and that my boss had the right to pull me in her office whenever she wanted to degrade and tear apart every aspect of my work.
I was bullied and harassed 4 yrs ago so badly that my reputation came into question by HR. The co-worker who was bullying me had the nerve to say I was the one harassing her. I've now been sent back to the same location. There is a new boss but I am afraid the same co-worker will still be there and I will have to work with her again. Thank you for giving options on how to deal with this issue.
I experienced much of this in my previous job of 12 years. There came a point when I realized that no one was going to intervene on my behalf. Not even my manager who I thought was a friend. Some time has passed, and in time, my feelings of betrayal, disappointment, and hurt will dissipate. I am eager to move on from this experience.
I am currently in psychotherapy working on how I have been seriously bullied by two of my previous managers/VP. There should be serious testing of aspects such as emotional intelligence for potential leadership. Otherwise people can suffer greatly.
I walked out of a job due to being bullied by a manager. Even when there was a public petition to get him sacked by MPs and other business leaders due to unrelated issues it took them over 5 years to finally get rid of him. This job also had 12 hours unpaid overtime per week and similar horrors. The long and short is bullying and toxic workplaces are everywhere. It's not just bullying but also narcissistic traits which are very difficult for employers to recognise and actively deal with.
This is one of the best videos I watched on workplace bullying. A lot of people advocate doing nothing in response to bullying or to find another job. This is the only video, that explains the repercussions of ‘doing nothing’
“… It’s not your fault. and not your job to fix it. Your employer has a legal responsibility to provide a safe workplace for you which includes a workplace where you’re not bullied…”. THIS IS THE BEST SENTENCE I’ve HEARD. ⭐️
This has helped allot getting harassed intimidated at work currently off with stress. My manager just doesnt like me and is easily influenced by toxic colleagues. No performance reviews just hearsay and opinions. Not sure on next steps until I return.
I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD at 52, I have been Bullied for many years I've worked for my employer for 30 years. After I sought a grievance, this was investigated and nothing came of this. I have now been investigated for making a complaint. I am now perceived to be Vexatious towards the people who have targeted me. I feel worse than before, with added on stress....
I am sorry to hear what you are going through. My husband is going through the same thing. It is heartbreaking to see him suffer. Those people on top, they protect each other. If you couldn't change your job, maybe see a psychologist for help. Talk to your doctor to see if you could go on stress leave.
I'm a healthy vegan and so are my partner and his son (who runs ultramarathons). Maybe I can send you a picture and then you can no longer say that you have never seen a healthy vegan.
Sorry to hear it. Colleagues are not friends. Most of them stay silent, they are afraid to speak up for the victim, in case they are the next to be picked.
Best video I watched on bullying and harassment because : it tells me that my employer has a legal responsibility to have a safe workplace for me and it’s not my responsibility to stop the behaviour.
escalating straight to HR is a bad idea unless a majority of the team reports similar behaviour, remember that HR will side with the management of a company, my suggestion would be to consult an employment lawyer.
Unfortunately, bullying is a problem everywhere. Also in Germany. If you draw attention to it, you will not be protected. Then the executives stand on their side and join in bullying. I think that's bad. I'm currently in a current situation and the company is trying to get rid of me.
I can't recommend Daniel highly enough - he won't recall the detail and I appreciate my anonymity here, but he acted for me in an Unfair Dismissal tribunal many years ago. I'm sad that I actually came across this page because I'm being bullied at work - again. Many years later and a league of experience between - but I can absolutely vouch for Daniel - he went straight to the heart of the matter in court and it was almost job done before it started. Thank you Daniel!
You can also prosecute someone under the health and safety act 1974 if bulling and harassment has caused mental health injury but will need to prove it by GP reports.
Yes the best thing you can do in this situation is find another job. Replace the bad experience with a good one - otherwise your self confidence really takes a bashing.
@@joannefong7678 But if you actually manage to find another job you basically won't have any rights when you start & no entitlement to redundancy payment. And you could be bullied again in the next job. I think mangers, supervisors tend to bully people they know won't do anything about it
Unfortunately in the US there is NOTHING a person can do about bullying. It's horrible. I have trauma from it that actually caused a head injury. And I am of course having to go find another job, even though now I apparently have problems. Now given, I was abused and bullied for years. Not just mild bullying. But, it's hard. Because I have all the ramifications, the bully will have none. That's the way it is. It's always the aggressive behaviors that for some reason are okay. I can't imagine treating a human being like that. But some people don't care.
I'm not sure that's right in the current economic climate; lots of people are out of work for a year - and it can often be a year until the case reaches a tribual. But you're right that getting the cap is far from certain.
@@DanielBarnettLaw I'm from Canada. What is your advice? Same here being bullied, mobbed, gaslighting, harassed at the hospital for over 12 years. I've happened to be the top worker for 38 years and have never been suspended. These bullies are jealous and miserable people. Union, manager, HR and the police are all totally useless. Bullies are lazy bums and stupid managers are scared of the bullies. They say about me I'm crazy, I drink, I'm a stalker all bs defamation of character. The biggest mistake since they removed disciplinary measures. They should arrest the bullies and fire the manager. Action speaks louder than nasty words. It destroyed my reputation. I will never quit to make these lazy bums ever win. If I decide to transfer to another hospital and may start gaslighting, smearing and bullying me once again, I don't know all the new managers etc. like in every department like now. So best to not change hospitals. I will never let bullies try to control me from quitting. Just don't react and not try to defend yourself which will only go back and forth making me look even more guilty. Action always speaks louder than words. Just best ignore them and find another easier target. Never let these low life lazy coward bums ever win.
I have been bullied since October. I went to my HR who said I was just being paranoid. I took this to heart. The bullying carried on and got worse over time. To the point in a meeting in HR office (about something else). When one of the bullies rip into me about my work. The HR manage just sat and watched, then piping in how she could find me more things to do. Then when I had to collect a key from HR manager, a few days later. She was totally sarcastic to me. That was the final straw. I found a new job, they asked for reference from the so called company before I had handed in my notice. The next day my job was up, being advertised for replacing me. Even though I had not handed notice because not had job offer. I have only 3 weeks left there but lots of staff are just blanking me. I feel scared but at least there is light at the end of the tunnel.
thank you, that was very useful bunch of information, just what I need now. I'm actually going through that stage now having claimed a formal grievance about my manager not taking my safety concerns at work seriously placing me at the station that hasn't been properly secured against my will, which I know it's illegal, and since he's learned there's a formal grievance against him he's started bullying me making my life miserable and a time at work stressful
I was bullied in my first year working for an airline in Canada. My manager was supportive as there were prior incidents with other people who claimed the same bully was mistreating. I was supported in filing an investigation and it took 6 months. Eventual outcome was that it was not a case where disciplinary action could be done but it did stop the behavior. I still work with that bully and if another incident flares up, i wont hesitate to raise the alarm again. My boss did compliment me for bravery in formally complianing. My message is this.....please say something and report. Think about all the other people affected. Because its usually not just one person targeted. We have to stop this bottoms up, as a collective.
Yep! Female working in an old British institution. Misogyny is rife. Last year I was harassed and stalked- he was dismissed. This year I'm a target for sticking up for myself, nipping it in the bud....🤷♀️ what's tricky is a combination of unchecked misogyny and people with narcissistic traits. Find allies and find them fast. Don't be afraid to see who will stand by you. Don't need to explain why you feel something, if you feel it, you feel it.
Had a new supervisor who was a bully. Made a grievance to new manager. Guess what? He was a bigger bully. He made up rules that didn't exist and applied them only to me. Complained to the union who were afraid of the company and they suggested I take it to an outside agency (unnamed). When you are in a union, your recourses are limited as you are expected to go through the union. This has an effect that some employers encourage having a union and then 'get in bed' with the union. My shop steward was a department manager. Hellooooo.......
I notice effective communication is a struggle in our culture and more companies should recognize this is becoming commonplace amongst employees. Conflict resolution and bullying prevention should be discussed weekly before it sinks ships, so to speak.
Impressive stuff as always! Thank you. Can't agree with the 'independent trade union, Workplaceaffinity' - join a TUC Trade Union that can negotiate your TACOS! But, we are as one on your concerns re mediation. I'm an ADR accredited mediator and think mediation is a very powerful tool - but I fundamentally believe it's contraindicated in unresolved 'justice' issues such as discrim or bullying. The power imbalance is too great; the lack of resolution too destabilising. Solid stuff though. Thanks, again.
I have experienced that myself and few years ago I had enough and I walked out.The work environment I had to deal with was not good.I lost my Mum to a heart attack a good while ago thankfully before the Covid I use to Volunteer in a charity shop and someone Was not really nice to me about my mum and he told me to F of on the shop floor in front of everyone but the Manager didn't fire him for his gross conduct I am so Disappointed in that shop. And the Staff were so lazy messing with their mobile phones while being on the shop floor and not keeping an eye on the shop floor.I had enough of that shop I am glad I left that dump of a shop
I was the IT director of a local County government. A new Commissioner was elected, who immediately target me, and started bullying and undermining me. Drop new projects for the department, then cut my budget. After 2 years of that 1 commissioner constantly bullying me, I gave up and quit. He made it completely impossible for me to be successful at my job. Now I am at another local government with a GREAT job, but over a thousand miles from my family and home.
Hi I’ve just started in care , so much too take in, company was nice , then I noticed carers talking to clients about me, saying I’m not learning fast enough, so a senior staff, started demanding I do this , in front of the carer, had me in tears the second time, we are meant to go, around in one car, but she insisted , are cars only, getting to the client, talking about me, 4 weeks ago I lost my dad, 5 years ago I lost my son, never felt so humiliated , bosses rather pull me down too, saying my work, is not good enough, I’ve done my fair share , in the clients houses, no feed back or support, 3 weeks in, never being a carer, they sent me on a single , I couldn’t cope , please help, they had clients , being so rude to me, dint go in to care to be abused, please help
It’s happening to me now. I just get ignored so it’s not shouting or anything. But I just get ignored and when I try to speak nobody answers me and blatantly ignores me. I’m so unhappy
@@clairegray1253 I would be really interested in reading your findings if you're up for sharing. I find that dissertation has a certain honesty to them from the writer's perspective.
At the moment I'm going through a worsening case of being bullied. I'm so stressed out that I can't sleep. Sometimes I go 2 to 3 days without sleep. I started to experience anxiety attacks. The worst thing is that the bully isn't even our company's employee but boss's other company employee. She shares a office with me and my colleague. I don't know for what reason but my colleague joined her. Today they basically accused of stealing, saying I can't be alone in the office cause I might steal, so one of them always have to be there with me to watch me. I've never stolen a thing. They also keep destroying my work tools and papers. And of course insulting me is a daily routine. I'm thinking about quitting because I have no other choice. I haven't reported it yet cause I know it's useless. The management doesn't care.
Hurt people hurt people. Narcassism is a deadly form of manipulation and it’s everywhere in this world. I hate the people at my workplace. I work 3 times as hard as anyone else there, get taken advantage of and quiet fired by managers. So much favoritism goes on. It’s best to stay silent, write down every detail of workplace harassment and keep to yourself.
There are no real options (or not very many) for US Americans 😢 I don't know what to do. I'm hoping my HR department can actually do something, but the general standard in the US is that HR will not do anything to help. I'm really making a try. Wish me luck. I'll probably lose my job over standing up and saying something.
00:55 I already feel validated. My boss is extremely charming and influential but he does all these things. That's it. I'm going to a tribunal. It's a small business without HR.
As a trainee manager coming in to a large utility company and being perceived badly because I got a job that people thought was a fast-track (a 5 year training programme btw!) to management without 'doing my time on the tools', I was bullied by the whole team I was placed in to learn on the job. This included by both union reps! I was too scared and inexperienced to call it out at the time and so it went on for years. My career nosedived for a decade as a result of the residual trauma of it. Never let it slide!
this video makes me feel a bit more confident about my situation, ive had a handful of incidents with my manager where my manager has physically shoulder barged before holding his face within an inch of mine having a go at me and attacking my personality, now im not a perfect human being but i always try my best to act as sensibly as i can in these situations, and im not always successful because of how intense my manager gets with me and i have limits. ive tried to go down the formal route multiple times and my employers fail to deal with the situations, i cant afford the legal route, and im very much backed into a corner, what the hell do i do with this, its hugely impacting my wellbeing
Thanks for video, what is your advice if a boss just ignore when you tell her/him about the bullying? Bad leadership..I dont see much hope in that situation!?
Excellent video. Are there not two other possible forms of legal redress in the civil courts namely the Tort of Intentional Harm/vicarious liability and also a negligence claim against employers for breach of duty to act if they have knowledge of psychiatric illness from the bullying?
Hello Daniel again!!! Well I've been bullied for most of my life. If started at school, got worse and still is happening and I'm sixty five!!!! Have had to get counseling over the years too, very painful Indeed! It does effect your whole life honestly paula in sussex
Awesome video . Someone name some best solicitors in the country 🇬🇧 as want to help someone to who is being bullied . I have asked for all written record . Bullies need to be shown their place .
I was wondering, being a victim of this myself, for no apparent reason, could this be a policy in itself to draw people out of the company on their own? Because I see that the company is actually wasting money in training, in wages, even, making tasks incredibly difficult, almost pointing the way out, but does not fire people. It's a firm with thousands of workers. I'd love an opinion on this matter please! Thank you ❣️
Yes but it’s not a policy it’s just an unethical practice called managing out. They want you to quit. They’re making your life miserable. Beat them to the punch and get a new job ASAP.
I recently got prescribed Beta Blockers after going through an intense period of the weirdest type of passive-aggressive bullying I have ever thought possible. I need to find representation. I have recorded EVERYTHING (taken for my own personal notes.) basically it is against one of the most criticized (and most wealthy) councils in the UK. I definitely have an interesting case to be taken forward.

I Raised a Grievance in regards to an employee who was bullying me. My Manager swept it under the carpet and didn’t respond. I work in a large company and I feel I’m being targeted at as the company is restructuring and doing away with my department, they’ll end up with a constructive dismissal case which I know I will win. I’m part of a external union now and they have there own internal union which I don’t trust one bit…….I think it’s wise I’m looking for another job…..never had any problems before….great advice from Daniel: Any advice would be great cheers 👍 I’m hearing lots of people hate there jobs now, this is becoming the norm
Question so if you have a union contract and MUST quit without notice due to bullying what happens then. It’s still constructive dismissal? And I’m talking real harassment out of your job.
I'm a Town Clerk and being bullied by an individual member of the Council, the Town Council has no remedies available to them to prevent his behaviour, putting the rest of the Council and myself in an extremely difficult position. What can be done to stop this and obtain a remedy?
You should also consider joining UNISON, the Local Government worker's union. They would not be able to represent you in an EXISTING case - but if the Council member's behaviour affects others, they might well take it up as a wider issue.
It’s not always like that it can be more about work load. with me it always extra work I have taken on the work a lot but said no recently and that went bad quickly. . They never appreciate or remember what I’ve done already. Made me work on site in the pandemic. All others had home working. Now I’m told to take on a second job from a retiree and fit it In mine for nothing. It’s so uncomfortable now. HR are not helpful
My client is on minimum wage and works in a school kitchen for 35 hours/week, employed by a contract company. She and 5 colleagues were called to a meeting where one staff member was publicly dismissed on grounds of redundancy and the rest were all asked to sign a contract for 25 hours there and then. Due to the intimidation and bullying atmosphere of that scenario they all signed , then realised they cannot live on that income. Any suggestions to add to what I have sent in response please? see below: -- These are bullying tactics (no other word for it) of your employer. It is a recognised but unprofessional method to pick on one person in public in order to scare the rest into submission. As an adviser, I can be almost 100% sure that the person picked on had less than 2 years service with the employer, because anyone who is dismissed needs 2 years service in order to make a complaint of unfair dismissal. Which brings me on to this: - for your group of 6 please list (with their initials if they are not also our direct clients): each person's start date of employment. It will be on the front of their contracts if you were all issued with one. - The next piece of advice is very important to distinguish between those who have and those who have not had 2 years, and I suggest you each make your own minds up. Any action carries something of a risk to the employment, and employers often take the calculated gamble that some people may resign (they might want that) or claim unfair dismissal. - By cutting your hours and getting your agreed signatures it does on the face of it make it very difficult to claim that you are not being treated in accordance with your contract, because you signed. However the forced signatures with the threat of redundancy if you didn't, put it in a different light. - As I understand the meeting where you were bullied was in the half term, it might be seen that you waited too long to make a fuss. If there is a serious problem which goes to the heart of the contract there should be an immediate response. I note that you have been in correspondence with HR. The dates of that correspondence will probably show that you did not wait long. The other aspect is of course the impact on your earnings. > Do you get paid monthly or at other intervals (weekly/fortnightly/4-weekly etc?). - From what date did the new hours take effect? Can you send me: > a copy of the agreement you signed and your original contract? Are the contracts for the others all the same? > a copy of the correspondence (probably emails) with HR? > What date was the meeting where you signed the change? - I can draft something which you and your colleagues can sign and send to HR if you are all in agreement. Please ensure that all of them know the risk to being dismissed especially for those with no ability to make an unfair dismissal claim (less than 2 years service). It is called an official grievance, and you should look at your contract and/or company handbook or similar if you have one, and read what it says about who to put a grievance to. If in doubt, send it to HR to the person you have been dealing with. - It will say something like On receipt of a grievance the company is supposed to arrange a formal grievance meeting (see the process in your contract or handbook). You can also check the ACAS guidance to grievance procedures: www.acas.org.uk/grievance-procedure-step-by-step After a grievance meeting the company is supposed to then give its decision on your grievance. They can either accept it, propose a compromise or reject it. If you do not get out of it what you asked, you will at that stage each have to consider the options: putting up with the situation; looking for other work; or resigning in response and if possible claiming 'Constructive' unfair dismissal. I would have to give further advice at that stage for you to know what the implications and potential benefits and problems of that action might be. DANGER: As above, there is a risk of being dismissed. Or they might pick on one/some of you to dismiss for reasons whatever they can find which they will of course say is not linked to this, even for those with long service. ADVANTAGE: Sticking together of course has the benefit that you are a group affected by the same issue. Are there any other employees not part of your group of 6? best wishes Gillian Employment Caseworker
I can name every single person for 7 yrs ,I have no manager every single one has made I work with sick disgusting nasty people and neighbors ,I got news flash self infilicted bullying by really stupid nasty people and some others disgusting
I was told by a solicitor that there is no such thing as bullying and any claim has to be related to a protected characteristic. Was this incorrect? Can you bring a constructive dismissal claim for bullying not related to a protected characteristic?
Yes, you can bring a constructive dismissal claim for bullying which is not related to a protected characteristic, if the bullying is serious enough to breach the implied term of trust and confidence and if you've got at least two years' employment behind you.
There may be a misunderstanding there in the original conversation with the lawyer. There IS no law against bullying per se. Remedy is achieved through equality legislation for discriminatory bullying or health and safety legislation. Constructive dismissal is often overlooked because of the risks involved. As Daniel said in the video, if you lose, you've just walked out of a job. However, if the situation is intolerable, it may be the only solution.
Hi everyone, I have a question and just want your opinion from if possible Daniel and anyone else feel free to comment. I feel that this statement is discriminatory, “If you aren’t happy or don’t like this place, stop doing your current job (I am a supervisor), if you want leave” - from my manager. Now this is where I struggle to understand because I am disabled which they know I declared it, I have Asperger’s and other mental health issues. Now I understand to a point, if I come across rude or negative because that is how I am sometimes without knowing, I don’t pay attention to social cues as good, don’t understand when I annoy people etc. But essentially what they are saying, if you are struggling with your disability which I have good days and bad as we all do, rather than going how can we support you, they did ask if there is anything wrong which I didn’t comment because they are several things which are poorly managed, and I would of put it across in a inappropriate way the way I was feeling. But I feel that is discriminatory, just want Daniel’s opinion and anyones really. I am apart of a trade union.
Just thought I'd point out that the two-year qualifying period is only applicable to a constructive unfair dismissal claim. A constructive dismissal wrongful dismissal claim may be brought for notice rights. Although touched upon, it is often tha case that employees allege bullying because they either cannot or are reluctant to obey reasonable and lawful orders. Often, such allegations are used as a vehicle for attacking a colleague or manager who is holding the employee to proper account.
I’m Muslim my supervisor repeatedly made comments about my beard (look at your beard,l said l like it,she said makes me look old l said lm fine then she said you would look younger if l shave l said lm ok then said to me you lost the plot! ) l complain but my complaint dismissed under the guise of banter.I went to Acas their lawyer said this comments not only myself but there’s was a native staff also towards him (lied)l taken to AT but lawyers said no prospect of success not continue..lm disappointed l just can’t understand.
Clear and insightful Thank you I’d also say Use local policy and ensure org follows it too, and complies with ACAS gold standard CoP. - Not doing do warrants ETs to award higher by25% to the plaintiff
I have issues seeing things for what they are... once I realize who the bullies are its hard for me to just ignore... that being said its managers, board members, coworkers and its very sad. because it puts you in a place that will garuntee retaliation from the bullies. when you stick up for whats right you either come out on top or they gang on you. so what do you do? I am dealing with an insane amount of stress. I don't like bullies and I don't like "letting" it slide. if I wanted I could probably get the place in alot of legal trouble.. but then you got a whole new series of stress which I've experienced because I. ever hesitate sticking up for what's right. I know its not my job but as a man I can't just be ok with certain things..
bit misleading he starts of with the equality act saying that harassment is illegal...that is only if its a protective characteristic which means it does not apply to most people...ITs politically correct protection basically...so if it racism, sexism, religion, sexuality etc....which will only be 1 percent of workplace bullying...very diasspointed that he made out its for everyone and its not...there are virtually no laws to protect from bullying and harassment Yes there are some but most people lose..The legal profession are never practical of give good solid info...WHY they make lots of money from doing the opposite so they get the work.
Hi Daniel, have you heard the term I will golliwog up with blank later. I received an email with this communication in it , which I find very desressfull . A second email was received 2 minutes later with no apologie in relation to the first email. Now I truly believe this was not a typo error. I have made my reservations known to my employer, what action are they likely to take? The email came from a work colleague.
Im not vaccinated. Work in hospital. Boss threatened me to get vaccinated or ill be out of job.I told her I'm on antibiotics. It's dangerous. I am afraid as I could end up in ICU or die.Her response it's not her problem. Regardless I die, I have choice to make. Bc of this my colleagues told me I should stay home.Boss gives me un realistic work loads for example; giving me 25 patient. Now my colleagues are calling me names.Fat ugly, etc...I get laughed at. A nurse approached me and told me what they doing. I'm depressed. I thought of ending my life....
Sandra I am praying 🙏🏾 for you, the environment that you are in is highly toxic & is very unhealthy. Please hang in there & get the help that you both need & deserve. If the quickest resolve to preserve the quality of your life is just quitting then leave. There will be other doors that open just like that one did. You are valuable & know one has the right to bully you. Please seek help bc it doesn’t get better with those type of individuals. 🙏🏾

And ifthe managers are the bullyies
Congratulations on your promotion. That bully was trying to bring you down because you're a good worker and devoted to your job.
Yes, advocate quickly, or move on. I wished I had. Now....I have little recourse, and little energy to fight. I've not been well...for a while.
Dear I'm also facing such issue from my Project Officer ,
What Should I do ?
Be careful I spoke out and my employer a council in Essex tried to get rid of me
This is becoming more and more common with no fair solutions.
My boss tried and stopped when I set boundaries. I eventually left the company.
@@doloresjanet Absolutely! I agree with you, Dolores!! It's too bad that these employers....set the bar so low!
Bullies are narcs
I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD at 52,
I have been Bullied for many years I've worked for my employer for 30 years.
After I sought a grievance, this was investigated and nothing came of this.
I have now been investigated for making a complaint.
I am now perceived to be Vexatious towards the people who have targeted me.
I feel worse than before, with added on stress....
I’m sorry this is happening. Sounds like a good time to look for a new job. This can’t be repaired unfortunately
My ❤ goes out to you, I got diagnosed a few months ago and got harassed and discriminated for it 😢 I hope you're in a better position now
Best video I watched on bullying and harassment because : it tells me that my employer has a legal responsibility to have a safe workplace for me and it’s not my responsibility to stop the behaviour.
escalating straight to HR is a bad idea unless a majority of the team reports similar behaviour, remember that HR will side with the management of a company, my suggestion would be to consult an employment lawyer.
Unfortunately, bullying is a problem everywhere. Also in Germany. If you draw attention to it, you will not be protected. Then the executives stand on their side and join in bullying. I think that's bad. I'm currently in a current situation and the company is trying to get rid of me.
Me to .but I must admit my union is standing toe to toe with me
At least I'm not alone
What about narcissists at work?
Gaslighting the defendant is rife - by the prosecution TEAM
Bullies are narcissists
I can't recommend Daniel highly enough - he won't recall the detail and I appreciate my anonymity here, but he acted for me in an Unfair Dismissal tribunal many years ago. I'm sad that I actually came across this page because I'm being bullied at work - again. Many years later and a league of experience between - but I can absolutely vouch for Daniel - he went straight to the heart of the matter in court and it was almost job done before it started. Thank you Daniel!
Thank you, whomever you are. Do drop me an email and tell me… and sorry to hear you’re still having troubles at work n
You can also prosecute someone under the health and safety act 1974 if bulling and harassment has caused mental health injury but will need to prove it by GP reports.
Good point.
Also - Common Law tort.
True but OH trumps GP
Some workplaces confuse bullying with having high standards.
Yes. These are people who take a week to reply an email.
I agree just get another job, the stress involved in raising a grievance is worse I agree mediation is crap
Yes the best thing you can do in this situation is find another job. Replace the bad experience with a good one - otherwise your self confidence really takes a bashing.
But if you find another job, the job mgiht give you lower salary
@@joannefong7678 But if you actually manage to find another job you basically won't have any rights when you start & no entitlement to redundancy payment. And you could be bullied again in the next job. I think mangers, supervisors tend to bully people they know won't do anything about it
Whistleblowers are targeted

Unfortunately in the US there is NOTHING a person can do about bullying. It's horrible. I have trauma from it that actually caused a head injury. And I am of course having to go find another job, even though now I apparently have problems. Now given, I was abused and bullied for years. Not just mild bullying. But, it's hard. Because I have all the ramifications, the bully will have none. That's the way it is. It's always the aggressive behaviors that for some reason are okay. I can't imagine treating a human being like that. But some people don't care.
I think it's worth adding that the compensation for unfair constructive dismissal is rarely anywhere near the cap or a year's pay.
So what actually happened in the end?
@jessicaras4540 wise words ❤
@jessicaras4540 I left and found a better job....
Ooohh... how evil! The older I get, the more I'm learning everything is a scam. Especially when it comes to making money.
What if the manager lies about you?
You're a bloody legend mate. Cheers 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Thanks, time to do something about this once and for all.
I'm sick due to mobbing, looking for a new job
Hope you're okay

@jessicaras4540 Thank you, so you don’t think I should leave a bad review?
Wow
I would consider contacting a lawyer who works on contingency
Thanks for video, what is your advice if a boss just ignore when you tell her/him about the bullying? Bad leadership..I dont see much hope in that situation!?
Excellent video. Are there not two other possible forms of legal redress in the civil courts namely the Tort of Intentional Harm/vicarious liability and also a negligence claim against employers for breach of duty to act if they have knowledge of psychiatric illness from the bullying?

Mahalo for this!

Hi Francesca. Sorry to hear that. Have you contacted the SLCC?
You should also consider joining UNISON, the Local Government worker's union. They would not be able to represent you in an EXISTING case - but if the Council member's behaviour affects others, they might well take it up as a wider issue.

@@999timepass thank you! You are so sweet.
Any suggestions to add to what I have sent in response please? see below:
-- These are bullying tactics (no other word for it) of your employer.
Which brings me on to this:
- for your group of 6 please list (with their initials if they are not also our direct clients):
each person's start date of employment.
Can you send me:
> a copy of the agreement you signed and your original contract? Are the contracts for the others all the same?
> a copy of the correspondence (probably emails) with HR?
> What date was the meeting where you signed the change?
- I can draft something which you and your colleagues can sign and send to HR if you are all in agreement. Please ensure that all of them know the risk to being dismissed especially for those with no ability to make an unfair dismissal claim (less than 2 years service). It is called an official grievance, and you should look at your contract and/or company handbook or similar if you have one, and read what it says about who to put a grievance to. If in doubt, send it to HR to the person you have been dealing with.
- It will say something like
On receipt of a grievance the company is supposed to arrange a formal grievance meeting (see the process in your contract or handbook). You can also check the ACAS guidance to grievance procedures: www.acas.org.uk/grievance-procedure-step-by-step
After a grievance meeting the company is supposed to then give its decision on your grievance.
Are there any other employees not part of your group of 6?
best wishes
Gillian

I can name every single person for 7 yrs ,I have no manager every single one has made I work with sick disgusting nasty people and neighbors ,I got news flash self infilicted bullying by really stupid nasty people and some others disgusting
Same situation here. The interviews made me more sick answering ridiculous questions.
7:40 a much under-rated option. If you don't fit, quit.
Hi everyone,
I have a question and just want your opinion from if possible Daniel and anyone else feel free to comment.

You're ignoring the determined bully
…
go sick thats what i do
bit misleading he starts of with the equality act saying that harassment is illegal...that is only if its a protective characteristic which means it does not apply to most people...ITs politically correct protection basically...so if it racism, sexism, religion, sexuality etc....which will only be 1 percent of workplace bullying...very diasspointed that he made out its for everyone and its not...there are virtually no laws to protect from bullying and harassment Yes there are some but most people lose..The legal profession are never practical of give good solid info...WHY they make lots of money from doing the opposite so they get the work.
What if someone had an abortion and told their manager and their personal information was used against them
Hi Daniel, have you heard the term I will golliwog up with blank later.
If what they are saying & doing is creating thoughts of you hurting yourself, it’s time to get HELP! You need to take action immediately & talk to someone that is unbiased about your status & that can direct you to the proper resources for work related bullying. 🙏🏾
I'm from Canada. If I decide to transfer to another hospital and may start mobbing me once again, I don't know all the new managers etc. like in every department like now. So best to not change hospitals. I will never let bullies try to control me from quitting. Never let these low life lazy bums win ever win.w
