Say what you want about John...he always had the smarts to surround himself with incredibly talented musicians...Martin's drumming on these tracks is KICK ASS!
Say what you want? He's one of the grestest rockers of all time, and the public face of the punk movement in the 70s. After the Pistols, great musicians flocked to him! Keith Levene being by far the best! Jah Wobble is a close second.

Complaining old crusty people are too precious about music continuing for some reason! This is fucking ace! Dust off the cobwebs!! PiL were fantastic at Blackpool Rebellion punkfest in 2019 even!!! The SOUND was incredible!
Hey Tha Pistols, Pil. Is him. He is John. Part of my life, every day. Except when I feed my dog. But my doggo is turning punk. Just didn't notice. Owh you silly thing. Good pooch. Hey
@@kieron63 Had that on video for years, the session musician band. The punks in the crowd with DK on his jacket. Still remember it with Anarchy with keys. Bass player had a bleached mullet.
Lydon briefly touched upon this in one of the interviews. Hair Metal and its Hair Bands in the 70s and 80s were a special sort of awful. Punk is my Hair Music. Lydon's doo works well.
Punk was never a real 'movement'. It was labelled by the music industry in order to control and repress it to their own ends. The sheep cashed in and acquiesced, the smart ones refused to be bought and controlled. So 'Punk' still exists within individuals, just not as a 'movement'.
Hrm. I've been thinking as to how tf did I miss 'em wholelly in the 80's. Well. Maybe cause Lydon was an incredibly aggressive squealing piglet in the SP (which made up for a check) and the same Lydon's become a boring squealing piglet in PiL.
innochkafun rambler That's an easy one. You start off with enjoying a band, that had virtually recorded one proper album. You follow its singer's trail to another band and listen up to a few of its early albums. Those are ok, but nowhere near the original band. Eventually you forget about that second band for decades. Then it pops up in your "recommended videos" while you're watching smth 80ish. You click it and it plainly embarresses you.
This is far superior to the current pil.. John's voice is now totally broken in my opinion, his vocal delivery now is almost spoken and whinning... Watched lots of clips of the current UK 2022 tour and it ain't for me.. Sorry!!
Even now when they're all old and the sound is not the same, I'd still pay money for a Sex Pistols ticket, but not this crap. I will admit, I do like Rise, This is not a Love Song, and Public Image.

He's the real deal punk. He does not give a rat's tush about others' opinions. Ever the outsider. Try that on for size, poseurs.

During Bodies, Lydon sounds younger than he did with Sex Pistols
Ta mate.🙏

It's amazing that one guy had so much to do with developing punk and post-punk. Most bands are lucky to record one decent song.
It wasn't 1 guy, you can't take for granted the rest of the Pistols and PiL members, John didn't play the music he just did the words
True….absolutely true….

I saw them in Newcastle Australia in 1984. Brilliant show. He was so charismatic, you couldn’t take your eyes off him
Not a bad concert, Lydon put on a good show with an awesome band who should've been on the albums in the 80"s.

Wow!! What a great band and version of PiL. Almost as great as the original line up.
We saw PiL in Milwaukee during college in the late 80s. They were awesome, of course!
I just saw Martin Atkins was in this version of PiL. I met him many moons back..great guy. Saw Pigface too..Awesome!!
wierd as it is,martin became my stepbrother a few years back, and i too play the drums, ironic.lol
Amazing...Martin knows me! You have quite an inspiration there to live up to.
not really.i live in the uk.he's in chicago.so our paths dont cross.he's offered to put something together between us.but that was a long way back.
Fantastic download, this was one of my favourite periods of PiL

This is weird but I like Johnny rotten that's why I am here
It’s amusing that he went from punk to disco basically. Good show!
Has a bit of the flavor of Talking Heads. John Lydon is an icon!
