Would have liked a bit more detail on this video... What depth he was fishing and how the depth of the water translates to clipping your fishing rods and spod rods to different ranges to be as accurate as possible?
Iv done this for many years on certain waters, but be careful has I did it last summer on a new venue & everything was going to plan until I clipped it back up only for the double figure carp I thought I was attached to turn into a 25lb catfish, almost ripped the rod right out of my hand, just about managed to unclip before it tore another 30yrds off me, very lucky I didn't go water skiing 😅
Unless your spodding at distance then I would recommend not to use a leader, 25/30lb quality spod braid straight through can cope no problem upto 100yrds with a medium spomb.
Had a few issues when I started you need the right materials for the job set up correctly. Use a leader pointless not to gives you that option of casting to many distances and the massively reduced risk of crack offs when loading the cast. I use braid to braid 20lb main 50lb leader with a back to back grinder the number of turns on the knot will depend on the braid diameter 6 turns minimal. I have the new whiplash pe has a coating no wind knots and super thin I've got the 0.10 so needed ten turns on the grinner knot to hold then a 0.18 leader. Line clips can be responsible for cut offs so wrap the braid 2 to 3 times round the clip. Look up Terry Edmonds for more info fb is good his the goto for casting braid ect. Hope this helps I had a mare with spombs and braid done these things 0 issues now don't even need to wet the braid anymore.
Carl Graham I use Whiplash 8 in 35lb straight through with no issues with wind knots or crack offs but vitally important you keep wetting it. If you prefer to use a leader then I would highly recommend the Mahin knot aka the carrot knot, Gardner tackle have a video of it on TH-cam so we’ll worth checking out, hope that helps👍🏻
Really great video. What do you do with the Bait you do not introduce in the Session? For example you prepare about 2 kilogram of Bait but your spot do not start reacting on it and you got half of your Bait remaining or more, what do you do with it?
It's clearly shrink tube. There isn't a silicone that thin that you could pass back & too over the eye and you can see from the stiffness of it it's definitely shrink.
Rob you say your hook change is a quick process. Did you shrink tube the hook if so how do you take it off and put a new one on? I would think it would be difficult to remove after heat shrinking it ? Thanks
@@bendunwoody215 that is clearly shink tube on his close up. There isn't a silicone on the market than thin that you could pass back & forth over the eye of the hook.
Are you just literally piercing the braided section to allow you to change hooks or have you looped it then passed it through the eye to add the hook I can’t exactly tell from the video?
What a session Rob absolutely megga mate and your bang on mate all the others are in there bivvys wen your still out putting it together. They wonder why they don't catch mmmmm nailed it mate well done solid angling 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻
I,d like to know the knot he uses to join the loop to the florocarbon ,Albright with less turns ?. Couple of other points , how far is Rob fishing 26 w.raps , which peg ,id guess 13 and the water temp . Bang on the money . 38 Comments Si Murray Add a public comment... Doesn't really give any more info into fishing tight on a spot ie casting other than I'm casting 2ft right 2ft left and puts a good amount of bait in to a good bite water. He's right accuracy is key but that applies to carp fishing anyway I'm sure having areas ropped off helps to.
Not a good idea putting line back in to the clip when playing a carp as u just don't know if it would go on a mad run and ur line is stuck in the clip, I believe it should be band as it puts the carp in danger of having its mouth pulled off 😈😈😈😈
Doesnt make it easy mate, been down there for 48 hrs before and hardly anyone round the lake is catching. Your fishing still has to be spot on to get hauls like this

One of the best fishing vids I have seen for a while great information and well filmed 🎣
Love the idea of marker elastic and clipping back up when your playing a fish in 😁 great tip cheers Rob and what a session 👏

Yep , super efficient and saves the wrap up or a cast .
Robs a top bloke and a top angler. Well in mate
Banger of a session. Anyone know the peg on b2 and how many wraps??
Great vid, great angler and a natural in front of the camera!!
Great vid mate, learnt a lot, just a question.. do you have slack lines?. Thanks
Rob / CARPologyTV really could do with a vid on a spod set up I’m having trouble with crack offs due to my knots
Are you making sure that all your leader line is above the knot on the spool before casting out?
@@zaheerbangie5305 agree, he better using spod braid no leader

Freeze it
Wot an epic session bang on mate can’t believe no one had eyes on the water and u had it right off top angling 👌🏻
I’m still stumped with the quick change is that not shrink tubing over the hook or is he using a standard kicker ?

What swim and how many wraps was this??..
What time of year was this ?
Just interested..how many carp/acre is he fishing to? ...(trying to understand relevance of his very impressive tight baiting approach to mine).
It's brasenose 2 so about 100 per acre!
