Thank you so much for making these videos so simple and clear and for NOT having a gross/fried/sticky voice so I can actually listen instead of closed caption. Am not good with math but have to test for promotion opportunities so these are very much appreciated.
hi mr J. I m a 7th grader and i find addition with letters in algebra a little hard so please do a video on that . Here is an example 21b -32 + 7b -20b
Is it supposed to have the same order, if so its 21b- 32 + 7b- 20b, since 21b, 7b and 20b are all equivalent you do them first. so 21b +7b = 28b then me move on to -20b so 28b + -21b = 7b so then theres no more cause none has the same variable so it's just 7b+ 32. Hope this helps. (I think I did it right.)

[00:00] Mr. J explains how to add and subtract negative fractions using common denominators.
[02:50] Adding negative fractions requires finding a common denominator
- Numerators are added while keeping the denominator the same
- The answer should be simplified if possible
- To add negative fractions, find the least common multiple of the denominators
- Rewrite the fractions with the least common denominator
- Add the numerators and simplify the answer
[05:42] How to simplify and write negative fractions
- To simplify, find the common factor and divide both numerator and denominator by it
- Negative fractions can be written with the negative sign in front of the numerator or denominator
[08:31] Equivalent fractions can be found by renaming fractions with a common denominator
- Multiply the bottom and top by the same number to find a common denominator
- Add or subtract the numerators while keeping the denominator the same
- Always simplify the answer if possible by finding the greatest common factor
[11:23] The video explains how to add and subtract negative fractions
- Finding the least common multiple is crucial
- Renaming fractions to have a common denominator is necessary
- Subtracting a negative increases the value
- Simplifying the fraction to its simplest form is the final step
Can you please do word problems
