    You have set the bar very high in terms of providing a detailed look into what effect hydrostatic shock has on the soft tissue of, in this case, a prairie dog. These eleven episodes have all captured the resulting pressure wave caused when a penetrating projectile impacts a living target. This slow motion footage, much like the high speed footage with ballistic gelatin, illustrates the concept that has been debated for years - that of hydrostatic shock - and the accompanying soft tissue and nerve damage it creates. Fantastic camera work! You have gained another subscriber.

    Now this, people, is a proper prairie doggin' video! No bullshit. Just a quick intro, rifles and their specs, then straight to business. I like it!

    You need to RENT OUT this Slow Mo Cam to EVERY TH-cam Hunt Channel. Most of the time the PD is in the hole so quick, you can't tell if it got hit. For YOUR videos, I'm counting the pieces it ends up in. Good Shootin'.

      It's actually not that complicated. I'm using a dedicated Galaxy camera on a Leupold spotter.

    Carnage! Carnage! Carnage! I love seeing "bullet meets brain" videos. They are exciting and you are providing a service to humanity in general. But, it doesn't stop there. You undoubtedly stir up the likes of the ASPCA and that pleases me greatly. Nice equipment and perfect camera work. Keep on sniping! Wish there was a safe way to eliminate these pests around residential areas. Suggestions?

    Amazing photography and shooting. I did the same to some woodchucks in my day but didn't have the equipment to photograph it just my trusty 22-250. Many thanks.

      a 22-250trikes fear, lol, i shoot lot less powder for the money is why, and i shoot about 4000 rounds a trip, and i get to see the impact in the scope, but the 22-250 in a hoss :)

    I used to hunt rock chucks in easter WA with a simple Rem 788 .223 with a cheapo Bushnell 3x9. I handloaded Sierra 55-grain SPBTs and those bullets would literally explode the chucks. Ranges were out to 300-350 yards as that was about the limits of the scope, and the chucks were difficult to spot in the rocky bluffs any farther. Ballistic calculations were made by firing the first shot and noting the impact, then make holdover adjustments as required. Pretty much one-shot kills after that unless the wind changed.

    I think the bullet hitting the intended target only takes about 10 fps off it’s velocity.

    OMG this is awesome footage. What camera are you using and what adapter to your spotting scope if you dont mind me asking? I have been looking to get a similar setup to have better footage on gopher hunts.

      @Tomcat-6mm-Arc 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      hey, thank you for watching, do not try the spotting scope way, it sucks, its a leica 24x cam. with optical zoom, do not use dig zoom. there is actually a $2000 model panasonic with a leica 24-30x optical zoom, its by far best for the $$.

    • @precisionphd8332
      @precisionphd8332  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most are between 2-400 yards, although some get curious and pop up within 100.

    • @Tomcat-6mm-Arc
      @Tomcat-6mm-Arc 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@precisionphd8332 in these vids i did get some at 100-150, but i tried to set up on a lil high ground and with a suppressor it works bast to not run the whole herd into their holes if you stay 300 or more, its still easy shooting from a bench. if you want to make them fly, being on higher ground give the impact and force a back stop and it reacts like a spring board and they fly, don know which way they will go but they fly with a dirt back stop vs eye level

    this is def the best vids, and jump started me to make a few, but i dont have a $20K cam, i did like his version of no talking of blab, :) just waking em, his cam is 1000fps, mine is 480fps, and some are full speed filmed, heres a link for some more shooting fun, im non monetized only for fun, Tomcat - UC92gKLWNMB7ioevrn9hFhnQ

      Varmint bullets are thin jacketed bullets that come part at velocities above 3500fps and dump all the energy in the body. It’s factual footage.
