Hello, what should I do if the dwgs that I linked from CAD to Revit, arrive as broken or crooked?
I mean, the lines in CAD that have 0,90,180, and 270 degree angles are supposed to be straight lines, right? Also, every corner and curve that are supposed to be meeting have ended up not meeting in Revit.
I hope there's a way to solve this. Thank you!

@@RevitHows Hello, I've ended up solving it. Turns out, precision in AutoCAD is the key. I adjusted the decimal points to 4 zeroes, then I saw that all angles are near straight---more or less discrepancies.

Yes it is possible, and that is most often the workflow in Revit, regardless of the discipline. It's ok to be newbie, everyone starts to be a newbie before they became a master.

@@RevitHows yes sir if i do zoom to fit i can see the inserted file but it is too far from the default lovation where it ahould be. How can i bring it back? Or what should i do so that when i insert. Hello, If cad file is in mm you should specify in mm as well when inserting in revit. Mostly, errors is due to unitless cad or cad files that are in inches.
@@RevitHows please specify your mail I'd I will send that cad, as I tried these all even purge the drawing, changed from LT version to normal cad, changed to meters both revit and cad, every thing done. One file was ok when I changed to normal cad.

hello sir marki, I want to ask a question regarding the problem I'm encountering while inserting cad file into revit2017, the problem is the proxy graphics of cad file I'm inserting and I can not continue working on revit. i already set proxygraphic into 0 and other proxy options into 0 but still did not solve my problem. is there any other way to solve this?

hi sir, thanks for the reply. with regards to proxy graphics dilemma, I solved it already by saving the cad file into a lower version i.e. Auto Cad 2010.

hello, Origin to Origin not lining up when I link cad, I need your help
So sorry, didn't saw your comment until now, usually the cause is the origin of your cad file is different from the revit project base point, you have to match where the location of your project base point in revit!

Hello! I always save as my cad for linking, then establish the origin of cad 0,0 same to where my project base point. So when I insert my cad file to my revit file using PBP to PBP or Origin to origin it will match exactly.
