It's the villages either side of Cromer that are suffering with the erosion. Overstrand to the East. The land has a sand subsoil and is very susceptable to getting washed away in a storm surge. I also think that the water soaking out of the cliffs will allow the slides to develop, but that's theory and not scientific. I wonder if the cliffs were profiled to a less steep angle if that would ease the erosion of the sandy cliffs?
