I am exploring some niche aspects of the subject, as well as offering ‘on location’ accounts of some of my favourite geographical sights.
Regular themes include:
sustainability, ecosystems, natural systems, current Geographical affairs, coastal management, shoreline management plans, sea level rise, environmentalism, land management, statistical tests and much more.

As rain permeates through the layers of soil and hits a layer of London Clay or Red Crag it creates a lubricant and the top section of the cliff slides over the underlying clay. This is called 'slumping' which is also aided by cracks caused by freeze thaw action, animal and bird burrows and wave action at the foot of the cliff. Slumping results in the edge of the cliff breaking away from the to...

Very interesting. Additional "did you know"s about Durdle Door: 1) The name "Durdle" comes from the Old English word 'thirl' that means to pierce or drill. In turn, 'thirl' is derived from 'thyrel' which was the word for hole 2) The sea arch in the scene of the Dothraki wedding feast between Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen on the coast of Pentos in Episode 1 in Game of Thrones was formed the same way as Durdle Door. The real location of the GoT arch is Gozo, Malta where it was called the Azure Window... until it collapsed in 2017 as a result of a storm...
It's the villages either side of Cromer that are suffering with the erosion. Overstrand to the East. The land has a sand subsoil and is very susceptable to getting washed away in a storm surge. I also think that the water soaking out of the cliffs will allow the slides to develop, but that's theory and not scientific. I wonder if the cliffs were profiled to a less steep angle if that would ease the erosion of the sandy cliffs?
Immense geography teaching once again FC. Best geography teacher out there
an instant FC classic
Amazing video! Very informative
Great video 👍
What a video 😮 #geothermalpower
FC returns, and gives us all another quality video #geothermalpower
90% of the video is looking at your mug. Waste of time.
😭The mans teaching geography and flexing his watch at the same time. (Thank you)
Well done for noticing
Hello, if i have two sample sizes that are different in size, what do i do?
Which hotel did you stay at? And what was the hotel like?
This was so helpful, thank you
Great video, why are you wearing 2 watches?
Glad you enjoyed it! Those watches have very different functions! All the best people wear 2 watches...
😭 *Promo SM*
But doesn't it always look like that? Maybe you should have given us some footage from on top of the cliff so we can see where it is now. I haven't been there in a few years but used to live local so I'm very familiar with it's appearance from the park above. There was always sections of the cliff eroding away. If you rumage through that debris it's a great place to find fossils. BTW Did you know, in prehistoric times, this was actually on the banks of the River Thames. At that time the source of the Thames was somewhere near Liverpool and it run through walton and joined the River Rhine on it's way to the sea (yes the North sea didn't exist at that time). What we now call the English Channel was just the delta of the River Rhine.
Love this new style of video!
Talk to us! It's so much more engaging than watching a silent video with captions.
Sorry
Excellent explanation of Hadley cells
April 24 i revisit not been there for 24 years. Good food. 😊 they like beer
❤❤
The air quality was poor before the pandemic broke out, the pandemic forced more people to stop driving and stay at home, the gas consumption plummeted, and the air quality improved. Would This be Negative or Positive. Im thinking its negative feedback but I'm not sure.
Thanks for your videos, informative and not too long.
Thankyou, went there few days back and found fossilised twigs exposed in the base clay, & found lava Kite, thanks to yiur video niw I know what it is, a fascinating place & walk

life saver
why? do u have alevel geo tmo or something
Minehead/Somerset, UK 2023! Surf is definitely up, baby!!
very easy to understand. Thank you
This is what im talking about, love the use of the key concepts (positive feedbacks, equillibrium etc) What is the main focus i should be looking at when studying A Level coasts, for a level?
How would you say that an understanding of feedback systems helps manage the coastline?
An understanding of the coastal system and processes (including feedback) will inform the likely movement and behaviour of sediment, and the amount of erosion that is likely. This can be used to help inform the management strategy for any given section of coast. This information, along with economic analysis and stakeholder viewpoint will help to formulate the SMP.
Thankyou!
why u got two watches?
What are some feedback loops in the water cycle?
I want to learn more about Negative feedbacks relationship with Dynamic Equilibrium....can you do a video on this?? Thats would be very helpful
Great suggestion!
Wģere you buy it mate
If you google the product, you can get it directly from the website - or you certainly could when I bought it.
cheers geez
another strength is it tends to be temporally based and linear to understand the steps and their orders
Thanks mate really helpful video 👍
Great video
Thanks!
There is wine in tunisia and it's a tradition that dates back to Carthagenians and romans it has nothing to do with tourists it's not because tourists are there so they started making wine it dates back to 2000 years ago 😅
Thanks for watching, and for the clarification. I don't disagree, perhaps I was unclear in the video.
@@MrCrosbydoesGeography hope you have a great time and discover more history other than trash and some third word inconveniences Tunisia is actually great for someone who is working from abroad since it's cheap and there is good places to stay at and hopefully they sort things out because they have everything they need
Nice video but am afraid wearing tshirts and bikinis is not a new thing and you shouldn't find any problem wearing whatever you want everywhere except mosques maybe
Fair enough, does it perhaps depend on the definition of 'new' ? How long has this been a common occurrence do you think?
@@MrCrosbydoesGeography Tunisian society became more liberal after the independence and around the bourguiba era so id say they became more open sarting from the 1950s
Nice video mr Crosby from newhall
Wow I didn’t realise how beautiful Iceland is, I’ll have to visit one day
