Given this bird can out race practically anything in the sky (especially when diving after prey, in a full dive with a full wingspan open, from a 3 mile + altitude, they have been clocked at around 186mph, sometimes faster), this is a very special video. Many thanks to the Hawk and Owl Trust for sharing.
Peregrine Falcon is the most beautiful of all the birds of prey. These four young birds are the bright future for this endangered species. Thanks for this nice video.
I am an American falconer and It was interesting: to see they hunted at night or at least in the early evening, that they were so successful in such a windswept and unprotected nest site, that the invading female had some sort of band or cuff on her left leg. Great job. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for this video. Many important life lessons to be learnt from this short documentary. The role of the male and female and their parenting act is such an amazing lesson humans need to learn from these birds 💟💟💟
@Stellvia Hoenheim hey douchebag, learn to see things in a positive light too. I never said humans and animals are equal. I just saw some beautiful trait in these birds which can be learnt by humans who tend to leave their kids in the streets. Don't be a d.i.c.k😂

There is a window very close to the nest. The people running this open the window, get the chicks, measure and ring them. The nest is VERY hard to get to - at the top of the cathedral spire, behind locked doors.
Excellent video, the view from their precarious nest on this amazing 1000 year old building makes me envy their ability of flight, they seem kinda haphazard in their parenting but obviously pretty successful despite appearances
I love these. I always come back as you post the seasons. So many questions. How do you tag the birds? Is there easy quick acsess to snag them when the parents are away?
To Hawk and Owl trust: Is there anybody I could ask permission to ? I'd love to copy the scene of the first fledgling coming back to play with the youngest sibling! It is just so adorable!
They go around and prey on our pigeons!! These birds are nothing but killers!!! Our pigeons are well bred it takes years to get a good blood line together to call your own.. it’s takes selective breeding and our care we spend hundreds of pounds on our pigeons each year for these birds to come and kill them in front of us and there is F**k all we can do but stand and watch😡 a pair of these horrid birds took two of my pigeons tonight!!
@@boro7059 Sorry to hear that. I have pigeons as well and I try to keep them locked up for longer than usual just to avoid the hawk attacks during nesting season. I haven't lost any birds to them yet and I hope I never do. But I understand your frustration.

To compare humans to an entirely different species is foolish. We operate differently.

Great video! The peregrine falcon is one of Nature's finest creations. We have several nests in my city of Brussels, Belgium.

At present this year's nestlings have about two weeks before they fly. The webcam is wonderful.

When and how do the fledglings get banded on their legs? I noticed they had ID marking bands before leaving the nest.

,
Fascinating and remarkable footage.
one of the chick had rings in its legs. usually home grown birds have that. how is that possible? has anyone interfered?
they might get inspection and tagged to record the population and track movements.
There’s a window right next to the nest. They carefully tag them while the parents are away
Wonderful!
감동적이네요 wonderful video
Thank you for sharing. This is a rare sight for birders.
Bella historia. 😍
Hello to you my friebd🙂
Apparently one of the females from this nest came to St Edward’s bridge in Newcastle. They just came back it seemed.

Humans: we need to drink at least 2.5 litres of water a day or else we'll die. Peregrines: water, what's water?

Curious, what exactly do the parents catch for food?
They all seem to be small birds, like doves.
StevioooSvN they’re a bit larger than doves and hunt just like eagles do- with their talons, they mostly feed on birds in large groups like pigeons

@@boro7059 I'd put the life of a beautiful falcon over the life of the rats with wings you call pigeons.
Why is there a bird fight here?
These chicks have the best father
Are these, what they call Anatum(sp) cpecies?
