Notice how countries like Lichtenstein, Monaco, Switzerland, etc which do a lot of dealings in the financial market rather then producing goods , along with a few of the oil rich countries float around the top. And in particular notice how the financially focused ones will suddenly drop off the map and another financially focused on move up. Have to wonder if that's a reflection of the super rich moving their money around as much as anything directly having to do with the specific country. Why would there suddenly be such huge shifts in money that a country, Monaco, would go all the way from the top to disappearing below the bottom?

Can you do it with gdp ppp please?
yes
Are there anywhere to find long term projections of nominal gdp per capita? And not just large nations, but for all nations?
3 years later; Yes
@@Gallowglass7 do you have a link?
1:42 THE US HAS LEFT THE CHAT
Whenever a country's GDP per capita reaches or near 200 thousand, it's gone.
What happened to New Zealand
Hi I’m from Singapore, a country 170 times smaller than New York city!
So I guess summarise North-Western Europe pretty consistent through good times and bad. But a tech, oil or mineral booms only get you so far for so long. I wish Australia was doing whatever the hell Luxenburgh was doing 😆
Great video! China's GDP per capita is around 9000 dollars in 2017. We Chinese are poor.
China is a developing country while USA,UK,France,Germany,Italy,Spain,Canada,Australia,Japan are developed countries.
We hope to be as rich as Western Powers in 2050.
With a population of 1 billion .
Y'all can never beat west in terms of per capita 😂
USA was always in top 3…until just after 1971 when dollars couldn't be converted in gold anymore.
Good observation
Don't we have the petro-dollar rn?
Notice how countries like Lichtenstein, Monaco, Switzerland, etc which do a lot of dealings in the financial market rather then producing goods , along with a few of the oil rich countries float around the top. And in particular notice how the financially focused ones will suddenly drop off the map and another financially focused on move up. Have to wonder if that's a reflection of the super rich moving their money around as much as anything directly having to do with the specific country. Why would there suddenly be such huge shifts in money that a country, Monaco, would go all the way from the top to disappearing below the bottom?
No, they just stopped reporting data to World Bank
Countries with highest GDP per capita have less population than a suburb in any big, global city. I've been to all of these places and they're very homogeneous with little foreign immigration or refugees. People think alike, laws are easy to implement and governance is a cake walk.
Try to see the context, people. These places are not the most accurate representation of the world we live in today.
true.....
USA?
Michał Michalak True quite surprised USA made it to the top 10! Perhaps it has to do with the fact that all economic figures are compared to USD. GDP by purchase power parity (PPP) might show a different result? Still, credit to USA
@@whyamihere9150 The USA's just an economic beast. There's just so many rich American businessmen with net worths bigger than the GDP of some of the countries on this list, which pushes the GDP per capita right up.
@the godness of a gansta better millitary than india, that`s great for Belgium Sweden and for you
Im korean and not the biggest fan of japan, but i have to admit that
they were trully representing whole asia in 80s-90s.
although now they are failing over and over again,
they deserve applause just for their performance in these days;)
It's not looking to good for them either sadly, a aging population and a massive debt.
yeah they have to deal with these things but their government seems too incompetent to fix these problems, such a shame
I am Indian an do am damn sure my country will come in this list after centuries...
My country Kuwait 🇰🇼 was the first, but Idk why It went down, still the strongest currency 💴
Falling oil prices.
The oil days are over! Kuwait will be a dry well, shortly! Get out now- because you will be a province of Iran, shortly!
It fall in nominal numbers when compared to the dollar, if you take the local currency's purchasing power, you'll see its still in top ten.
With 94% of the goods exported being oil so when that runs out your currency will be fucked
Because your country is so unfriendly towards your maids and other domestic helpers
It is sad to see Germany only appearing around 1996 and vanishing afterwards. The government really fked up at that time
Fked up.... Germany is literally the EU...
Germany's government is trash
1:51 Northern Europe full house ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°
You forgot there’s japan
@@hawganeer no, I mean there are all contries from Northern Europe (Finland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Denmark)
Until India and China are not in these list there's long way to go for these country's citizens.
Chinese Macau and Hong Kong could be here.
Honestly the US is doing really well for a massive population of 330 million people with an average of $66,000 as of today is insane.
True they had the highest quality of life in the 50s but I think today Americas GDP per capita is inflated due to the high amount of billionaires in the country. There are 10 people in the U.S. that are worth 1 trillion dollars
@@h.d.5194 median disposable income is also the highest in the world adjusting for those billionaires.
im happy that luxembourg is 1st richest country in GDP per capita because i was born on luxembourg

Japan and USA are remarkable because they have much higher populations , It's incredible to know that at one point Japan was more richer than the USA in terms of gdp per capita all thanks to their extreme levels of discipline
Japan and USA are not more remarkable than others. Each country can be compared to the others based it's divided upon the population. GDP per Capita says which country is more "rich", while total GDP which economy is larger.
Any reason why monaco and lux gdp/capita are not available?
Do you mean Liechtenstein and not Luxembourg
I’m telling you Luxembourg is overpowered

Love to see my country at first place
The only reason Australia, Singapore and Denmark "made" the top ten is because Monaco, Liechtenstein and San Marino weren't surveyed in 2017.
They Nordic countries are higher because of just population soo less...
Monaco, Liechtenstein and San Marino are microstate and that's the reason I'm not sure
Hey could you please do an estimated gdp per capita until 2050.
How can he predict? people cant predict tomorrow
Canada getting its ass kicked in every of these video ... Do one on the biggest maple syrup production!
