You just got a subscription with the comment about history. The best part of that public transport for 3 days is, if you go wrong (you see other places) but it also is free. You can take 2 stops and step out again.
I love how people who aren't born in the Netherlands hate salty licorice and we consume it on a daily base a lot😂. Respect for trying it and the perspective from americans on typical dutch things are so fun to see, like stroopwafels (treace waffle) and it reminds me also to respect what we take for granted. Love to see you 2 enjoy yourselfs with traveling and just exploring.

I can’t believe you guys went all the way to Amsterdam and ate at a McDonald’s seriously guys crack me up I love you guys I keep telling you that’s because they change the grease out of their fryers nightly not like here in the US where they leave it for months on end there’s a different sanitation I guess system over there. My daughter-in-law would go crazy in there. She collects his little ducks and she put them up on the dashboard of her jeep and so does my son. My oldest son sells real estate and I have no idea how he got into all these little ducks, I think a little boy that they sold the house, too, gave him a little rubber ducky so now he has all these little rubber duckies on the dashboard in his truck they would go crazy there as a matter of fact, when they went to Amsterdam last year for their 20th anniversary I think they bought a bunch of them, they’re so cute. If you guys ever get a chance to go back go in the spring during the tulip festival that’s beautiful it’s worth seeing at least once in your lifetime but take allergy medicine. It was the one time for some unknown reason I got the worst headache in my life but it was worth it. It’s absolutely beautiful I love the look on your face when you taste something nasty. It is priceless.
If you're not at all discouraged by the salty liquorice, try the honey flavoured ones (honingdrop). They're probably a better pick than the advanced liquorice eater salted ones without being overly sweet.

But now...why Don't you go for a "real" meal ...in a restaurant and stop snacking! Find a trendy restaurant and enjoy the experience of a real nice meal. Bare in mind if you go, take your time eating. Here in the Netherlands going for a restaurant meal is all a social thing. So sit back, take your time and enjoy the experience.
Next time you go to HEMA (you called it Target), take a 'broodje rookworst' (weener, on a bun). It's the BEST! Smokey sausage, succulent and very tasty. The store is famous for it
Also, a tip for yall's hair, put some lotion in your hair before sleep, then when you wake up, wash your hair as usual. Do that each night and that should help with the dried brittleness of it. I started doing that when we would go to the beach frequently growing up and it helped my hair so much.
