No man's sky basically had to restart the game after the studio was flooded and Sony still wanted them to have it out in a certain time frame. Why does everyone leave this out.
It was 10 years of coding done by an average 6 people, to rewrite that in half the time is incredible.
Always forgive, but never forget. Yes, Hello Games has done an incredible job a bettering the game, and that's comendable, NMS is now one of my favorite games to play, but that doesn't mean that the straight out lies said by the dev team at lauch two years ago were no less than insulting to the audience. Yes it was Sony's fault mainly, there's no denying that Hello games played along with those bad practices, making them as guilty as them, and they've payed the price for said practices. but as I said, always forgive. I just pray that the comunity sees this too and forgives the errors of the past. NMS has the potential to be one of the best modding comunities since Skyrim or FO, and thank god there's no indicative that Hello Games is stopping any time soon.
I dont know guy, how often do you think it was talked about? Not alot right? Because no one cared, companies set impossible deadlines all the time, what Sony did was nothing new, cruel but nothing new and not crueler than other companies like EA.

Despite what some people might say, No Man's Sky is still an amazing and beautiful game and is still worthwhile if you are willing to look past it's launch status.

No mans is amazing. I'll admit I use to talk trash about it and said I'd never buy it. But after a couple of my friends who play it convinced me I'm hooked on this game and I can't stop playing. I have 60 hours in and I haven't made a full month with this game. Definitely buy it since it's on sale right now.

Evenmoah Dakka no you don't have to but they can visit your locations tho. You have storages that only you can access to place are your valuables in there.
Some Theories on No Man's Sky's Development goes like this :
The 1.3 update's version of Multiplayer was the original games release goal. Meaning as in the Colbert Interview explained that the game was more Journey or Darksoul like than a true Avatar Based Multiplayer Game like it is now. You were not able to see your character nor able to create one, yet you would know what others looked like by seeing them (Suggesting they looked all alike maybe Glowing Floating Talking Orbs?)
When the 1.3 update hit and they attempted to make the Glowing Talking Orbs work it didn't work for everyone. Even to this day I haven't been able to see my friend from England as a Glowing Talking Orb. This suggests to me that when they tried to make the 1.3 update Multiplayer work that it failed to work for the two guys who met each other on live stream in August 2016. Rather than have the system in place but not working they removed it after the 1.0 version was patched.
The 1.0 Version of No Man's Sky sported an actual center of the Galaxy and that there were no other Galaxies you could get too by going to the center. This was done by a player named Stikzz who managed to not be connected to PSN (for Updates to the game) for over a month and actually reached a system in the center of the Galaxy and named it. Once he got a connection he became the only person to have all the centers of the galaxies with his name on it as discovered by him(on the PS4 platform). It is my Theory that Hello Games wanted people to get to the center in order to ensure a meeting in a vast galaxy of billions of systems. Once they started meeting and seeing Floating Talking Orbs they would feel the sense of loneliness of the Journey melt away and find new friends in a Huge Galaxy.
But that is just a Theory ;)

I still play this game and I still enjoy it. It keeps getting better with every update.
It's pretty funny. You convinced me to buy the game and then almost immediately spoiled the story so I'm back to having no desire to play this. Good job.
Buy it anyway, the atlas rises story is just one reason to play it. Actually it's completely optional.
And it has received two new major updates since the making of this video and will get the biggest update this summer.
if you play the game for the story alone then you must be very lonely. Hopefully you'll find some friends to play with later on!

yeah I was like WTH let the players discover this by themselves. what is wrong with the guy. It's not a 2 hour movie it's a huge game people would spend months and maybe even years on, and he spoils it in one short video without warning.

It's been 2 years since launch. There's actually a time limit on how long spoilers should be withheld. This is prime example of one of them.

One of the main foundation of Gaming is Adventure where Discovering is; without it then its gonna be boring af. Spoilers removes the essence of wonder and awe in discovering goodshits may it be in story or in gameplay.

They did hella spoiling for the ending of the newer story. For a video trying to get people to play the game, spoiling the ending of a story of a game you're trying to get someone to play or get back into it is a bad way to go about it.
I’m one of those few that loved the game from release. Always been in my top 5 favorite games. I’m a sucka for space themed stuff especially video games.

I don't know if the devs at Hello are doing more coke, less coke or found a happy medium...whatever they are doing its awesome.

I've always felt drawn to the game. I got it when it was launched and been wanting for a good update to come back to it. Today I felt like playing it.

I think they should add in planets like the gas giants I know there would not be a much of a point but it adds to the immersion
I've been wanting actual sized solar systems with many moons like Jupiter and Saturn andactual star in the middle not just pixels you only see on the planet but besides that the game is definitely better than it was.
i still hear people trash talk this game with no knowledge of how much it really has changed.

Honestly, I agree. The devs made one hell of a redemption with this. Didn't abandon it, but made it better. Massive props to Hello Games, this shows that this really is a passion project.

The most fun I've ever had in Minecraft was in a community, building and sharing resources together, or claiming territory and establishing a bit of authority and structure among the vast infinite terrain.. So a sort of light roleplay element with a server side economy really adds to the longevity of the game. Faction wars over ideologies, territory, and resources would be pretty fun too.. But if you wanted to go singleplayer solely or specifically with friends, you should be able to do that too.
One time I found a planet with only one animal and all it is was was just a floating bright light. There was only plant too, but it was just something that looked like a sea mine. It was so cool.

Yes that was their plan, not because they wanted people to say good job. But because they kept delaying and the producer was rushing them. They would have failed if they tried to finish it before releasing it.

This game is an ABSOLUTE EXPERIENCE in VR..... and that's just release..... cant wait for future patches to make it even better. I've played this for years in non VR... but after putting that headset on, it's just a completely different game......its amazing

Just bought it new for $10 for the future PSVR mode. Its been really great so far with less than 20 hours in!
The game needs clans and raids. It'd be cool to build empires like star wars and lead a fleet.
You can already kind of build a fleet and Sort off build an empire , but that would be awesome!
I remember getting this game late 2016, I played for like 5 days then I left it for like two years now I'm playing again.

We all learn a lesson of the launch of No Mans sky. At first it was a joke, but the devs put time and effort into giving what they promised. Constantly updating and improving instead of making a cash grab and abandoning their project like so many other devs and triple A companies.

I know graphically the game looks impressive now and that's great but the Artstyle is being overly diluted.
Yea that's true. Next was a good update, but the artstyle is not so good anymore. Might just be me, but it doesn't feel that good anymore.
I bought No Man’s Sky on the first day of its release. I learned quite fast the game was was trash and swore I’d never buy another Hello Games product again.
But the company really stuck with the game to deliver their original promise. Perhaps I’ll give the game another try. And just maybe I’ll forgive Hello Games... Maybe.

They deserve to forgiven, you can see how Sean Murray learned from his errors, he doesn't get to full detail in updates with the fear of what he did back in 2016, but he has shown how much he loves his dreamed project that is No Man's Sky, even though HG doesn't have many employees they still working on No Man's Sky giving huge expansions for free, they are really dedicated, and they are working hard to make NMS what they promised.
Imma buy No Man Sky soon.

Maybe it was on purpose. What Hello games replicated was an alpha fundraiser disguised as a complete game.
People are willing to shell out 3-6x as much $ for what they think is a complete game.
Although a lie, knowing the hype that this would create they basically were certain that they were able to financially support a small team to amp up the game for a long time, a strategy that would be impossible for larger companies.
One more bonus over releasing as an alpha, they had no development plans binding them to early bird purchasers, rather they could listen to players after they played a game that they felt was lacking. How can you know what is lacking to a game if you don't play it in a shitty state?

i really hope Hello Games stick to this game too. With games like Warframe and Elite Dangerous - they could easily expand this game further beyond their original concept goals. You could end up with an MMO-style sci-fi explorer and action.

I actually liked the quite meditative solitude of the space-farming sim that was NMS when it launched. To be fare though, i was not part of the followers from the beginning of its development. I was not antisipating it like many. So my view of the game was not enhanced with any form of what the game was SUPPOSED to be. I judged it as it was. Like playing a stripped down "minecraft in space."
Im glad to see that Hello Games have stuck it out with the game and made it more of what it was supposed to be.
I wish Bioware did the same thing with Mass Effect: Andromeda. (Shakes head, sheds tear.) I know the pain of the fans that were anticipating NMS.

An mmo might be good for it, but then it eliminates the unique individual experience and the idea of procedurally generated planets unless they have several servers with different sets of procedurally generated planets.

I just started playing again after giving it 20 hours of time when it originally launched. It’s a completely different game than I remember, which much more to do
I am just very happy that they made the game better overtime despite the lack of quality on launch. Unfortunately I lost the game after selling my console. Perhaps one day I will pick this game up on pc to re-experience it in its much better state.

The fact that HG kept working on and improving NMS is the reason I bought it off Steam a couple of months ago. The fact that Steam was also offering it on sale for 50% off at the time MIGHT also have something to do with that, lol.

All updates to NMS are free so I guess your game will just update.
Kodus to them. Beyond the unimaginable difficulties of making such a complicated game with such a small team, they had to push through some nasty feedback. I'm really happy this whole project worked out in the end
Why the spoilers?
Big props to the developers. Developing new free content that improves the game at every patch for years after the game's release. Triple A titles never get that kind of dedication.
Yes everything is better in this game now but the lush planets looked cooler before the next update. Now nearly every lush planet is yellow, blue or orange and look the same when you land and Ive been to over 1000 planets in Euclid and Eissentam and yes there and earth like green ones too but i liked it before when the lush planets were so crazy looking it was fun to explore them now its boring going to new planets i hope they go back to how it was :(
