      Nyonya Cooking (Malaysian Recipes) I made it finally (not very "soon" to my last comment)! It was very delicious. The sweet, sour, and spicy flavors made the dish very appetizing. Thank you for the recipe!

    A couple years ago, 2012 to be exact, I spent some time in Singapore. During my time there I absolutely came to love (almost) all of their foods, sorry durian (ick!). I recently found your channel and buzzed through all of your videos over the last few days. I have been pleasantly surprised to see how many dishes both Singapore and Malaysia share (with good reason, I'm looking at you Queen Elizabeth!). Of all the dishes I tried in Singapore, the two I fell most in love with were carrot cake (you know the one I'm talking about, savory, not sweet) and bak kut teh. Does Malaysian have these too? I would wager they do. Would you ever consider attempting to show us how to make one of these dishes? If not, I understand. Thank you for taking the time to show us how to cook the food of your homeland. Cheers!

    • @theAISent
      @theAISent 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, they both available in Malaysia. :)

    • @FlamerzZz
      @FlamerzZz 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Bak kut teh in Singapore is very different from Malaysia. Singapore version is like just white pepper and garlic while Malaysian one has almost 10 types of herbs and some put tea into it. If you like the taste of chinese herb You must go to Klang to have them there's like quite a lot of bak kut teh shops there.

    • @thePowerPlant
      @thePowerPlant 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      FlamerzZz While I was in Singapore I tried both kinds. One version was like you said, very reserved and simple, while the other version was a very dark brown color. The darker one had many herbs and spices and tasted a little like medicine to me. Because I am not from the area, and my taste buds are geared more towards Western food, I preferred the lighter version, but that is not to say I did not a few bowls of the dark version that I enjoyed quite a lot.

    • @nyonyacooking
      @nyonyacooking  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thePowerPlant Heyya, thanks for the comment here. As @theAlsent mentioned, Chai Tow Kway (carrot cake) and Bak Kut Teh are available in Malaysia. Would try to make videos of both the recipes :) Thank you for supporting the videos, motivates me to make more videos in future!!
