  • We know you guys LOVE fat trikes and electric options, so today we present with BOTH. This recumbent trike from ICE is outfitted with the Shimano STEPS 8000 pedal assist system and it is INCREDIBLE. It's always an honor to have builds like this come through our shop and we love electric trikes! It cruises down the flat and climbs hills like nobody's business. If you all could take this for a spin, you'd love it just as much as we do!

    Riding the Full Fat Trike is great, I am an owner of a FFT, so I can tell. Besides going off road, the FFT works very well in urban areas. At 3:06 you can see the FFT climbs on the curb without issues. I rode a 800 km/ 500 mile vacation trip through rolling hills in summer 2019. I also tow a trailer behind it (Burly Nomad). So VERSITILE is the key word of the FFT. The speed is only a fraction lower then riding a normal tire trike, but I am not a fast rider with 44 lbs/ 20 kg overweigh.

    • @RosaHernandez-ql8nu
      @RosaHernandez-ql8nu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey what kinda range did you get with it? I'm very curious about what to expect

    • @mardiffv.8775
      @mardiffv.8775 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RosaHernandez-ql8nu The range is around 40 km/ 25 miles. Sure, I can get more miles/ km out of a battery by dropping under 60 %, but that reduces the battery life span. My tires are inflated at 1,3 bar/ 19 psi.
      And in the winter the range is reduced by the cold, of course. The colde reduces the battery capacity. So around 16 km/ 10 miles.

    I own an ICE Full Fat Trike for 3 years. When you fold the FFT, release air from the rear or left tire. Then the rear wheel will fit between the front wheels.

    Hello Really enjoyed the video and as it now has 161,000 views I am far from alone !!
    Please add information and maybe another video on how I / We , may finance one through your shop if that is possible ?
    I thought about driving out to your shop but Louisiana to Utah is a bit more of a haul than I can do right now.
    I posted this comment publicly rather than privately because I thought others might also be interested in financing one through you.
    Thanks

    Fat Tires have high rolling resistance. Rolling downhill is the best thing that they do. "Wish it had motors" at 10:54 is a good clue. Switching out tires for the Alta Bicycle Fat Tire Duro 26" x 3.00" Slick Tread Bike Tires for Beach Cruisers would be a good idea. They inflate to 36 psi and roll much easier. You can mount 3 inch tires on 4 inch rims. It will change the ride experience.

  • @Wilson84KS

    Very sympathic natural guys, like that 👍 What I don't understand about this concept is why make it big but completely useless except of transporting one person, why the pedals need to stick out so far, make the whole construction long and wide without using the size properly? Moving the frontwheels out would give space for a front trunk, making the backwheel smaller would give space for a back trunk or both space for a second seat, also it doesn't need to be that wide and the short distance between the axles makes it jumpy and instable. But basically I like it, just googled some infos about tires and things because I'm planning a trike but other way around to have a trunk in the back, that's why I got this recommended, you guys showed lot's of details that I can learn from, just for curiosity it would have been nice if you told which switchgear is used on this.

I have no idea if I'm going to kick myself for buying the Ecomotion CORE pro e-fat when I could have this. Someone tell me , what should I do?. I never road a trike by the way, but this thing is CRAZY cool!!!!!.
    UPDATE: It is now 4 days after picking up our EG and EcoMotion E-bikes. They are beautiful. However, since no-one bothered to intervene and stop me we got the bikes and not the trikes. You can go into 3 X 3 drive, by hand moving the front wheels. With front mud guards, you can not touch the front tires. The rear mud guard is not so effective, aka water spray and mud in my hair and neck. So I attached an extender with tieraps, cost only 3 Euros. The Full Fat with the ESTEPS system is about $8000. You can carry a second battery with you but it won't be tied in electronically as Shimano doesn't has provisions for that. Attaching a battery mount on the other side will affect folding if that matters. Sorry about that we did have some equipment issues on this video that affected the focus.

    Allegedly, some endorphin junkies have been getting this very fat tire tadpole and a BBSHD and put a plug and go Grin controller and turning the BBSHD into a 72 volt, 60 amp nominal, 90 amp peak (3 longest seconds of your life) 3 wheeled dune buggy. Myself... I'll wait round for some after market wheelie bars and roll cage before I attempt that adrenalin poppin stunt... allegedly!

    not a fan of the elastomer rear suspension, aside from that its great. I just wish they offered a better rear suspension option .

      Once nice feature about ICE is that they use a modular frame. The rear end could be replaced with another one. There isn't another option yet, but...

      I’ve some 6000 miles on my Sprint X. The elastomer RS is perfect for road work. Light weight, smooth, durable. Maybe your bias is based on trail use. Can’t comment.

    Just found your channel. Do you guys ever mess with electric unicycles? You guys have too many wheels. I get to sit down too, and they go up to about 40. 22” tyre i think, 3” wide. Less suspension (as in none) tho. (Gotway monster) I get about 100 miles of range.

      @UtahTrikesOnline  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do like odd numbers of wheels, but have not messed with unicycles.

      @@UtahTrikesOnline I highly suggest, from a practicality stand point trying one out. If you ever do demo's in NYC, reach out to NYCEB a collective of EV enthusiasts out there that i'm a part of. Awesome stuff guys, got me jelly
