I made this for Thanksgiving, 2023! Everyone said it was the best apple pie they'd ever tasted! The only thing I changed was that I added the cinnamon directly to the sauce and whisked it to evenly distribute the cinnamon rather than sprinkling the apples with it. The pie held together perfectly! Thanks, Natasha!

    WARNING/ ADVISORY:
I made this pie this thanksgiving, it was absolutely delish! But you should make the sauce/ syrup AFTER you are done slicing the apples, or it will separate, without being able to be brought back together. Amazing recipe, although! Ill be making this for tomorrow as well! Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

Yes mine did this too, i removed all the liquid with a tissue and reheated the caramel and added milk about 3/4th cup, which looked about how much liquid had come out. Tasted divine and didn't affect the texture, but while baking it did get bubbly and sticky on some parts of the crust

that's true, 2nd time making this pie and it happened both times.....i don't think I'm that slow cutting up the apples lol. it did not affect the taste thankfully but I will prepare the apples first next time and keep them from browning with lemon juice.

Hello Natasha, thank you so much for this recipe. I picked a whole bunch of apples from our tree and have a family member visiting from America, I knew I had to make the classic American dessert for her! First time baking and I was very happy with the outcome, it looked and tasted amazing! I messed up the sauce initially because I took too long peeling and slicing the apples, it crystallised on me...but I managed to fix it and still turned out great. I made a second one a couple of days later and changed the order, peeled the apples and placed them in bowl of water, removed the core and sliced them while adding some lemon juice to counteract the browning. Then I did the sauce and I nailed it this time and the family loved it! I didn't know they were not a dessert person but she said it was amazing and of course I credited you for your wonderful recipe ☺

I made this today and it was really really good. I have never baked a pie at this perfection. The dough was crispy and the filling was amazing. I added 1 lemon juice to my apples to prevent darkening and it was the only change I made. The one thing that is sad is we can’t leave our home and it’s just me, my dad and our cat. So just 2 people ate this pie and I felt heartbroken. Some things are better when you share it with the people you love. So I’m going to make this pie again, whenever this pandemic would end, that is going to be my totem. 🤞🏻💕

And for those who don’t have (or can’t make) the pie crust, I tried another recipe and it turned out good as well, cuz the important thing is the filling.
Mix 2 eggs with 100 gr sugar, add 200-250 gr melted butter and mix again. Then add baking powder (or soda), vanilla and flour and stir with a big spoon. Add flour gradually until it is a normal dough. Then cut it into 2 pieces, one is slightly bigger than the other. Put the smaller half into the freezer to get firm, cuz you will grate it. Put just a little oil or soft butter into the pan so it won’t stick, spread the bigger half with your hands, add the filling, then grate the smaller half, but be sure to press with your hands on the grated area, or it will get burned.

I had always pre-baked Granny Smith apples before doing a pie but found that I had issue with soggy apples. I tried this recipe, did not pre-bake the apples, and the sucker actually worked. I will no longer pre-bake my apples. Thank you so much Natasha ❤️. I made the pie today.

I made it today for the first time and my parents and brother liked it. :) I did lessen the sugar for the sauce (i used brown sugar) and the cinammon for my personal preference. I think i only used 3 apples (more or less, i peeled and sliced 6 apples but only half of it could fit in the pan i used, i still put all the sauce tho) I thought it won't turn out well because of some of the instructions that i wasn't able to do exactly as how it is in the video, (One example is the dough was over pulsed, it got sticky and hard to get off the food processor) but the good thing is it did turn out fine and tasted good! :) I will definitely make it again and will follow the instructions properly. Thank you for the sharing the recipe. It worked and we enjoyed it! :)

Update: I made two of these pies yesterday!!
    I made a few changes:
    1. I added cranberries
    2. I used Brown sugar instead of granulated.
    3. I used Phillo dough for the top of the pie - should've used regular dough instead.
Overall I loved it, I especially liked the filling!
It was easier than I thought. Awesome recipe!!

This recipe was delicious and amazing! I’ve been trying to make apple pies for years and they always ended up being watery with hard apples😔. No more, with this recipient, I’ve nailed it!! Thank you, Natasha!!
