Good topic. This is a good topic for people who wish to try film photography for the first time who are currently using digital cameras. I've been shooting since 1972 and my first SLR was the Pentax Spotmatic F. It is a wonderful camera. It is simple to use. The lenses for it are fantastic, can't go wrong. I would think the K-Mount is much better than the screw mount. Keep that in mind. I started out with the 50, 35 and 135. And really, that was all I needed. I shot mostly Tri-X, and did the developing of the film and eventually making prints. This is a good background for all those who think they know everything about photography. Once they get into film, they will realize they don't know much. This will give this a good grasp of photography and how it all started.

Thanks. The spotmatic F is a great camera, plenty of great lenses for m42.
I think the most difficult part for the new generations is to think analog and not digital. The same when you learn a new language, the most difficult step is always to start. to think in the new language. Analog life is a new language for a lot of young people.

That was a great lecture, Professor Barbano, thanks a lot!😉
I'm approaching my 50's and I've just learned developing B&W films recently. I couldn't agree more with you: learn the basic stuff first. Now, after something like 20 rolls of FOMAPAN 200 I feel calm and confident with the standard process (Fomadon R09 / Fomafix). I think, 30 rolls more this way and then I might try something else, better film maybe, ILFORD perhaps...

Thank you! I will need to wear my professor style spectacles in the next video :)
Fomapan is a good film. You will know when to try something different. As any learning in life you will feel comfortable and the desire to get out of the comfort zone. It's why I love learning processes :)

Nice tutorial. Digital detox part especially. But yeah, be patient and accept that this is an analog process so there will be no AI correcting stuff for you, everyhing will come out as you set it.

Thank you. Be patient is not easy fort the digital generation, but it's so rewarding!
