Man, not going to lie I really missed you buddy, because you make the music alive not only in the hearts but in the bottom of the souls, it’s just incredible what you are doing with the guitar of yours, happy to be here once again. :))
Great video! Hey Dave I just got a Boss DS-2 this week because I always wanted to compare it to the Digitech/DOD Grunge pedal. I think the pedals are pretty close, like DOD/Digitech copied the Boss DS-2, and changed it a little. I like the Boss DS-2 a little better, both of them are very fussy pedals, and you have to do your part to get the settings to work how you want the sound to come out. I found that running the Tone City Golden Plexi V.1 in front of either pedal gave me the best results.
Dave, l like your artistic - exclusive talking points defining YOU and God formed us all uniquely different , that's are GOD and Dave in good - you make me laugh , Dave ; God Does LOVE'S YOU SO MUCH : Please read the whole gospel of John in the new testament of the Holy Bible and discover true - LOVE , God is LOVE .... 💜 GOD IS LOVE ❤
Love it i got a late 80s bass 20 combo 5502 single g10L35. I love that line of speakers. I have 4 late 90s g12L35s from a red bear cab in a 78 marsh b cab. Sounds great w my 01 dsl100. My bass 20 is not in that good of condition cosmetically someone replaced the grill cloth and did a bad job. Lol. But I am not gigging with it I just use a for recording here and there. I too am an amp hoarder lol
I had a particularly rare 1980's Marshall Lead 15 mini stack in near mint condition about 7 years ago. Fantastic recording amp, and the head sounded massive thru a 4x12. It's front facing line out also sounded incredible direct to interface into Cab IRs! It had two separate parallel gain knobs (ala jumped Plexi) and a rather versatile mid contour knob. Got it stupid cheap from an estate sale. Just $125!!! ISYN!!! I reeeeaaaally regret selling that one, but that was back when I was still battling addiction unfortunately. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ No point in beating myself up about it, as I've been blessedly chemical demon free for nearly 6 yrs now, but it does sting just a bit. Anyway... This era of Marshall solid state amps were just incredible IMO. My buddy has a 25 watt Silver Jubilee solid state mini head, and will not come off it for any price! That amp is an absolute gem to behold.
I love the way the 80s Marshall bass amps looked, all blacked out. Kind of like the secret agent's Marshall for stealth riff and diddlydum expeditions into enemy territory.
Dave is the worst endorser of amps on YT. One minute he's. "The boss katana, the only amp you need". Couple of years later, "the boss kanana mk 2, the only amp you'll need" then last month, "the boss katana gen 3, the only amp you'll need" now I have 3 Boss Katanas and I need that Marshall??
There are a lot of great amps out there, we are so spoiled and most of us cannot evaluate equipment correctly. You should be able to get a half-decent tone out of almost anything if you play with it long enough, and buying equipment doesn't replace the need for skills. You cannot buy skills.
Man you should write movie scores! Absolutely loved the intro jam.
I think Dave should movie scores as well
Sometimes he makes me think of a blend of Hendrix, Cooder and Gilmour.
A very nice "melange" to my ears 🤠
Great performance man, lovely soulful playing..thanks
Beautifull ❤
Love your feeling Dave
Thank you.👏🏻
Loved it! Never knew you played the bass Dave. Actually really enjoyed your playing mate.
I’ve already started drifting……. ❤️
Beautiful, Davey.......😊

Mmm motorbikes and guitars
Man, you're playing always grabs ahold of me and tells me, STAY CALM... and be creative.
Dave your playing always puts a smile on my face. Glad to see your smiling too.

Please Dave stop, I got no budget for amps 😂

Your playing and use of pedals really trips me out Dave

Masterful , David ! You ,Tom Buk and Jedd Hughes...LOVE YA
It sure has a gnarly sound Dave. Glad your in better spirits
Never stop demoing the obscure amps. Sheading light on good amps and giving us interesting jams.
Superb, thoughtful and full of emotion, yep sounds like all of dave's solos.
That combo is CLEARLY haunted! Lol!

Tone is in the hands not the amp. But I get your point 👍

what's in it, Dave? A Celestion G12 65W or summert? Cheers and atb. ; - )
To be honest i’ve no clue. It is a celestion though.
@@thedavesimpson thanks man - i appreciate the reply - great playing at the start there, just gorgeous
Great Gilmourish tones!
I was thinking the same, but his alter egos (Hendrix, Frusciante) are pretty good as well 🤠
