Hi Dale. Nice job on the coop. They should be very comfortable this winter. The quail who has doubled his life expectancy must be a very healthy, strong little guy who loves where he lives. I think that's great. Hope he lives for several more years. Thank you for sharing!
Good morning Dale. Strange you lost the ones you hatched. So it's starting to get cold up there already. Good idea to use the OSB on the shed to cut down on the maintenance. Best wishes Bob.
Hello Dale, Here is central Ohio next weeks overnight lows are predicted to be in the lower 40's equal to your 6/7 C. Cabin videos are not far off!! Always happy to see all the birds especially little Martha - she has always been my fave. I was wondering where Angel was!! Glad to see you are well. Take care. ~kendra
Awwww, I love the chicken vids. Why are they so mesmerizing? I could sit and watch them for hours. I know they are aware of how lucky they are to be cared for by a kind gentlemen. And a sweet pup. All of us would like that! Lol! I am always stunned at the beauty and variety there are of chickens. How do they balance on the twig? Lol! Clever birds! Hope all in Canada are keeping safe and are well. Take care everyone. Love from the USA. ♥️🌞🙏🕊🙋♀️
Love listening to your happy flock, Dale. Sounds nice and breezy there.Today was the first day in over a week that I could see a small patch of high clouds through the thick blanket of smoke we have been dealing with. It was short lived. Real smoky again this afternoon. There was a good rain on the coast last night but we got very little. They say now that maybe in a couple days we will see improvement. Fingers crossed.
The fires and the smoke are horrible. I'm amazed that it has reached this far . We can't smell it but it is here high up making the sun light very strange.
Love all the chicken noises and breezes through the trees-lucky that you can let them out to forage. We have many acres here and still there are regulations which don't allow us to let our hens roam the yard. The guineas will be great at tick/pest patrol. thanks for the great video!
Strange you lost the ones you hatched glad you managed to get some more. My quail mostly live more than two years. Nice to see the chickens having fun.
7degrees? Wow lol I can't imagine that kinda cold! Love your chicken coop the quail is adorable and love the chicken.Well you and Angel keep warm God Bless.
Good idea on the removable panels mate. I'm interested to know why you got Guineas mate. Over here, we sometimes get them because they are a foolproof snake slayer. Very cute chookins.
I had them years ago Andy and just wanted to have them again. Here we have a big problem with deer ticks which spread Lyme disease and they are know to eat them but I suspect that free range chickens do the same.
You did such a nice job closing the coop in Dale. It’s been going down to 40 F here too. It got cold very fast. Love seeing your birds and your setup for them.
I love those videos about your chickens! By the way, you never told me if the voles were scared off by the hefty smell of the Ammonium bicarbonate, if not I just will have to send you a prescription for baking with it... lol.
Let's just say I still have lots of them but they haven't been too much of a problem this year. I saw a very large black one dead in the path to my garden the other day no idea what killed it.
That's a nice chicken coop Dale. They say guinea hens make great burglar alarms! And they'll chase the snake down to keep it away from the other animals that they hang out with. I like your channel keep up the great work. 💝😇😎
I hope your guinea fowl settle in soon - they're a bit camera shy, unlike the chickens. I love the shot where the chickens are coming out of the coop, one by one in an endless stream - how many are there? That black cockerel looks spoiling for a fight! The bully!
They are talking frost down here this week . A bit early . but has happened in the past . I would imagine that the water helps you . Know my cousin who lives lives near the ocean and her zone is higher than a few miles inland
Yes the relative warm water of the bay keep the frost away from us for a while. They have had several frosts already north of us in the north western corner of the province.
Hi, I’m new to your channel, do you free range your guinea fowl and quail? Also, have you ever tried sprouting grain for them. Don’t the guinea fowl eat a lot of insects? Sorry, a lot of questions 😉
You can't free range quail they don't have the instinct to return. The guinea fowl are young and haven't free ranged them yet but I plan too next summer they do eat a lot of bugs ticks in particular.
I've been doing some research and someone said that wood shavings will fill their gizzards and they will die. Maybe just when they are young tho i'm not sure.

Thank you Amy. The little quail was alone for a few weeks I think he is enjoying the company.
@@DaleCalderCampobello I bet he is. Maybe having the others in there with him will keep him "young".
I can't believe I've been subscribed for 5 years now
Thank you time flies.
I think Angel enjoys watching the chickens😊
She does and they are so used to her they just ignore her.
Watching your chickens is so restful. Puts life into perspective. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Dale's content has a way of doing this, always very pleasant...
Love that black chicken she’s gorgeous😊
Barnyard bantam (Mixed breed) burt they are sweet and have great personality.
Good morning Dale. Strange you lost the ones you hatched. So it's starting to get cold up there already. Good idea to use the OSB on the shed to cut down on the maintenance. Best wishes Bob.
Thanks 👍 Once the last week of August arrives here you can feel the difference in the air.

Thank you Kendra it was 10 degrees here this morning. Martha is nine years old the only one left from the original flock.

🤗 Odd little creatures!
Yes they are.
I'm sad the chicks didn't make it. Loved the video!
Thank you .

LOL He really is quite gentle . I think there are17 bantams and three large birds.
Cute..... 👍😀
Thank you! 😃
Love your birds I’ll start watching your channel. I just started have a mix of young birds too . What kind are the black ones and the fluffy ones?
Thank you . The fluffy ones are silkies the only black and white one I can think of is a silver sea bright.
Nice video
Thanks
dark ones are likely just normal gray pearl and the light ones are likely lavenders

Hi Dale. Are you getting a lot of eggs each day? We buy farm eggs from our neighbors, Chickens are entertaining. 🤓
I get a lot more than I can use.
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you .
Do you plan on letting your Guinea fowl free range like your chickens? Will they return to their coop like your chickens do?
I don't plan to let them free range until Spring I think by them they will return home at night .
I've been doing some research and someone said that wood shavings will fill their gizzards and they will die. Maybe just when they are young tho i'm not sure.
Not true I have used them for years with all ages of birds without any issues.
Hi Uncle Dale
Hello there.
