The benefit of 5.56 is that it's lighter so you can carry more of it, which is what you need when you want to use suppressive fire to keep the enemy in place while you're calling for ordinance over the radio. If you lose the suppressive capability you will lose soldiers.
@@pineapple999100 the Army’s premise that our enemies are wearing body armor en masse is flawed. Russia is proving that right now and China is spending money on missiles not soldiers.
Nice. But PWS may have to consider the competition that's about to release 6mm ARC platforms that have larger bolt lugs and features lowers with larger magwells to run the new Magpul "ICAR" 6mm ARC mags. Game changer for reliability.
That’s stupid that magpul didn’t make it stanag capable, I run geissele and they are $$$ but 100% period. I have the mk118 6arc pws and it’s a .750 group with 75 grain vmax 2950 fps.

When are you going to bring a left hand ejection upper to market? As nice as your rifle is, I stopped buying uppers that dump gas into my face a long time ago.
I bought a PWS .308 in 2015 and the accuracy was terrible, 3 to 4 moa depending on the ammo. Sold it and went to Knights Armament and solved that crap. I’ll have to hear some real world reviews on accuracy and reliability before I invest in the PWS rifle again. The 6 ARC caliber is 100% though, from what I have heard. KAC is developing their version (KS6), and they’ll probably have my money then. Maybe PWS has upped their game to compete with KAC, FN SCAR, HK, etc. but it hasn’t been shown yet. I take my weapon choices verrrrry seriously. Lots of marketing hype lately in cheap firearms, then when people buy them they say, well for the money it’s pretty good. As the marketing guy, here’s my take: For most US citizens, the 5.56 will likely remain the go-to choice for an all-purpose rifle-it’s affordable, easy to find, and there’s a huge supply of parts and accessories. That said, if you’re building an SPR or long-range AR and want better ballistics than what an 18-inch 5.56 can offer, the 6 ARC is a game-changer. I’ve been a fan of MK12s for years, but after shooting 6 ARC, I can honestly say it’s the most fun I’ve had shooting long-range with an AR in a while.
@@PrimaryWeaponsSystems interesting. But let’s say the availability doesn’t matter, it’s just the two rounds, which would be better for general purpose in your opinion?
@ If price was not an option for ammo as well, I would say the 6mm ARC would be a better all purpose round. Reaches further than 5.56 and still has plenty of power for up close engagements.

Now to have Federal, Winchester, hell even PSA start producing ammo. Need more factory offerings pls and thank you.
Agreed. As the round gets adopted by more companies and it becomes more prevalent, I have a feeling we will see more factory ammo offerings.

Great timing after the 9 Holes review. This should be the caliber that replaces 5.56 in the US military instead of that atrocity Sig created.
6 arc with that new federal steel alloy… 3100 fps out of. 13.5
