Great content. One correction: Nathan Leopold was 19 and Richard Loeb was 18 at the time of the murders. Loeb was in jail awaiting trial on his 19th birthday (June 11, 1924). He was the youngest graduate of the University of Michigan, as well.
Interesting video, I have a Rockford Watch Co. pocket watch that belonged to my grandfather, I was looking for information about the company when I found your video. Mine has a rather ornate looking faceplate compared to every other one I’ve seen. It is non functioning now. Anyways thanks for the history lesson, I enjoyed learning about it! 👍🏻
@bob7230 Thanks for watching! If you would like your Rockford repaired visit www.timesticking.com/watch-repair to get started, if interested. Take care, Times Ticking Team
I just started a layaway for a watch made by the rockford company, so it's nice to learn more about the company.
I love seeing videos about local history as im from rockford this is just cool to see
I thought I was the only person in the world that knew or cared about the Rockford Watch/Bobby Franks connection. Guess there are a few more. Good.
Dude, I love your channel.

Greatly fascinating piece!
Thank you for your fabulous, well-produced & informative content.
@Marcelo Dietrich Thanks for your support!
Always enjoy your history vids. Had zero knowledge on Rockford so thanks for putting them on my radar
@Illuminating Watches Our pleasure! :)
Born there but never heard of the Rockford Watvh company. Mostly it was furniture and machine tools. Even those were fading by the 1950s.
@xkguy Visited the building a few years ago, it's beautiful (and old)
The factory should be opened again with full production...
I don't think anyone wants to risk taking on the bad luck Jacob Franks received when he took on that same responsibility. 😳
@@TimesTicking They will have to take the big risk... Some more things need to be made in North America...
The original building is now in the middle of restoration and conversion into high-end apartments.
@jeffaulik3980 Didn't know that! Thank you.
the end of the jacob era
That was interesting but not enough information to began building a watch company.
I own a 1889 rockford 11 jewel gold watch
@donthespotter6550 Love it!! Congratulations.
