During winter my family has adopted the Swedish tradition of using a sauna or well at our house we have a steam shower so a wet sauna, it’s a wonderful way in the evenings or mornings for us to warm up.
Oh, I would love to have a table like that at home! I'll have to make do with my electric heating blanket instead. It works great on those cold and muggy days. Warm greetings from Falkenberg in Sweden
Love seeing the twins growing older and playing a board game with you. We love our Friday pizza and games nights with our adult children. I also liked the ‘head, shoulders, knees….. bottle!’ game. Keeping that one for when the family is bigger or with friends.
Ps… I liked using our Kotatsu when we lived in Japan many many years ago. My eldest was almost born there but our time was near finishing. He is now 30, married and about to embark on more travels of his own. Time flies!
Kotatsu season has started woohoo. We love playing board games, my husband is currently building a gaming table so we have more space to play them. Chicken Pot Pie and Kotatsu?? The cozy season has arrived! Oh my goodness I have never seen the head shoulder knees game but it looks so much fun. Happy Birthday Nate!
Wonderful family!! I would like to have that kind of table..It works during winter season.. Thanks for sharing your life in Japan.. Abundant blessings to you
Happy birthday! 🎉 I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the amazing videos you've made over the past few years. They've brought me so much joy, especially during a tough year. Your content has been a real escape, and I appreciate all the hard work you put into it. Wishing you a wonderful day and many more years of success! 😊
Thanks for sharing your family with us. I was super stoked about Echos of Wisdom as well. My kiddos have enjoyed it also. My middle child wanted to dress as Link for our fall festival so I dressed as Zelda with him and put a little Tri face on my baby’s yellow dress. It was a fabulous time😊
I came to your channel from luncul英会話. Thank you so much for enjoying Japan life. I really love your channel. I hope you have much more good Experiences in japan. Kotatsu has magical temptation. Most Japanese and cats sleep in kotatsu. Be careful!!!
Something that surprised me at a laundromat recently. Nowadays, laundromats have calculator-like keyboards that let you enter your mobile number, lock the door, and send you an email when your laundry is ready, meaning you don't have to wait in line at the laundromat.
Happy birthday Nate 🎉🎂!!! That must have really hurt. Having your sights set on a pumpkin spice latte ☕️, only to be crushed to find out you have to wait until next year 😢
押し入れに入れっぱなしだと、湿気に弱く雑菌やダニなどが繁殖しやすいので、夏場に何回か日光に当てれば気持ちいいですよ^^ Japanese futons can be hung out to dry on a warm, sunny day. If you leave them in the closet, they will become susceptible to humidity and bacteria and mites will easily grow, so it's best to expose them to sunlight a few times in the summer to keep them nice and fresh^^
I came home with so many Japanese coins last week. I tended to use 1000 yen bills and always received coins. I forgot to use them in the airport. Mount Fuji had no snow. I was very surprised. I miss the sandwiches and onigiri from 7/11 and Lawsons. 😅
I would get 2 kotatsu tables both one for my button organizing which I wish was a job but not and the other for my diamond art. A tall kotatsu table or a desk and yes the heater will be on in winter. Winter in Manhattan MT is cold. USA need kotatsu please let that be a thing. Ps happy birthday Nate. I would love to visit you and your kids and visit japan?!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NATE! We need a new heater for our kotatsu. It worked for one day and quit! But that was kind of expected because it's 30 years old, after all! 😅 Fortunately, the heaters are affordable on Amazon. We just have to wait till next month's budget because we got floor chairs this month. We crawled under it with our electric blankets! Lol
Happy belated birthday! I remember getting excited using the launder mat with my missionary friends in Japan. of all things 😆it's the little rare things tourists don't usually use, and appreciating the small things. the highlight for this video is you showing PRAISE Elavation sung in Japanese, It gives chills down my spine with the words and being played passionately. The vocalist has a lovely voice too~! any possibility it will be on TH-cam? Would love to listen to the full version. Many thanks and God bless!
I missed the live. So sad. I realized I will probably not make a live until spring as we had a time change in the US and I guess Japan does not have a time change. Now it goes live at 5 instead of 6. Before I get up for work.
Happy birthday 🥳 mine just past too. I wish more than anything that I could move with my kids to Japan. I love the way your family lives. I'm a single mom with 3 kid's (twin girls too). Mine are all older though and I'm not sure how well they would adapt, and I could never afford to
Well some version of the band plays every week at Paz Church, but we'll be recording and producing songs (planning on it early next year) so stay tuned!
The lack of adequate Winter heating in Japan would be a no-go for me. Korea has better heating preparation. Or I would consider a portable propane heater.

Happy Birthday and all the best to Nate! The cozy time of the year has arrived, and I guess nothing in Japan symbolises that more than the Kotatsu 😁
Happy Birthday🎉🎉🎉
Happy

It would be PERFECT for Sweden!

Wow- Becca and Anna are halfway there now!
「She sells seashells by the seashore」

I’m very happy to have my Japanese kotatsu here in Texas😌
Happy birthday to papa san🎉Hope you have another wonderful year😊
Thank you!
I was literally just googling how to get/make a Kotatsu in the states.
15:42 "If there's an uphill, there's always a downhill". No truer words of wisdom from Anna.
I came to your channel from luncul英会話. Thank you so much for enjoying Japan life. I really love your channel. I hope you have much more good

Kotatsu has magical temptation. Most Japanese and cats sleep in kotatsu. Be careful!!!
It's wonderful during the cold months!

Wow- next level!
Can’t wait for more cozy moments this winter!
Fall in Japan looks so cozy. I was excited about the new Zelda game as well. Haven't played it yet, but it looks really fun!
It's a fun play :)
It seems like just yesterday that you got that kotatsu. ❤
And already it's a big part of the family!
Happy birthday Nate 🎉🎂!!! That must have really hurt. Having your sights set on a pumpkin spice latte ☕️, only to be crushed to find out you have to wait until next year 😢
It was like the anti-birthday moment for sure! Ha!

Save them for your next trip! :)

If you're ever over here, you certainly should visit us at Paz Church :)
@ ok maybe next year when I’m in a little bit in shape and on a cruise with a couple of my friends. Japan is one of my travel bucket lists?!
Happy birthday! God bless 🎉

Make room in the budget fast! Ha ha!
@@LIJ you know it!!

Thanks so much! That was just a recording test we did, and we're planning on releasing a lot more songs in the months to come!
Happy birthday 🎂 😊
Happy Birthday, Nate!😊
Wishing you a happy birthday Nate! We are going to come to Paz when we visit next year 😊 Can we get to you from Ueno by train?
Yes you can!
I missed the live. So sad. I realized I will probably not make a live until spring as we had a time change in the US and I guess Japan does not have a time change. Now it goes live at 5 instead of 6. Before I get up for work.
One hour makes a big difference, doesn't it? I wish they did daylight savings time here, but at least there's no time change to adjust to.
Happy birthday Nate 🎉 🎁 🎂
Thanks!
Happy Birthday papa chan 🎉
Happy birthday 🥳 mine just past too. I wish more than anything that I could move with my kids to Japan. I love the way your family lives. I'm a single mom with 3 kid's (twin girls too). Mine are all older though and I'm not sure how well they would adapt, and I could never afford to
Hopefully you all can at least visit sometime.
excellent \(^o^)/
Happy Birthday Nate!
Thanks :)
Auguri di buon compleanno 🎊🎉 🎉🎉❤
Belated happy birthday to you Nate
Thank you!
Happy birthday! 🎂🎉🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you so much 😀
It's a really great family.
very very very nice.
Thank you!
Oh i love your video. You have such wonderful life there.
Thank you!
Happiest of birthdays to you!!!!🎉🎉
Happy Birthday, Nate. Thank you for the good times!
There's something unbelievably humbling and inspiring about hearing familiar praise songs in different languages and cultures. LOVE it.
I agree!
Your vlogs are always so entertaining. It's great to watch what a regular couple of days looks like! Have a great weekend.
Thank you so much!
THE LAUNDROMAT MACHINES LOOKED GERMAN. WITH ENGLISH AND GERMAN THINGIES, TOO.
Hello from Victoria BC Canada!
Happy birthday 🥰forgot to comment 😅
❤❤❤❤
Happy birthday Nate!!
I would love to listen to the band more! Is there a way to listen elsewhere?
Well some version of the band plays every week at Paz Church, but we'll be recording and producing songs (planning on it early next year) so stay tuned!
@ Amazing! I can’t wait to listen! God bless 🫶
I want one 😂
They are the best :)
@@LIJ😅 I’m gonna buy one one day!! ❤can’t wait for Christmas btw
How much is a kotatsu table in Japan? I would love to buy one in the US.
Do houses in Japan not have a central heating system?
In the Tokyo area not so much. It's when you go further north (or into snow territory)
The lack of adequate Winter heating in Japan would be a no-go for me. Korea has better heating preparation. Or I would consider a portable propane heater.
Will that recipe be on Mamachan?
You bet! Chicken Pot Pie is already out and the Tonkatsu (pork cutlets) will come out next week I believe.
I understand the title is " The season of kotatsu has come."" But how come there are no scenes the family sittig at kotatsu all togetheer.
The link for the table is the same link for the camera 😅
Oh! Thanks for letting us know!
What hymn are they singing in Japanese?
"Praise" by Elevation Worship
Kotatsu is not used (generally speaking) in Hokkaido, it’s too cold
I wondered about that, after seeing all the snow up there, I don't know how you keep warm.
You would need whole house heating there, for sure!
@LIJ Yeah, like the North here, it's just too frigid most years.
