Even in the case of joint custody the wife will likely get primary which will enable her to dictate how much time the father gets regardless of the court's decision.

after 18th birthday there is no child support and no court decision on who gets child custody. even if kids decide to stay with dad, court can decide in other direction if they asses it is in kids interest.
