Big points for showing what you like, instead of whats popular. Not enough channels like that, anymore. Id love to see a comparative cut test at 14-15dps. 18dps is leaving a good amount of performance on the table.
Thanks buddy! I was thinking about taking it down to 17dps but I didn't want to make the edge bevel too tall and ugly. I hold this knife in a bit too much esteem to disfigure it like that right now lol. Maybe in the future though.
Been thinking about seeking this, or the Falcon on the secondary. They have reissued slightly modified new versions but I think the originals are where it’s at. Great review keep it up! 🤜🤛
What a lovely video review! Thoroughly fun. I got myself one, only with the Talon grind. I will keep an eye out for the full flat, that's awesome. It reminds me of a liner lock I have from a French company named Perceval. More robust blades may be more fashionable nowadays but they lose out a lot on cutting performance. Perhaps hence the obsession with better steels at higher HRC... which still won't help that much if they have the geometry of a cleaver. I agree the Al Mar knives are beautiful. So are those Moki - I had seen something of them before (on Slick Slicers channel, if I recall), now you've piqued my interest!
@@dongkhamet1351 thank you for the kind words my friend! I definitely prefer a thin and slicey flat grind to the talon grind for cutting, but those talons are very cool looking. Can't fault them for that. Moki is a fantastic knife making company. Can't recommend them enough. I hope you give one a shot.
@mcsquirgle I've been perusing some more of your videos. Indeed I just offered my services as an overpriced Stanley blade modder as well as some unsolicited opinion or other somewhere I expect. If not it's likely coming. As for the Talon grind, one might suppose it to be the stabbier rather than the slicer, however from the slingshot whittler's perspective it also has potential. Further research required.
I’m thinking you have a lot of fire starter now for your next camping trip and I was thinking about that in the last cut test video and I see you still had it and it made me have to say something about it 😂!!! This was really interesting and your finding those ones to review is very cool!!! Keep up the amazing content and I’ll see you in the next one!!!

Turn down the music, it is a bit over bearing.
