'Underrated' is a word much thrown around but they really were. Everyone still mentioned The Strokes, The Libertines; Razorlight were right up there with them (and better than both, IMO).
15 years 😩 I’m 31 now. Razor light and The Kooks songs bring me back to a favourite time in my life. It’s crazy how much has changed and how much I’ve changed.
That was a fantastic year for music. Mr Brightside by The Killers, Take me Out by Franz Ferdinand, The Bucket by Kings of Leon, Cant Stand me Now and What became of the Likely Lads by The Libertines, I Predict a Riot by Kaiser Chiefs, Banquet by Block Party, Reptilia by The Strokes to name a few. Good memories
The indie scene back then was absolutely thriving with so many different bands bringing us quality offerings. Glad I was part of this era. Puts todays music to shame
@@antzoomayeah when kings brought their first two albums out they were absolutely unreal. Happily I saw them twice during that time. They turned so bad. What a let down.
agreed. Real bands are a dying breed. I see a fair amount amount of young talented musicians online but they seem more interested in doing covers and showing off their skills on tiktok than gathering with other musicians to jam and write original music. Sad.
You should listen to "The Beaches: Edge of the World!" The kooks , Franz Ferdinand and many brits today like Nothing but thieves, they make glorious music!
I can't put into words the feelings this song gives me. It's like the thrill of experiencing everything for the first time. Like the first time I played PlayStation, the day I received my first paycheck, the moment I first found love. It's like the first time I truly enjoyed life...
OMG I had the lyrics "all they know, is how to put you down" stuck in my head for months and I couldn't remember the rest of the song. Christ! Finally!! ❤❤ Golden Touch!
Jesus Christ why time flies so fast 😭 Still love this song so freaking much, same feelings as many years ago when i was teenager 🖤 Heart is screaming it outttt “…all they knoooooooooow”
is a track about a girl who seemingly has it all - talent, beauty, and success. The lyrics describe how everyone around her envies her and tries to bring her down by criticizing her or spreading rumors about her when she's not around. However, the narrator is close to this girl with the "golden touch" and is telling her not to pay heed to these negative remarks. The song suggests that jealousy and envy are common among people, especially when someone else appears to be more successful or happy than they are. The line "they'll never do the things that they wish that they could do so well" implies that these people envy the girl because they lack the skill or drive to achieve the same level of success. The chorus repeats this message with the line "all they know is how to put you down," indicating that the ones who criticize or spread rumors are not worth paying attention to and that the girl should continue to shine bright, using her "golden touch" to make a difference in the world. Overall, "Golden Touch" is a reminder to focus on one's talents and not let negative comments from others bring them down.
You’ll give an account to Jesus for the debauchery part. Hope you know him. Might have been a tongue in cheek joke at a certain point in time not anymore given the way children are dead and women are rapists and men are drag queens. So it’s not that cute anymore… Sodom and Gomorrah is happening again… do you think the above things are something to laugh about?…
i may not have been born into the days when this song came out but i am sure one of those young kids that love the old music. Music was way better then just like this song
I heard this song on a Aussie NRL show this month. Love them for a decade. This sound always makes me smile. Thank you Razorlight. I wish you would come to Australia🤗 I was told about this song by a uk band roadie and that was 15yrs ago!!!
My dad just listened to this song at 65 years old. Second time ive ever seen the big man shed a tear. He phoned to appologise for shedding a tear and said that he wasnt sure how to feel knowing that he has had the pleasure of being on both sides of the story. And just being overwhelmed with emotions
I remember first seeing Razorlight at live 8 and they did this tune and somewhere else and the next day i went out and bought the album Up All Night...Razorlight are massively under rated as band and some people say Johnny Borrel is arrogant. He's not arrogant he is the front man for the band and if you want to get up and sing the first rule is fuck what people think of you..Otherwise you would never be able to have the balls to get up and sing in the first place.Respect from Bolton to Razorlight
After some time song gets boring and loses its magic. Listening to one song over and over again is the worst thing u can do. You should listen to it once, and forget it. Just think about it. After some time, maybe month, maybe year you'll find it by accident and all the memories will come back.
I loved this song back in 2004/2005 but almost forgot it. What an underrated gem.
Heard it in a show I was watching and recognized it immediately!
'Underrated' is a word much thrown around but they really were. Everyone still mentioned The Strokes, The Libertines; Razorlight were right up there with them (and better than both, IMO).
This whole album was brilliant. People hated Razorlight because of Johnny but they really did know how to write some bangers.
Same, i forgot all abiut this band till ‘trouble in america’ came on the radio today, i loved these, so many good songs
This just takes me to different world,,, where im boosted with confidence and charm .... Love it

Come with us now on a journey through time and space !
Best times!❤
You forgot The Pixies. They got back together that year and played T in the Park with Razorlight, fantastic year.
Ah…. The talking moon. And The Crack Fox- What a year 😊
That crack head fox lol. Songs great too. Only joking I relate
Black Man checking in! This is that Dope we ALL NEED! YES Black Men Love Rock! Hell we invented it.
But skinny white British men invented landfill indie!
The indie scene back then was absolutely thriving with so many different bands bringing us quality offerings.

I agree. These indie bands were my childhood. THEE best era for indie bands 🙌🏼
great era, i loved classic Kings of Leon

Saw razorlight last year still amazing live
I can remember listening to this on cd at 10 years old. What song, underratted.

It was never under rated though, it was huge. This and somewhere else got them famous in england
I mean 4.9million views would beg they were never underrated
I get that this song was one that I thought was gone forever
Never gets old. The best band of the 2000s
This song is a work of genius!

I agree
Agree.
This band saved my life several times.
Never give up don't go like that god loves you
2004 was the year i left school! This song along with many others comes from what i see as the last great era of indie music.
Massively underrated song writer

Mad how listening to certain songs when you’re older you actually deep the lyrics and the song hits so much harder😂
Behind her eyes made me remember this belter

Great song. That guitar strumming really reminds me "10:15 saturday night" by The Cure.
these just played a festival in my home town, free entry, held outside rochdale town hall.
phenomenal, proper nostalgic
Listening to Virgin Radio whilst building maps for Far Cry. Jesus CHRIST I miss this period.
Time passes so quickly I’m 30 now and I ve been listening for 16 years 🤦🏼♂️
Man, the feels 💛
I'm 52 and still loving it lol
Can't beat this music era in my opinion
I'm 41, and my kids listen to it with me, and we turn it up LOUD ❤️
I dedicated this song to myself when i broke up last year, it made my self confidence even stronger!
10 years l8r.. how are you doing?

Tune ! Sent from Merseyside U.K
I was 6 years old when this song came out. 24 now and still sounds as great as the first time I heard it back when it released. Many memories.
I remember this album very well, I liked the fact it told you to play it louder because it sounds better. It that was so true.
i haven't heard this song since 2005. it's so good
Dropped I'm 2004
@Michelle Stone well he hasn't listened to it since 05.. fkinhell
Still their best tune
The track of my time at uni. Scraped a BA in media but got a PHD in debauchery. Good times

I loved this band at the time. Never seen a band lose their credibility so fast in my life.
+Scruffy P What do you mean? I love this song since forever, but I never actually heard anything else and I was thinking about starting now.
is there a reason they lost credibility mate ?
Philip Nicholls cos their music turned awful and the singer was incredibly up himself
They played at one of my uncles work dinners lol
+Philip Nicholls The song America and Borrel's proclamations in the media. He came out with a solo album in 2013 which flopped.
why is this song not better known , this is what made razorlight.

Yes Gaz fancy seeing you here lol
Apparently Sting is arrogant front man but some of his tunes! Why do people care what they're like?
Hands up getting ready for their 2023 tour!
Always loved Razorlight. Loved their first two albums, then they seemed to disappear after the third.
They just dropped a new single a couple weeks ago. It's a banger!
Can’t believe this only has 5mil views, I don’t think Americans know about this song
I heard this brilliant tune from an outro of an old English documentary and I'm instantly in love with it.
oh my God that moment in music was so amazing. Loooove this.
Still listening and loving this song so much in 2019!!!
And who the fuck cares man, it's tedious that all you Fools can spout is what year your listening to it as if it's a fucking good in put.
Matthew Brown-Smith but then all they know... is how to put you down 🤔
