- Hey Guys! I hope this video finds you well and happy! This crochet top works up super quick and easy, and is great for so many different things! This pattern uses a #4 medium weight yarn and a 5.5 mm hook. I hope you guys enjoy and get a lot of use out of this one!

Thank you so much for your tutorials! This was my first successful top. That makes my third 'first time' project from your tutorials. Shawl, boho bag, and this top. A LOT of projects that I've tried on other channels come out too big but yours are perfect. I also really like your style of teaching. Simplicity rather than overcomplicating things. I'm going to try the hat next. One of these days I'll get the courage up to try the shorts and pants. My daughter REALLY wants them. Anyway, thanks again SO much! Thank You for the tutorial! It is a beautiful design. I'm making a swimsuit cover for my eldest daughter and she wears a 5X so I added another 6 rows to the square to give it a total of 20 inches diagonally per square. She measures at a 70 inch hip and if my math is correct the added rows give it an 80 inch circumference. So again, Thank you!

This top is so cute and great for the summer! Quick question, how would I adjust the top so that it fits for a size xl? And what should I do if I wanted to make the straps thicker?
To make the straps thicker I would just go around more times and as for the xl I would do the same thing extending the rounds by a few 💙☮️💙🎶

this is beautful however there seems to be something off about the second last row the two loops should have same amount of chan=ins yes? because it just looks weird with a 7 and a 4 chain

Oh thanks for replying ....I crochet quite often it was not a mistake it was just confusing for me on second last row where you did four chains and seven chains just the way you said it I thought it looked un balanced and it was I did four chains single and four chains it worked out so it turns out it was just me I just misunderstood what you said I think . I figured it out and its fine . Thanks so much though and its a lovely top do you have a short pattern Im making for my daughter .

Iam making this top for my sister .. she is not around so i dont know how long should i make the strap.. how much is the standard length of a strap or chains u wud take for small size
I would do a 12-13 inch strap. That's total. So about 6-6.5 inches in either side when folded in half
Can anyone tell me what size the squares should be for the large size? I've got a much finer yarn I want to use.
The individual squares for a size large should measure 11” across when measuring corner to corner diagonally across the square ☮️💙🎶

The smallest size I have made this top is 28” around the bust. You can find that in the written pattern which is linked in the description box of this video. Any smaller than that I personally would not feel comfortable making as I do not feel this is an appropriate things for small children to be wearing. I hope that helps! 😊☮️💙🎶

It should say at the beginning of each video what size yarn and hook I use but for this particular pattern I used a 5.5 mm hook and a # 4 medium weight red heart yarn

I couldn’t tell you off the top of my head. It has been a long time. I am pretty sure it is in the video though. You just have to watch it, as well as it is written in the written pattern, linked in the description ☮️💙🎶
Hi, what fibre do you recommend and how much balls of yarn do you recommend for this design?
It depends on the size you are making on how much yarn you’ll need but I would say 500 yards to be safe. Also I’ve used 100% acrylic but it also just depends on the feel and fit that you are going for! ☮️💙🎶

I am so glad you like it! :) And hmm a extra small for this particular piece would be a little tricky, but if I had to try it out I would still make a size small square but instead of working double crochets I would work single crochets all the way around. so work the first and second row the same, then ch 2 which would count as a sc and a ch 1, then sc around the next ch 5, (ch 3, sc around the next ch 5, ch 1, and then work 5 sc into the next ch 5 sp, ch 3, and work 5 sc into the same sp, ch 1, and sc around the next ch 5 sp,) the repeat the (abc) all the way around slip stitching into the first ch of the ch 2 when you make it all the way around.
Hopefully that helps! If it doesn't work out (because I've never worked that, that is just what I am suggesting to you to try) Then I am more than willing to help out more! :)

I like your tutorial but I didn’t hear or see how much yarn it takes. I’d hate to start the project and run out of yarn. Please post how much yarn is needed for the project.
For projects like this I always get at least 500 yards
For XL would I just add to the chain 7 ? If so, how many???

No I would not add to the chain seven. For an extra large I would work an extra row of double crochet all the way around after the last row. So finish the last row as you would for a large, slip st into the first St as normal. Then chain three as a DC and work one double crochet for each st or chain all the way around, adding extra on the corners if you need to! I hope that helps and makes sense! If you need more help let me know! :)
Also, the bust size for a size large is 44" so I'm not sure what the bust size of that will be but after you work one square you can measure it from corner to corner across the square and multiply that by four to figure out the bust size before you move on to make sure it will be the size you need

You can use cotton if you would like, I used acrylic 😊☮️💙🎶 also about 300-500 yards I would say (also depends on the size) to work one of these 😊☮️💙🎶
I used one deramores own brand 100g yarn, following instructions for a medium and worked up as an extra small I'd say. I bought two balls just incase though

I don’t mind her wearing cute stuff, but girls and women can show off their body in a modest fashion. I’m also looking at to modify the shirt by adding in double crocheted lines under the second level of squares. Making the shirt a bit longer, as well as adding in a piece of lace ribbon, braided in the waist area to help cinch it to her size/waist.
I love this though! It’s BEAUTIFUL!

Ah I was confused too so this is what you do. You write them down. When she said to continue with same stitch all round, she meant repeat that pattern you’ve been doing. You can replay how she began a row, write it down and follow what you put down until corner where she picks up again for the next row. 👍

Don’t know if my last reply showed up? How big of a bust are you needing? The shirt is made with the same amount of squares for each size, the squares are just different sizes. I also have a xs-xl for this pattern but the xs and xl are only available in the written pattern

I am sorry I am just now seeing this comment. It depends on the size, but I tend to buy the Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo Skeins, and I made two tops out of one of those skeins. I hope that helps!

I want to do a small, how many stitches do I chain, and is the pattern the same as in video for small or different plz.
I am making a size large in this video but explain how to make the other sizes as I go along. All of the squares are basically made the same with a few slight differences to make the different sizes. I explain all of that in the video and how to work the differences as you go along. Otherwise they are worked the same. Just follow the directions in the video and when you come to the differences you’ll know!! I hope that helps!! 😊☮️💙🎶

@@TheCraftNut im not sure how to continue the trim for the top of the shirt. After I did the chain length I needed I connected the strap to the front by adding 2 sc in the chain 3 space. But how to finish the trim is where I get confused . THANK YOU FOR REPLYING! Your amazing. I wish I could send a picture where I'm stuck at. Not sure n if I explained it that well. I'm at 16 mins
Sorry it took me so long to reply again it doesn’t notify about the replies. So you just need to turn the shirt and be looking at the opposite side that you want to connect the strap to. That will be the space you put those stitches in just like the one you came off of in the other side. I hope that makes sense and if not I’ll try to help more 💙☮️💙🎶

Not sure if you’re leaving steps out on this video but I followed to a T and I’m not a beginner and your tutorial created a star, not a square.
You may be repeating a step one to many times when turning it into a square. I am pretty positive the pattern in the video is correct beings as I and many others have made this top from this pattern, but if you can point out a discrepancy I’d love to look it over. Would also love to help anymore in any way that I can ☮️💙🎶
