"This Train", also known as "This Train Is Bound for Glory", is a traditional American gospel song first recorded in 1922. Although its origins are unknown, the song was relatively popular during the 1920s as a religious tune, and it became a gospel hit in the late 1930s for singer-guitarist Sister Rosetta Tharpe. After switching from acoustic to electric guitar, Tharpe released a more secular version of the song in the early 1950s. Every time I listen to this it has a gospel-feel to it that draws me to John 3:16. Despite how rough the ride on our train in life, we are bound for glory.

I was only saying that if OP liked the energy then perhaps he should check local traditional jazz band - preferably playing at a swing dance and he would be swimming in the groove. And yes I have seen better bands playing to a dancing crowd in the street and I also danced to and had fun with much worse bands. It is all in the moment.

What a very beautiful song ! But even it is a happy song it makes me feel a little sad ... And that's because, watching this video and listening this song I remeber those thousands and thousands of young Americans which, after April 2, 1917 and December 11, 1941, left theire songs, theire dances theire homes, theire girlfriends, theire parents, picked up trains, and ships and went to fight for the freedom of the world! Perhaps some of them danced and sang before they went to fight, and they never did it again .... This is why, listening to this song, I had in mind those trains filled with the american heroes which fought for the World's freedom in WWI and WW2 and this is why I strongly believe that those trains were bound for glory! Thank you America for the right that you gave me to be free!

It's amazing how gullible humanity actually is. Basic logic tells you one thing, but let's go ahead and believe the claims of religion that's clearly corrupt and idiotic and can't offer a single piece of evidence. Brilliant job.

Uh, yea. It's a song about going to heaven. It's ok to be spiritual even if you're not a christian. Glory=heaven in this song. It's an old gospel song. But I'm sure you don't really care. Just hating on something so spiritual and beautiful is negativity for no reason.
