I saw Crystal Lake when they were touring with Northlane and Erra and everyone was just blown away by them, the boys killed it!
I saw them when they toured Australia with Polaris, Alpha Wolf and Wage War, god tier show!!!

The OG Japanese Metalcore bands were all about this sound. Bands like State Craft or Edge Of Spirit started in the mid 90s and combined the rar power of metallic hardcore with swedish melo death. Crystal Lake followed these footsteps on their first albums.
@@HS_Merciless true that is very apparent in bands like nocturnal bloodlust, and dexcore too. hiro from noku bura has been a vocalist since the early 2000s i believe when he did collage. but cazqui brought in the melodeath influence to ncbl and hiro the hardcore

Saw them on the neon alien tour with erra and northlane these three are like my fav bands ❤️. A huge shame northlane barely comes to the U.S.

Yeah, their 2020 album (which includes the Into The Great Beyond music video) was all fully funded via a Japan kickstarter platform at the start of Covid in 2020. The credits are all of their "kickstarter" backers basically.

True. I think Ryo got much more core vibes, while Kentaro could just as well be the vocalist of a melodeath band. Does Ryo use fry and Kentaro false cord? I'm honestly not sure. Both are great though!

Please check out abstracts, they were a Japanese djent and progressive metalcore band, their first self titled album had a guest solo from mark Holcomb from periphery on the song “Twillight”, although they disbanded in 2019 they are still a great listen, people were basically calling them the Japanese periphery
