As mobile provider, I believe convenience for the patient is big. The physician will really appreciate that.

I agree 10000%. Convenience is key, but focus on the convenience you bring to the referring provider first. Too many therapists focus only on convenience to the patient.

Learn Medicare Billing for PT, OT, SLP what would you say is the convenience to the referring provider apart from the convenience to the patient?

Hi, Thank you for all the important information and tips. If we promise/ advertise not to bother the physician by contacting them, Then how do we get the medical records or clarify the precautions etc?

If you need records for something then absolutely request them. But I can tell you that I have known therapists to ask for records on nearly every patient. I have been in private practice outpatient ortho since 2002 and I have asked for an op report or additional information MAYBE 3 times ever.

I really appreciate your videos. I am new marketing for PT and am a new clinic director. I am having a hard time getting through the front desk to even get to talk to the docs. I also realize that I have a steep learning curve. Any thoughts? Thank you!

I have videos on here talking about Zoom interviews with physicians. Here is an example: th-cam.com/video/_jI3nKdGyoI/w-d-xo.html
This gives you the chance to build relationships. It is free.

I like how you said you will make their life easier by getting to their patients quickly. I suppose for mobile outpatient we could say we get to your patients root problems by being in their everyday life and environment (I like to work with seniors).
We have the ability as a mobile outpatient to cost surgeons less for bundled payments vs homecare as well. I find it tough to explain part A homecare vs part b mobile outpatient succinctly. 🤔

Cost is going to be a big driver for some. Convenience is probably the biggest thing. Anything that increases convenience for the office or referral manager is huge value.

Would bringing my wife’s chocolate chip cookies every time they send me a referral make their life better?

    • @LearnMedicareBilling

Haha, it would, but not enough to gain referrals.
Funny story, I just got a delivery of fresh baked cookies at my clinic yesterday. They were gone before they got to me. The name of the person / business trying to grab my attention was on the package but in 24 hours I have totally forgotten about it until you just reminded me.

Learn Medicare Billing for PT, OT, SLP Ha! You wouldn’t have forgotten if it was my wife’s chocolate chip cookies! How could that cookie delivery gotten more traction with you? I’m finding it challenging to get in front of the dr’s to be able to tell them about my service. Any thoughts? Maybe dress up like a chocolate chip cookie when I deliver the cookies...?
