Annie's voice has always had that haunting quality with it no matter what she sang, "Would I Lie To You?" is another great song.

Good to see you back! One of my favorite Eurythmics songs. Annie Lennox has a lot of soul. Please check out her duet with Aretha Franklin called "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves."

Love how they always used her voice x2 with the background vocals. Always loved how sharp the production was and the use of strings. Have u done any Kate Bush?

I've said a lot about Annie on your reaction to her and I mean every little thing I said about her. I absolutely love her. But now let's talk about Dave Stewart. Absolute musical genius in my eyes, with a great eye for talent. He's a songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. I think he has played guitar, bass and synthie for Eurythmics' studio recordings. He is an allround genius. He has worked with so many people and has written songs for a lots of people, he has written soundtracks and much more. edit: yes I'm vague because it's so many people, check out the Wikipedia article on him
I'd like to highlight one artist he worked with that I really like: Joss Stone. In many regards she's a throwback soul singer although she also sings more modern stuff. She has an amazing voice and I think you'd like her. Try You Had Me or Right To Be Wrong. And if you want to give an absolutely crazy mixture a try that also involved Dave Stewart give anything by SuperHeavy a listen. It's pretty wild, people involved were Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, Bollywood producer(!) AR Rahman and Damian Marley, son of Reggae legend Bob Marley. And Joss Stone, of course. Yes, it's as weird as it sounds

Sascha Schneider, Joss Stone is fantastic, if you ever get the chance to see her live I highly recommend her. Also agree with everything you said about Dave Stewart.

@@Bluesbabesrv of course I've seen her live. Absolutely fantastic! Edit; I've just seen that you have Blues in your moniker - do you know Stewart Lindsey? It's a Blues duo with Dave on (slide) guitar. If you don't check out Another Lie

Real eighties synthpop, hehe. If you want to hear some more like this, I recommend "Take On Me" by A-ha, and "Forever Young" by Alphaville, very good songs, and a great video with the former.

If you like 80s music, you should hear John Farnham's cover of the Beatles song "Help." He recorded it in the early 80s, but the best version is a live one recorded with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, in '89.

Iirc, the basis of this song comes from an argument Dave and Annie had after doing a show. In the awkward silence of the aftermath, Dave was toying around on a little keyboard he had in his hotel room, found the melody to this and Spontaneously, Annie sang, 'here comes the rain again' to it
