🏀🗑️ Slam Dunk: Anime Cards vs Sports Cards 🗑️🏀

#slamdunk is a mega popular manga/anime franchise from the nineties, in fact it's listed as the 7th most popular ever by sales. So of course, we've got some #animecards sets based on the franchise. There are quite a few boxes out there, all un-licensed as far as I know, I've got 2 of them on my desk today. The first is a #tradingcards set from Little Frog, their 5-yuan Slam Dunk set. I'll be comparing that with a brand new 2024 set from an unknown publisher. To make things extra interesting I'll also add a blaster box of Panini #nba cards into the mix. Yeah, that's right, #sportscards - get ready.

I've always loved the artwork in these '90s manga, it looks like sketches come to life or something. Initial D has the same style, I wish they made more of those sets.

Thank you! I'm working on getting my brother scheduled for another WWE video - he has an encyclopedic knowledge of that sport and I have a 2023 select FOTL line box to rip with him. That's gonna be a fun time, he's got so many crazy stories to tell.

Wow Slam Dunk cards are nicer than I expect. I have recently ordered a box too but can't recall which series. If the one I have ordered is different, then this will be in my wishlist too :)

I was impressed by this new set, very high quality cards and nice treatments. I'm still searching for a box of the set where they mix Slam Dunk and real NBA players together, another commenter sent me a link to that flier but I couldn't find any vendors selling it anymore.

Yeah! I saw your message this morning - that's exactly the box I was thinking of. I tried searching for it again but only found 1 vendor selling it and they had only one box left at 35$ - I didn't actually trust that they had any left. I'll keep looking tonight after work. I would love to get a box of that set.
