- This was the theme of a 1979 sitcom TV series on ABC that was a casualty of the fading disco trend, lasting for only 8 episodes. However, the theme song sung by the series lead actor David Naughton managed to outlive it, as it entered Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1979 and cracked the Top 40 about two months after the show was cancelled, where it eventually peaked at #5, as well as going to #11 on the Disco charts. Makin' It was also featured on the soundtrack of the 1979 Bill Murray movie, Meatballs.

Thousand times better than the re-recorded version. Too bad it's not available on Spotify.
He had folks working up a sweat in 1978. He also had everybody singing "I'm pepper, she's a pepper, he's pepper, we're a pepper. Wouldn't you like to be a pepper, too?" Then, 3 years later, he would scare the HELL out of folks when he became a werewolf. His human form would make us laugh. His werewolf form would have us not wanting to turn the lights out a night.
This and the Angie theme song were the bomb🎵🎶
David Naughton one of the most underrated guys in the business.
Detroit rock city brought me here!!
THAT'S NO BIRD, THAT'S A HUNK'A FUCKIN' CHESE KENNY
Streaming services are only making the re-recorded version available. This is so much better. Thanks!
You're welcome. Wait, there's a re-recorded version?

I owned this 45 rpm record... one of my favorite songs and David Naughton was so handsome
The sitcom was short lived. I would not miss an episode.
One reason I love fucking disco!!!
Meatball brought me here
My theme song for 2020.

I LOVED this as a kid!!!
Freddie Perren produced Boogie Fever, If I Can't Have You, I Will Survive and Shake Your Groove Thing.
If I can't have you by the bee gees?
Wow! My father was the recording engineer on all these recordings! His name is Lewis PetersJr, this 45 went Gold.
I love how the label says, "From the hit ABC-TV series..." 😂
It was canceled after 9 episodes. This song was on the charts longer than the show was on the air
