This song fills me with joy in my heart, I see myself dancing and laughing with my brother before he flies to the sky. For sure he would be dancing with the angels. And I, I'll keep missing him until we can dance again.
In June 1979, I was at a funeral home visitation for my grandfather, and the community hall across the street was having a dance playing this song FULL BLAST.

That was one of my favorite movies from late 70s/early 80s. His love interest in "Werewolf" plays in Call The Midwife on PBS on Sunday nights. I was in love with her.
Norman Witt in 1973, I had you beat, I was living on an island off the coast of South Carolina. It was called Parris Island, when I was in the Marine Corps.
This song and Heaven on the 7th Floor reminds me of summers in NYC with my cousin in the basement playing records on the hi-fi. He died last year, way too soon. Amazing how the right song can bring back memories and emotions like it was yesterday. Good music lasts forever.
“Makin It” is the antidote to the “let’s get stoned and drop out” flower-power ethic that had prevailed during the 1960s and part of the 1970s. Being productive has become cool again!
Also love him for being the star of one of the best horror movies ever "An American Werewolf in London" with the award winning man-to- wolf transformation that changed the way horror FX was done from then on.
Just crossed the bridge where that last steps just clicks and everything falls into place! This happened to me last night when I was practicing French, I have been on this journey of learning a 3rd language, so I went full force at lockdown during the pandemic. And last night just like that! I am still studying but it was so much fun! I was actually writing as I would hear the sentences played out in English and I would just know how to write them. Pronunciation, spelling etc it all just came together! And as I finished the lesson for the night, I got so emotional I teared up and this magical song, just popped in my head! Thank you.
Man! Takes me back! Was 11 when this came out and was just getting into music(I still love Disco❤)That classic late 70s cheesy sound, that never sounded so wonderful & beautiful ❤❤❤
I really love this song. I first listened to this song when I was in elementary school. I didn't speak English back then, but the song proyects such a positive vibe that just struck in my mind for years. Eventually i learned english and realized how positive the liricks were. Years went by and I wanted to buy the record again since I lost it. Couldn't find it on CD but I found the song for download on Google music a few years ago, not the original from 1978 but a re recorded version which is quite close to the original. So now I have it in my phone. I would've preferred the original though, but I think is no longer available due to record company's legal issues or something, I guess. Cheers
This is 1 Great Song that is So Positive which I have had things happen to me and once you really listen to this one I Guarantee You Really Are Going To Make it. I always say this is My Year

Whenever I hear this song ,I think of the scene in the movie Detroit Rock City , where the Kiss fans had the final laugh on the Disco guys that ran them off the road. Great movie by the way , with a kick ass , classic rock soundtrack .
This song was released during my senior year in high school. At the time, I never would have guessed--in all my angst-- that they would become the good old days. I wish I could go back for a day.
Omg! I get into my mix of freestyle and disco unforgettable memories of wedding parties back in to 70's and summer get together with friends just such a fun and memorable times! Thankyou David Naughton!
I just watched Meatballs last night, and heard this song. It is a timeless classic, but I had no idea who performed it. I was surprised to learn it is David Naughton from American Werewolf in London. I had no idea he was a singer? Kris L. CocKayne
I thought he looked familiar, I was a kid when the song and the movie came out and I didn't know that bit of music/movie trivia. Thanks for the info. LOL
alady4justice71 He does a lot of things on Broadway and new York area now and guest spots for TV!! He did friends and sex and the city last I heard so check them out! He's still working but not out in the public to much he did the Dr. Pepper jingle as well so enjoy the memorys of his work I know he does!!
Enjoy this version. The versions on Spotify and Pandora are poor remasters.... that do not capture the essence, lyrics and harmony that this version does. A memory is priceless, this TH-cam version recognizes that.
I HAVE THIS ALBUM!!! The album where it plays this one song for like an hour. Or something like that. Always loved it. So glad to hear it in a Subway commercial!!!
I was 8 yrs old when I saw this in the theatres with my sister and cousins. Then for the double feature it was Jaws 2. The next day was the 4th of july and we were at the beach. No one wanted to go in the water at mission beach.
I remember that show. I was a big fan -- I remember him singing on Dr. Pepper commercials too. AWIL is still one of my favorite movies. Remember him from My Sister Sam as well. I wish he would have been a bigger star. They're running this song on Subway commercials now, and I recognized it right away, lol.
Look, its a lot better than today's musical mess. People played real instruments and a lot of those Disco singers could actually sing. I like all music! Hard Rock, Rock, Country, Folk and Disco! The 70's had so much variety.
Just got diagnosed with cancer - this is now my theme song!!! Thanks David!!!
Stay strong and everthing will be good !!!

I have shamelessly loved this song for 40 years. I dont care what anyone says it’s a banger and I sing like a Broadway star when it’s on.
As You Should Continue Singing Man 👏
Do you clap as well and suddenly get in an incredible mood? The song is a banger sir!
That’s how you should react. Otherwise, you’re Fakin’ It. And that’s always the wrong thing to do.

One of the last great songs of the 70s this song and the movie reminds me so much of my childhood fantastic memories that I will always cherish
Such a cutie ! I also loved him on the Dr. Pepper commercials :D
Whenever I hear this song ,I think of the scene in the movie Detroit Rock City , where the Kiss fans had the final laugh on the Disco guys that ran them off the road.
Great movie by the way , with a kick ass , classic rock soundtrack .
Absolute best movie ever and the soundtrack is 💯
That’s not a bird that’s a hunk o fuckin cheese!
Whatever STELLA!

This song was released during my senior year in high school. At the time, I never would have guessed--in all my angst-- that they would become the good old days. I wish I could go back for a day.
Jon Steingass Me too!! I was in the fifth grade when this song came out, and there was this guy in my class who kept singing it to all the girls.
Omg! I get into my mix of freestyle and disco unforgettable memories of wedding parties back in to 70's and summer get together with friends just such a fun and memorable times! Thankyou David Naughton!
Great tune!!! makes me so happy!!! wish i could ever dance this in a club at 70´s!!
LOL
alady4justice71 yes he was
alady4justice71 Making It was also a short lived sitcom on ABC!!
alady4justice71 He does a lot of things on Broadway and new York area now and guest spots for TV!! He did friends and sex and the city last I heard so check them out! He's still working but not out in the public to much he did the Dr. Pepper jingle as well so enjoy the memorys of his work I know he does!!
I love this song...a blast from the past!!!
YEAH YUHH 🎉🚀🎊
Enjoy this version. The versions on Spotify and Pandora are poor remasters.... that do not capture the essence, lyrics and harmony that this version does. A memory is priceless, this TH-cam version recognizes that.
This was the song i remember so well skating at the roller rink as a little boy in '79. 🛼
I HAVE THIS ALBUM!!! The album where it plays this one song for like an hour. Or something like that. Always loved it. So glad to hear it in a Subway commercial!!!
I imagine as this is what FINANCIAL FREEDOM feels like. Thousandaire Baby!!!! You can do it!!
Thumbs up for all those who remembered the 1979 movie "Meatballs"!!
I remember that movie. But I bet that not many people know that the movie spawned three sequels.
openmind1966 I am watching the Meatballs movie now . I got the DVD because it doesn't air on t.v. any longer
openmind1966 the basketball scene was classic!!!
YES!!
Alright, virgins to the left, non-virgins to the right. You guys split 'em up however you want.
I was 8 yrs old when I saw this in the theatres with my sister and cousins. Then for the double feature it was Jaws 2. The next day was the 4th of july and we were at the beach. No one wanted to go in the water at mission beach.
One of the greatest songs growing up. Nothing but fantastic memories
What??? The guy from An American Werewolf In London was a singer too??? I had no idea until right now!!!
Such a cutie ! I also loved him on the Dr. Pepper commercials :D
I will forever love David Naughton and Makin it will always be His signature song!
Who here has seen DETROIT ROCK CITY? Best movie ever.
I happily found this song through that movie! One of the best movies along with Dazed and Confused.
After all the horrific things that have happened this year, this is my new theme song for 2015!
"That ain't no bird! It's a hunk of fuckin' cheese!"

What a very handsome and talented Werewolf!
Great song he was gorgeous David Naughton
Somehow,I can't get enough of this song!
David Naughton Was On TV's Makin' it on ABC!
I loved My Sister Sam. I am sad about the actress that played Pam Dawber's sister being murdered. :-(
This was one of the first songs I ever bought. I got the 45 when it came out. I was eight years old.
"Disco is NOT DEAD! Disco is LIFE!" - Tony P.
Look, its a lot better than today's musical mess. People played real instruments and a lot of those Disco singers could actually sing. I like all music! Hard Rock, Rock, Country, Folk and Disco! The 70's had so much variety.
said to be the classic of KTEL records
Ah yes, KTEL! I haven't thought about them in a long time. Thank you for the memory!
Starflight 1979!!
@@justinelynn9159, yes! I had that album! 🙂
let's go back in time to the 70s. ..awesome music.
They sent me this in my You tube feed, so I decided to click on it...I am not disappointed. Reminds me of KC and the Sunshine band. Nice!
Such A Great Era ⏳
