    First of many BB-8 upgrade videos! I've been meaning to upgrade BB-8 for a long time and the head here is just the tip of the droid! Stay Tuned for more!

      @@danward6134 Jeez, for a fully assembled board? Or just the board? I wouldn't go with assembly on this, its pretty easy to solder. PCBWay can get you 5 boards for 5 bucks + shipping.

    Hey hey, great to see a new Patchbots video. Love how small the PCB is! I bet lots of BB8 builders will be hitting you up for it :)

    Very nice! When I get around to making my second BB with more light weight panels and dome, I will definitely have a similar board for his dome!

      Thanks Micke! I'm sure you'll do great, I remember watching your skeleton progress as I built this the first time around!

    That's exactly what I want my BB8 to be able to do but I'm having trouble getting the code onto the arduino Uno, do you have any tips? Also was your code with the volume control integrated into the Arduino code thats on the BB8 builders club or is it your own custom code?

    I know this is a super old video, but was wondering if any of your boards/mounts are available for download if we want to mimic your build? I think I am simply going to do a static droid with a moving head and sound. So this would be greatly helpful!

    Hi, I am getting ready to build Bb-8's dome and I would like to use your files. but my printer cannot print the full dome/ring. Is there any chance you have a sliced version, in 4 pieces for both?
    Thank you soo much!

    Nice work. I have also been planning on using a transducer in my modded spinmaster BB-8, though I keep waffling on the idea for weight reasons. I may end up buying the same model transducer that you have (which I wasn't aware of before this video) as its listed weight is significantly lower than the Dayton Audio models that I already have on hand. I've never attempted to design a custom board, but I've been keeping that idea in the back of my mind in the (very likely) event that I end up needing to reduce the weight of my dome.

      Thanks! Yeah the transducer is definitely the way to go. As I learned with my little "power glitch" they definitely draw way more current than a regular speaker, so consider that as well. Very loud though! I also use done in my DC-15 clone blaster build which you can see on my channel. They are pretty versatile little things! Good luck with your build! I received my updated boards for this BB-8 projects and the "power glitch" has been resolved. Looks like it truly was just bad board wiring and poor heat sinking. I'll be posting my gerber files/ schematics with the Part 2 video if you want to take a peek as you make your own board.

    Why did the head fall off? It's bcs not enought strong magnets?

    • @PatchBOTS
      @PatchBOTS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pretty much. It's more because the head is too heavy. I'm building a new BB-8 and using ABS instead of PLA. It's much lighter

      I'm currently running a Taz5 and a CR-10. The CR-10 is a great affordable option if you're just starting out
