Mikey6048 And you better have good aim and muscle memory on its location cause the button itself is no bigger then a US nickel....it’s a toy. At least other DD systems come with real emergency stops. Ones with large flat buttons that you could trigger with a finger nail while you were blindly slapping at it trying to hit it. This was designed to be a power button not actually safety device. Because reaching around to the back of the base could be a pain depending on your setup. I have mine mounted by my knee so I could hit it if my arms or mullet were caught in the wheel. But mostly so I can reach down and power the unit on and off.....I don’t really have a mullet.
what a master piece. in south Africa we don't get this. i had to be happy with a logitech g29 and g920 with my ps4 and xbox 1.i had no choice. the thrustmaster wheels are a bit better, but far from Fanatec. i don't have to test a wheel to see if it is quality. the build quality and interchangeable says it all. i hope i can one day get a test on a fanatec wheel.this is the best wheel on the marked to date to buy.a steering wheel works like F1.look at the lap times of drivers.a good driver with a bad wheel will never get close to a bad driver(not the entry level drivers.i meam a driver that is not rank in the top 10 of a certain track ect. Just imagine driving a logitech g29 wheel and suddenly you upgrade to a fanatec wheel.Your driving will improve with 2 seconds a lap.trust me on that. i am not saying Logitech is bad, they are value for money, but not in a class on fanatec wheels. there is actually no better wheel than fanatec. pls come to South Africa.

It would be great if some kind of key was developed for the DD1/DD2 and maybe for the DD to use with the PS4/5 as well. Similar to the Torque Key, except that you then plug it into the data port or can port. I think many would welcome it and would be happy to pay for it, of course. Especially in view of the approaching competition from Logitech and Trustmaster. I'll register as a test pilot ;-)
Very informative, but do you offer any kind of bracket or brace for those of us who do not have a Sim rig? I have to mount mine on a desk but don't really see any way that would work with the DD2
They build this for full developed/committed sim drivers. Not for guys like you and me, that attach wheelbases to our desks. Besides what's the point on buying this if you gonna downgrade the experience by attaching it to a desk.
I dont have a A button on my wheel to calibrate with, why is it so impossible to find info on how to calibrate and setup the actual gear you have bought from Fanatec! really shitty tbh. Even on there site i can not find the information i need linked to the products i have.
WhiteHawk I meant the very top of the wheel is at the 12:04-05 position....actually probably 12:02, Just slightly off center. With my CSW V2 it always physically centered itself when I powered it on, so did my T500. Is it a direct drive thing that it doesn’t physically center itself when powered on? Thanks.

Question is about the quickrelease ... do you sell a solid release system as in mounting the wheel with screws tight instead of the fast release system with a rubber squeeze thingy holding it almost solid.
Hi Dutch Infinity. There is a threaded bolt hole in the QR shaft that allows our wheels to be bolted in addition to the spring-loaded QR mechanism which can help to minimise play. Please note that this play in the QR is not particularly detrimental to FFB, as it is in a different axis to the steering rotation. There is virtually zero play in the rotational axis, which is what delivers the sharp response of a high-performance direct drive system. I have used Fanatec bases using this quick release system for years, and never felt the need to use this bolt.
The Podium wheel bases use the same three-hole mounting pattern as the CSL and ClubSport bases. Please check with your rig manufacturer for confirmation.
You can use the ClubSport Table Clamp (available separately) to attach a Podium wheel base to a desk. Bear in mind the Podium wheel bases are very heavy and very powerful, and are intended for use with a strong sim rig. Therefore you need to ensure that your desk is VERY strong and solid to get a similar experience.
Sim racing wheel bases generally do not come with mounting screws because you need to use an appropriate length of screw for the surface you are mounting to. As all tables/stands/rigs/cockpits are different, it isn't possible to provide screws that are suitable for everyone.
If combined with an Xbox One-licensed steering wheel, it should, although both the base and the wheel may require firmware updates for the latest feature and stability improvements.
Hi I have a question about my dd1 for ps4. When i start the base the wheele turns a quater to the right and back to middle positon. Is that normal? I just watched some csl videos on You Tube and now this one. It is different to my W.Base when i start it. Base is 5 month old and it from beginning like that. Thanks for and Help!! :)
Yes it is normal. You can always check that your steering rotation is working correctly (or if you want to recalibrate the centre position) in the Fanatec driver. If you have any issues, please create a support ticket via the My Products section of your Fanatec account.

$1500 .. for the dd1 pedals and wheel . you think you could add mounting screws . At least let us know mounting screws not included .. in your vid .. not a good start for me . I had to do my homework and run to the hardware store to buy screw .. added another hour to the build . thanks for nothing ..
Arreglad los Drivers!!!! cada actualizacion que sacais es para peor!!! Me da rabia y pena que un producto aparentemente TOP tenga tantos fallos en sofware. La ultima actualizacion lo ha estropeado todo en mi DD2 y al haber actualizado los volantes tambien no tengo manera de volver atras!! Si vuelvo a instalar los drivers anteriores , todo funciona perfectamente(menos nos volantes que ya tienen la actualizacion ultima y no encuentro la manera de volver atras en ellos). No saqueis actualizaciones que no esten perfectamente probadas. Os comen el terreno !!!! MOZA,SIMOCUBE,etc..... despertad!!

My fanatec belt driven system broke, I was just hoping that this one would be less likely to have the same issue if it were desk compatible lol

My DD2 doesn’t center when I power on the base. It’s slightly off, maybe at the 12:04 position. I’ve calibrated it a few times. Anyone else?

Hi David, yes silicone grease is the recommended type of lubricant as it won't react with the rubber.

If you use a SimLab cockpit or something similar, you can use one corner bracket to mount the kill switch.
