I have a 70lb gsd, what kayak would you recommend with a $300 budget
I have started kayaking with my 65 lb mutt in my Pelican. I like the fact that it is a wide kayak and very stable in the water. Periodically my dog will stand up and it’s a little hairy, because I’m afraid she will try to jump out, but most of the time she’ll sit quietly. I give her lots of treats to encourage to want to stay in the boat. Once she got right up on the bow, and as I pulled her back, she turned and slipped off the boat into the water. Fortunately she was able to swim to shore wearing her life vest. I’ve put some yoga mat material on the bow now, so if she does get up there, she won’t slip, but it really does destabilize the boat.

Hi Kimmi. We have pelican kayaks that we bought at docks sporting goods. Amazing kayaks, bought them years ago and they’re still in like new condition.
i would like to train my dog to go sea kayaking but i’m not sure if people take there dogs out on the sea ?

Hi Sergeant. The only way I can explain it is, Loki is just an easy going great dog. He loves going for rides in the kayak and just chills out when we are kayaking. Thanks for watching!
