So here goes. Trumpeter are releasing a mk 22 with a Pak 40 mounted and yes 1/16. Also an early 251 normal 1/16. And yes Trumpeter are up there now with accuracy.
WOW! In addition to being totally blown away by the detail, my initial thoughts include: (1) Das Werk MUST offer a version with a TRANSPARENT HULL!!! (2) Das Werk MUST make the FRONT WHEELS ABLE TO TURN (steering)!!
Its a stunning kit. I think you should suggest to Das Werk that they bring out a kit of the chassis with tracks and wheels. That would be a brilliant kit on its own
This is a great kit. Mine is on pre-order! Looking forward to seeing you at IPMS Annual. One thing that could be improved on in general (in 1/16) is start to have figures in character (ie working, conversation and action settings) but not in resin. A more affordable plastic I believe would or could be acceptable. Having figures to the 251 D would be AWESOME!
Re: the steering wheel. The Ferret scout car (and the Saladin/Saracen as far as I'm aware) also had a similar inverted steering wheel, never had any problems using it.
beautiful..still room for super-detailing in the engine, and half the radio equipment is missing, but it's apparently a great foundation for a brilliant model..
Salut oui d'accord avec toi intérieur et triste modèle sortie vete fait pour le prix a cette échelle tout devrait être avec la maquette enfin est un début 😉👌
I'd love to make one of these with a squad of infantry jumping out, similar to the old Tamiya kit. I imagine suitable 1/16th figures will be available eventually?
Hi yes I agree I guess Jeff shuie will have some but they are difficult to get I wish young miniatures would bring out 1/16th figures or even tamiya along with weapons packs
Andy, please develop an "Andy's Hobby Headquarters" WW2 M2/M3 U.S. Half-Track or support Das Werk to develop one in 1/16 scale. What a complementary pair this would be.
Super video and super model Andy, but after the tanks and haltracks, it would be interesting to also produce motorcycles like "Zündapp KS 750" and "harley-davidson motorcycle "iron horse", which are almost impossible to find in 1/16
Not as hard to drive as they look! I had a drive of Peter Jackson's OT--810 a few years ago. Heaps of fun, until on of the lads snapped the gear leaver off!!
I think the towing hitch receiver is upside down. It should be even to the ground. Ref. Panzer Tracts No. 15-3. Though I'm probably wrong. Am about most things!
looks like I'm going to have 2 of these because before I saw this model I ordered the 1 from trumpeter 251 with 800 parts in all coming in at 77 euro it will be nice to see if there is a differ between both of them if any
Great set! Excellent detail! We will wait for his appearance in Russia. Thanks for the review! (Отличный набор! Отличная детализация! Будем ждать его появления в России. Спасибо за обзор!)
Hello Andy Thanks and congratulations for your channel!!! I,m a Spanish modeler Could you tell me the measurements of the vehicle?? Width and long Thank you so much!!!
Andy + are they going to come out with a flack 88 millimeter gun to go with this as well they are starting to produce a lot of 1/16 scale armor kits now just curious
Did I just see some slide molding??? Ha ha. Now this is a really cool kit, maybe after my next military retirement check, I might be able to make some financial adjustments and purchase this kit. It sucks being on a fixed income, scrimping and saving, oh well, ha ha.
@@stevengriffin7873 🤣 Uh yea, at $500 to $600. Just hoping for a cheaper version. Have found two different versions for $224 but still a little pricey.
Looks really nice, one could even say impressive ! Plenty of Detail gives me hope that there will be no need for aftermarket-products to get a stunning result and a widely correct recreation of the original vehicle. Nevertheless, this gives many options for creating a diorama scene, so I hope there will be a set of crew-figures and accessories released for this kit, like it happened for the (also incredible) Das Werk STUG III ! Thanks for presentation, Andy !
When you get a 251/22 in 1/16 - I’ll be interested. I agree with Andy - the German designers did no favors for the drivers - seems the wheel for the driver in WW2 German AFVs was very bad as far as far as ergonomics for human drivers. Also the made the 251 in the Ausf D variant - would prefer the earlier version for those doors - but that would be much more complicated model - considering all the time they put into the engine, etc - would prefer less engine stuff and more external work - like early version doors and add ons to make different versions
Maybe they wanted the driver to have ability to leave the vehicle fast in case of it being on fire :) Getting behind normal wheel from ...behind might be difficult 😅
The steering wheel on the Ferret scout car of the British has a similar angle, it is awkward at first, but doesn't take long to get used to, I love the detail on the rear of the clocks on the dashboard, they are begging for wiring. What an amazing kit.
In the time of 3d printers turning 1:35 figures to 1:16 is a matter of changing one option. You will have hundreds of resin figures from third party before this things will be in shops.
AAHHHH! You're killing me! Can't you use your connections to build some US figures and armor in 1/16th? I know they are German but not everyone is a Werhaboo. I would like more WW2 US diorama abilities with the armor and figures to do it. (Like 1/16 tank riders for your Sherman).
I'm working on a wiring diagram for the radio. But the things at the other ends of the wires (loudspeaker, power supply, headphones) don't seem to be in this test shot. Hopefully they will appear before release.
Nice kit. In Mai there was a real Tiger 1 tank here at the Militracks Day in Overloon, Netherlands. And several Sdkfz's of most types. 150 German driving vehicules in total.
Stunning, I hope they release a set of troops designed to fit this model. Got 2 on order👍👍
So do I
Yes it would look awesome
Putting the 251 up against the Stug and the Tiger shows just how big this vehicle was in real life. Awesome looking kit.
Im definitely going to be preordering this. It'll be my first 1/16 scale model
That's YUGE and beautiful!
Nice to see the larger scales coming out!
I built many many 35 scale... This is incredible!
Anyone else remember trying to build the old 1970s Tamiya 1/35th kit?
Wow, I was hoping for 1/16th 251. Having it towing a Pak 40 would be epic, so much possibilities!
So here goes. Trumpeter are releasing a mk 22 with a Pak 40 mounted and yes 1/16. Also an early 251 normal 1/16. And yes Trumpeter are up there now with accuracy.
5 minutes into the video and I ordered it. First order from you, can't wait for September!
Cant wait for this!! Looks great!
It looks fantastic, great job. Next wish is the SDkfz 9 Famo
Detail like this, and this scale, make me want to finally buy my first 1/16 model. Just amazing detail! Love Hanomags!
Wow that's a fantastic looking kit from das werk definitely going to get this one nice one Andy Steve
Just received mine today (thanks Andy) and it is packed with parts!
Incredibly impressive. But the size...I still don't have a final home for my StuG, sigh.
Outstanding Video of a great kit. Can't wait until the one I ordered arrive..
thanks Andy I can't wait to build it

Ordered mine when you first announced it was up for preorder. I am beyond excited after seeing this!!
Looks great! Let’s see what trumpeter can come up compared to this🎉
Wow Andy! I have wanted a 1/16th (or holy grail 1/8th) SdKfz 251 for years.... Great looking model
CAN NOT WHAT TO GET ONE, I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SEE A FULL CREW FOR THIS KIT WITH R OF THEM ON THE MG42
Nice to see PROPER details on the tyre sidewalls. The new standard please.

Nice build for next inter and it will lovely together with my Trumpeteet 1/16 Jagdtiger.
A cool "companion" for the Trumpeter M16 Quadruple indeed!
Sweet kit
this looks very yummie 😍 happy modelling XL 👍
Wow, looks awesome!
Thank you.
Can't wait till my pre-orders come in. Think I will put one at the top of my build list, knocking the Tiger down a notch.
Can’t wait to see it painted
Dammit Andy you’re making me spend more money! 😂 Cannot wait for this one!
Can’t wait to get mine she is beautiful 👍
ANDY; *'It is beautiful.....!'* Gollum ME; *'Yes it is! Give me MY precious!'* 1/16th scale is simply the best,. A modeller's dream!
Das ist ein Muß man haben...wow tolles Fahrzeug..
Love that Tiger you put out. If it’s not the Hanomag that gets me to jump, it will be that Tiger!
Interestingly the British army’s reconnaissance vehicle CVR(W) Fox from circa 1980s had the steering wheel in the same position
Hello, a video showing how to paint the chassis and the interior, with the different colors is possible? Thanks;
beautiful..still room for super-detailing in the engine, and half the radio equipment is missing, but it's apparently a great foundation for a brilliant model..
Salut oui d'accord avec toi intérieur et triste modèle sortie vete fait pour le prix a cette échelle tout devrait être avec la maquette enfin est un début 😉👌
Agreed, the radio should have a loudspeaker, a power supply, an antenna lead with two impedance matchers, and a headset.
I'd love to make one of these with a squad of infantry jumping out, similar to the old Tamiya kit. I imagine suitable 1/16th figures will be available eventually?

Looks amazing , I hope they alter the text on the tyres , it's Continental for reference not Coninental 😂
Ordering mine. It's breathtaking.
This kit looks awesome
Definitely want to get one those, been waiting for a long time. Just pre-ordered, thanks Andy.

Ну привет… наконец то дождались!!!
Very nice Andy, I think I can find room in my stash for it. 🙂
Not as hard to drive as they look! I had a drive of Peter Jackson's OT--810 a few years ago. Heaps of fun, until on of the lads snapped the gear leaver off!!
Nice job Andy!
is there any glue involved in securing the track links together or they snapfit securely
I think the towing hitch receiver is upside down. It should be even to the ground. Ref. Panzer Tracts No. 15-3. Though I'm probably wrong. Am about most things!
Soviet tanks in 16th would be nice. Is2 and is3. Su152 and isu152. T54/55/62/64/80/90. BMPs and BMDs.
Yeah the track pads were to short in the fb cad images there looking into it
Wow! That looks so good you don’t want to paint it!
looks like I'm going to have 2 of these because before I saw this model I ordered the 1 from trumpeter 251 with 800 parts in all coming in at 77 euro it will be nice to see if there is a differ between both of them if any
Trumpeter is making really nice models lately, my sd kfz 8 had over 700 pts
Outstanding video.
Needs a full squad of Wehrmacht boys! Hopefully they capitalize on this and do exactly that as an aftermarket.
Great set! Excellent detail! We will wait for his appearance in Russia. Thanks for the review! (Отличный набор! Отличная детализация! Будем ждать его появления в России. Спасибо за обзор!)

Way awesome kit.

Have mine ordered already
Did I just see some slide molding??? Ha ha. Now this is a really cool kit, maybe after my next military retirement check, I might be able to make some financial adjustments and purchase this kit. It sucks being on a fixed income, scrimping and saving, oh well, ha ha.
wow! got my preorder in!
Just seen the sprue shots for Trumpeters. Its ummm well errr a little less detailed I think is the polite way to put it... It seems DW Rocked the 251
These models are comparable to assembling the actual vehicle, but in mini scale. Great video sir. Maybe a famo next!!! 🙏
How about three Famo's towing a Tiger or Panther.
Nice looking kit. Would still love to see a 1/16 M1A1 Abrams tank. 😊
Already done.
@@stevengriffin7873 🤣 Uh yea, at $500 to $600. Just hoping for a cheaper version. Have found two different versions for $224 but still a little pricey.

Maaaaan those Kar 98s are stunning! Something about the MGs stocks seem off. Or maybe it’s just my bad eye sight lol😅
No, you are correct, they look flat, not the contoured shape they should be, but Andy did say there will be corrections.

gotta have one wait I already pre-ordered one lol
Amazing!
This kit is begging for figures....They have to come through on that or it will be a let down.
Zerr vill be nine (no) figures😂

Totally agree but I’m more interested in US Armor that figures would love a 1/16 M18 Hellcat, M26 Pershing, M36, M10, M4A1 etc
Hopefully in the future they will make 1/16 Sdkfz-222 , Sdkfz-234 Puma , Sdkfz-7 and Sdkfz-9 Famo in injection kit
Praying for a sd kfz 250 in this scale ..
@@uraigroves7898 agree
Now we’re talking in 1/16
Diorama base with two 1-16ths is going to need to be at least four square feet.
That is quite nice.
Omg incredible!!!!!
Looks awesome 💯
imagine a tiger 1/16 with full interior 😯 I would pay so much for a kit like this 🤣
I’m a little disappointed the late version of the hood isn’t available as an option
Ok how about 1/24 scale military equipment. I would pay 150.00 it .
Very nice!! 👍👍
Thank you 👍

I can't take much more of this. LOL
So, how many variants are coming, a 251/9? 😝 251/2 should be an easy one to do. 251/22 or 23 or the 11 Yummy
Convert into RC ?
No point without crew??
Lotta 1/16 scale German figures out there. Alpine, Jeff chiu, etc...
这个要赞🎉
Is it September yet ?
I wish
Damn!
