I have a dear friend and her young daughter who live in Lahaina. They are safe from the fires, but the school where she teaches (located not far from the landmark Banyan Tree) was destroyed. This beautiful song and dance bring peace and calm to the soul. I know that she loves the music of the islands, and I will share this with her.
I lived in Hawaii for three years and was so impressed with the spirit of Hawaii. I also loved Israel Kamakawiwo’ole Facing Future Album. There’s just something about the voices and language and emotions that pulled at my heart.
This brings back wonderful memories of a visit to the Big Island years ago. When she picked me up, my dear friend who lives there recommended I immediately tune my rental car's radio to the local All Hawaiian Music All the Time radio station and never turn it off as I drove around the island. I loved it. My heart goes out to the residents of these irreplaceable islands for their losses. Not only people, flora and fauna, but so many museums and their treasures were lost in these fires. But I also learned how resilient and accepting they are of what Life and Nature bring. However we ALL must vow to do FAR better in our relationship with our one and only home planet and how we treat Her. Mother Nature always bats last and She Never Loses.

Keali'i is an excellent singer and musician, as seen in this wonderful video. All of the musicians are wonderful and played so well.
