Wright has always been anti-Hurts... but as a Philly fan, last season created a lot of doubt on Hurts across the board. Everything went backwards in 20-23, even intangibles. Just a year before, Hurts exuded confidence, was a guy that if you needed a 4th qtr drive, he always got it. Fast forward to 2023 and he couldn't dig the team out of any level of adversity. There are genuine, serious questions as to which Hurts we'll see in 2024. Of course, I'm pulling for him... but the unprecedented collapse in 2023 was not an illusion.
Regarding Hurts' Super Bowl... overall, he was excellent. But late in the game, backed up deep in their own territory, he couldn't get a first down and the subsequent punt was returned back to the Eagles red zone and the game was lost.
There was no concern with Hurts from someone who is serious. The questions lie with the coaches..that is why the whole team on both sides went backwards

I like how they put the whole failure of the Eagles team at the end of the year on Jalen hurts when outside of like the terrible coaching and play Khols you could put 75% of the losses on the defense easily especially players like James Bradberry, who didn’t tackle barely hit anybody didn’t do their jobsaying that Jalen hurts was terrible. He was the reason they won so many games by pushing through in the end with all the comebacks.

Hurts has had top O Lines, top WRs, top running game and a top Defence. And they were terrible at the end of the year, how would be a top QB? 1 good season doesn’t make u a top QB
he hasnt has 1 good season tho hes been good his whole career. 2021 he had a rookie Devonta Smith and Jalen Reagor and still went 9-8 and made the playoffs. In 2022 when they get AJ he becomes a MVP Candidate and wouldve won it if he didnt get hurt. Last year he had bad coaching the defense was literally ranked 31st last season and so was the passing game.They ran the most vanilla offense last year even a high school team couldve stopped that offense. One down year doesnt make you a bad QB. Dont forget he was the reason the Eagles won those 11 ga,es last year. If Mariota plays the Eagles only win 6 games last year.
I would like to thank you for making this video. This is hands down the most ridiculous take by Nick Wright and the biggest confirmation that he is indeed an Eagles hater. This is the same guy that said last season that even though he didn't believe Jalen was the MVP, when he was leading the race for a SECOND straight year, that he was the most clutch player in the league. The best point that was brought up was Jalen having a different OC every single year of his career. I think Jalen has played pretty good despite that huge handicap. If that was not true I would believe the Super Bowl is an outlier and that without the “tush push” they would have been mediocre. Although to some degree I believe they perfected a cheat code with that play and without it they probably wouldn’t won half the games they did.
That’s not accurate. I mean distilling their success down to one play is kind of silly. It’s an advantage. But only because of Hurts and the oline. No other team has been able to do it like them.

Hurts played out of his mind in 2022 with a loaded roster on both ends of the ball and very weak schedule. Last year the D broke down and the offense had to turn it up and they collapsed. They are on their 3rd O Coordinator and I don't think Hurts likes the system. Hurts still struggles actually reading defenses. I can see him being a backup in a few years and his schtick might get old in Philly.

@@JWLSports Im not claiming Jalen is awful, hes not. however its absolutely possible to view him as a systems guy who is dependent on those around him. I also referred to josh allen in the way that you call him elite, and said he will have to elevate the roster around him of no names, which if jalen is also elite, he should be capable of doing also, but you defended the opposite saying if he has subpar talent he shouldnt be expected to do excellent things. Im saying you have to keep your take consistent.

That’s not really accurate. His first season as a starter he lead the eagles to the playoffs. Second year Super Bowl. And then third year even though he was injured and played with a terrible oc and dc and defense he lead the eagle to a 10-1 start. 🤷♂️ Beating the Bills, Chiefs, rams, dolphins, cowboys, and Bucs. All playoff teams.
@JWLSports Yeah, but Hurts' play in that first playoff year was very average. He played very well the following year and was rewarded with that contract. Last season, his play was very average again. Yes, they were 10-1 at one point, but again, even with the aid of a stacked team, Hurts' play was far removed from what he had shown the year prior.
