I’m jealous you had a good experience with a Chevy car there terrible for me. My 2014 Chevy Cruze was terribly unreliable it was such a lemon. My mom offered me to instead of trading it she could give me an older car with more miles she had a Toyota Camry 2011 and I never regret my decision. She complains to me all the time about something breaking down or something wrong with the car my other experience was a Chevy Malibu hybrid. Extremely unreliable broke down all the time but luckily the car dealer gave me more then I paid for it so I made a little profit selling it back surprisingly.

I bought a 2010 Chevy Malibu LTZ with 89k for $10k in 2015. 8 years later with 195k miles I’ve had to replace the transmission this year and it currently burns oil but I mean the car has been great. These cars do have their problems but if you treat them right and do the maintenance they should last or at least give you your bang for your buck

In 2008 my dad bought this car. Had an inline 4 and for the time, it felt really fancy. This, according to my dad was the car that saved GM during the Great Recession. Reached somewhere between 250,000 or 200,00 miles and the transmission finally broke. Replaced that and now the cars has over 300,000 miles. This was my first car and I absolutely loved it. This in my opinion was the most reliable malibu out of the versions that preceded after it, which isn’t anything to applaud about but I think is very impressive.

This was GM's first car in a while that they actually took pride in designing, and it shows. It was THEE quietest mid-sized sedan in it's class in 2008, both with the engine noise and wind/tire noise. Dual-pane front windows helps with that. It was right up there with the Honda accord and Toyota camry when it came to fuel economy too. I've driven my sister's 2010 LT 2.4, and boy, it's definitely quiet, comfortable but not floaty, and has surprisingly excellent body control in turns. It's not fast by any means, but it can do a tiny burnout if you brake-torque it 🤣🤣

My 2009 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ w/ an LY7 3.6L v6 has 97k & it’s still the fastest/Economical V6 Sports Sedan no one can buy in the market! Plus I know my shit about the problems that stem with this car & I have to say 99.99% of mechanical problems fall on the owners lack of maintenance! The only thing in this video that’s not opinionated is the power steering system (or the electrical system depending on the trim level) which will go after driving over 100k miles on the original system…. Just like most things that have over 100k 🤷‍♂️…. So idk what where this hate for the 7th Gen Malibus comes from. Problems like the timing chain stem from poor oil quality/quantity or terrible air circulation like the engine filter or the solenoid/evap valve! I have a theory that people don’t like these because once you drive them into the ground with no maintenance for 30-60k miles they end up paying a fortune for their own negligence or someone else’s! Thank god I own my beauty of a Chevy & can maintain its life for however long I can make it last! STOP THE HATE ON THE MALIBUS!

I’m the second owner, bought it with 46k miles on it from an old man who I’m sure didn’t rag it and I do the regular maintenance on it. I plan on running it to at least 250k which will take me quit a while considering I only put about 6,500 to 7,000 miles a year on it. 2010 Malibu LS ride quality ifs fine unless you live somewhere with a lots of bumps and pot holes and if you like me you can hit corners like a dream. I tend to round corners kinda fast and hard which is difficult in my mom Traverse 😂😂😂.

09 lt with the 3.6 and 6 spd. Trim inside didnt line up from the lot, dual tail pipes hung uneven,60k and the trans went out (got the recall letter the day i got home from the shop and still havent been reimbursed), bcu out,ecu out, coolant leaks, oil leaks...spent more time on jacks then on the tires.

There's videos that show how to replace the headlight bulbs where you only have to remove a few bolts up top and a couple in the wheel wells. Which keeps you from having to remove the front clip entirely.
