Tried that in alot of my attempts prior to this one lol. Problem is once I get to the dash ring after the springs I don't have my air boost to dash to it and if saves a decent few seconds as well. So here I was forced to do that slower route just so i can have my boost for that dash ring. Tried a lot of attempts and still trying to find out how to have it there too
usually, what I do is stomp after hitting the orange balloons at the end of the lava segment (to refresh my air boost) and hit the spring. simply jumping and using cspear will get you enough height/distance to hit the orange balloons with your air boost intact.
This level was fun to play, even though shadow was never in sonic frontiers to begin with. There’s stuff that sonic team left out in shadow generations including levels from Shadow’s self-titled game and more aliens to battle.
Its the CC glitch. Not sure exactly how it works, but i think if you collect a CC item box while time is stopped, and hold/press it as its ending, itll extend the time stop, and after its over the meter will come back
during the animation of chaos spear, shadow doesn't decelerate at all, so if you spam it well while in the air you'll keep all your momentum without slowing down like usual
curious: would it save just a *little* more time at the beginning of the stage to quickstep to one of the other two platforms that semi-launch you? i'm hyperfixated. oh god.
Yea and if done wrong loses the control U have so U got to be precise with it But in return it basically keeps your momentum absurdly well and lets you go further
@@EnzoZambrottiBecause air drag is a good thing and should be in the game. Though I think in this game it's way too overtuned. It helps because then the designers can make the level more compact and level because you won't be flying across the whole thing and skipping the gameplay.
It'd be less of a big deal if the shorthop was in the game, which in unleashed and gens is just a short jump thst maintains your momentum, at the cost of not going that high
You can kind of negate that by constantly using chaos spear immediately after you jump. You do lose a good amount of air control though so you need to be precise.

@aymenjbaili it's mashing but idk about you but since there's already many buttons to chain together quickly (jump, stomp, chaos snap, chaos spear), choosing where to put your thumb and quickly swapping between them is pretty challenging. I can't tell you how many times I tried to do a spam spear jump and accidentally stomped into oblivion lmao. With practice it'll get easier, but it's a neat trick thst doesn't break the game or ruin it for people wanting the casual tailored experience.
@@FusionComet Ohhhhhh. So throwing the spears themselves actually keep your momentum. Idk why but i vividly remember spears stopping my movement when i used them in the air, but that mightve been vertical momentum so i could be misremembering lol
the fact he can stay focused with the hardcore dubstep in the background makes this more impressive

2:24 You can double jump + boost here to immediately homing attack the balloons and the skip the section, but still a phenomenal run nonetheless

Is there any benefit to mashing chaos spear when in the air? I see a lot of speedrunners do it and I don’t know why
Keeps momentum in the air, basically makes you get flung further

What does firing the chaos spears do? Does it extend air time? Keep Shadow's speed constant or speed him up? Or is it to deal with the enemies?
Keeps your momentum and sends you flying across gaps you normally wouldn't be able to cross

My only problem with the physics is that you slow down when jumping even while boosting

precisely. he does not decelerate during the animation, so he keeps his speed from boost by spamming it.
