This is the best speaker testing between the two phones so far out there. Very good job with the review. You definitely have the most detail i have seen.
Good comparison video. If it were me I think I am going for last years model. Your videos are really good and you are one of my favorite female youtubers.
I would totally go that route as well. The 2021 is good if you wanted a bigger display and being able to use the Ultrawide lens for phots. Thanks for watching.
You are definitely a professional. Great review Motorola has not been honest with me. Tried to buy the 2021 direct and was told it was out of stock and I could have a price lock when it came in to stock. Then they reneged on the deal. They don't care about the customer. And to be sure the only real difference between the 2020 and the 2021 in practicality is simply this; #1) the 2021 as a 6.8 inch screen size, which is great. #2) the Qualcomm 678 processor is a little faster. (Not much) The rest of the differences is of no relative value to the average user. Most people don't use more than a couple of features on any phone they buy. Thank you for a great video review and you have really helped me make up my mind. I'm going to buy the Samsung s21. Cheers
Nice job comparing these phones! More importantly. thank you for reviewing both of these as this was a major question I had. My opinion is that the newer 2021 isn't "better", just slightly different. I actually would purchase the 2020 if I could find one. The 2021 isn't worth the extra $99 if you ask me.
I totally agree with you. In my opinion I would go with the 2020 over the 2021. They are very similar with a few differences sprinkled in. Thanks for watching.
Absolutely agree and I noticed last year's model is also wider, even though not as tall, so maybe the newer one is not all that much larger in effect as width is what counts as you write notes
I wanted the 2020 version, but didn't have the money at the time. Then when I got the money it was temporarily out of stock on Motorola and Target's website, so I settled for the 2021. Then a few days after ordering it I got the notification from Target that it was back in stock. Feels bad man.
@@UnboxerofWorlds Well after looking at few other reviews I came to the conclusion that there wasn't much of a difference between the 2, so I figured the dual speakers of the 2020 version was boon. I had an Axon 7 once and the dual speakers with dolby atmos on that were phenomenal. And unlike the 2020 those were "true" dual speakers.
@@Ok_Eul-Tae As lame as it sounds, I would want the 2020 version for that blue back. It looked crazy! Though I do like the idea of a side mounted fingerprint sensor on the 21.
Exactly. I don't understand why so many say they like it on the side. I'm right handed it and still prefer it on the back. I use my left hand also on a rear scanner.
Motorola seems almost criminal to me the way they sneakily drop features in upgraded phones, spending about the same to make them but charging the customer for 'upgrades'. I'm most upset that both phones don't have the Corning Gorilla Glass anymore that my 2014 2nd Gen had (which also had stereo speakers). So the overly big screen is almost destined to scratch and crack. I would like to meet the genius in marketing who came up with that moneymaker (for them) and thwap them repeatedly on the head with the larger, mono-speaker phone. Until its cheap fragile glass shatters.....
Good video. I don't think the Moto g stylus 2021 is worth spending the money on unless you were in need of a new phone. This it is a good phone. I currently have the Moto g stylus 2020. The down fall for the 2021 is the lack of dual speakers.
Great video! Quick question though, does either screen flicker (utilize PWM) when you turn the brightness way down? To see the flicker you'll need to look at the screen through a camera.
There is the moto sound button in options for G8 Power and Stylus that takes you to Dolby EQ and has all the typical Dolby sound options and it includes most of the options from the 2021 model...
You should mention that the memory on the 2021 can't be internally expanded by a micro SD xc, the micro SD can only act as portable storage ... Learned this the hard way today
You know what , you are absolutely correct, I forgot to add that to the quick settings (good catch). I will have to try out the Moto Audio on the 2020. In my opinion either way the 2020 wins audio. Thanks for watching.
My moto g stylus 2020 is going downhill. It can't even handle 20 apps (not pre-installed) without getting a bit sluggish. It's sad because when i first got my phone, it was beast but sadly it didn't last long. I still have it but it's not a beast anymore
I have s Pixel 4a and need a backup phone. The issue I'm having is that I really miss my wide angle shots from my LG V20. Would you suggest I get the 2021 because the wide angle images can be taken?
The version that I have only supports 1 SIM end a MicroSd. I am not sure if there are two variants of this device that supports dual SIM. Thanks for watching.
4:40.....so they updated the "pen menu" so that it's NOT a box anymore when you pull it out?! If so..... THAT'S GREAT!! (didn't care for the "square" style of it,) lol
I feel the same way, they downgraded the 2021 version when it really didn't need to go that way. So many people loved their 2020 Moto G Stylus and was expecting something GREAT but we got something that was meh. Don't get me wrong, I still think it is a good device but I was expecting a little more out of it. Thanks for watching.
To be honest I didn't notice much stutter using the 2020 but I wasn't doing heavy duty multitasking either. The 2021 seems to do fine for me with watching TH-cam and on social media.
@@SpecTechularGadgets I do bounce around a lot and open up split screen, and a lot of heavy multitasking. The camera was really nice on the 2020. I was thinking the same. They took features away so they could make the 2021 bigger and keep the price down.
