I work on the carrier side of this business and always recommend Motorola. They have the best interoperability of all phones and you simply get better signals and internet speeds. Nobody knows radio communications like Motorola. Their chipsets are absolutely superior. There is a reason Motorola is in every police car and ambulance.
i agree whole heartedly.. Motorola has been around the communication game for DECADES.. cannot say that for some of these other designers
Motorola is so much more user friendly compared to other androids. I've used Samsung, LG, Nord100. None of em come close. The interfaces is just messy. Moto is nice and clean and the moto actions. No other phone or iPhone gots that.

Update on the power model I upgraded to android 11 and now my phone drains the battery, even my wife's stylus phone has longer battery life than my power. Her phone has a 3500 ma battery to my 5000 ma battery. I should have left android 10 on my phone. I don't want or even use the new features. If I knew how to go back I would. Linux phone is the only answer to our phone problems, if the pine phone had a better camera and I'm sure there are other problems needed to be addressed as well.
@@pmf822 yes true but Motorola has good phones in regard of connecting to cell and wifi. I am happy with both of my moto G phones. The stylus is better than the power but with android 10 my power had good battery usage. Not so good on Android 11. New is not always better.
Got 2020 stylus, then got s iphone 12, went back to my 2020 stylus

I bought this phone and i can assure you the image and video quality are both impressive especially in its price point. The build quality and display as usual are also solid, as with previous Motorola phones.

the camera sucks on this phone I have I just accidentally bought this POS just two weeks ago and it's been a headache and Metro PCS service is a POS service also and I am very disappointed with both of these and they should flush their service and this phone down the toilet and make some new stuff and a lot better service

I accidentally stumbled across the motorola phone brand when I upgraded from my samsung galaxy s4. I'm glad I got my Moto g7 play two years ago. It has held up very well. I now absolutely love motorola for it's reasonably priced good quality phones! Samsung was once the same, but the got greedy and became Apple!

I was looking for a new phone because I qualified for an upgrade from stylo 4, boost has this same price as stylo 6 but this has twice the space and 1gb more ram.
I've been running a Stylo 2 (!) for many yearsand it's bee getting a little wonky.
I thought about the LG Stylo 6 but it just doesn't cut the mustard.
So I have the Moto G Stylus on order, alng with a good case and memory card, so wish me luck! 😊
@@dawglog8940 the only thing I miss about Lg is the hold app switcher to multi task, moto handles it so poorly, there's an option where you swipe across the middle of the screen 1 way then the other to activate it. And the android 11 app switcher sucks, but besides that the 4gb of ram is nice

I had the Moto g last year. Frankly I wanted to shoot it. I was going to go with the Samsung a51 but I saw this on the spur of the moment and looking over the specs I decided to go again with a motorola. I bought mine for 179. It redeemed himself over my previous motorola. I'm almost 60 years old and I'm not a tech junkie and so frankly I mainly bought it for the camera and the storage that I didn't have on the other phone. I have not been disappointed. I appreciate this review. By the way, I do have an aviation GPS installed and the screen size is perfect for how I use it in the airplane.
I get why they changed the speaker. You want to keep it a budget phone, and you add new things, you have to take away others so the price doesn't skyrocket. Motorola isn't going to take a profit loss to give us everything. But this is a very good review.
UPDATE.....Have had the Moto G stylus for a few months now. It does lock up on me sometimes. It gives me issues with Google voice, many times with endless loading and not displaying a page, many times I have to reboot the phone.. It's a good phone for the price, but it has its issues.

I would have paid $20 more for dual speakers. I'm just mad because I'm stuck with this phone now, I was led to believe it had stereo. My next phone won't be a Motorola

@@c.rutherford stereo should be standard on everything I had a Huawei mate 9 which only did stereo when you held it horizontally, but I dropped it and it's now dead, went back to my old Nexus 6s and those things crank but suck battery for 10 years old it's quite impressive still
I think you had me with the 6.8" screen in combination with the stylus. I am 73 years old so I don't need the latest and greatest, fancy big name phone! I want to make a grocery list, period. And use the stylus to scroll and click. I don't care about cameras or the number of speakers. The ability to add additional storage with an sd card is also useful. Definitely going to check this phone out. :)

I have also been looking at the other G8 models, but I don't know for sure when they came out.

Appreciate your breakdown. It certainly help me...been looking for a suitable phone for me wife within our budget for a while now.....bigger is better, definitely this one! The fact that it support volte and its 6.8 inches with 128 gb of ram are basic things my wife was looking g for. The stylus is an addition.
Was considering LG stylus 6 or 7, but the uncertainty around the fate of LG phones down the road did not help.

I got the 2020 moto g stylus and I loved it. The charger port recently broke and my insurance is covering reimbursement so I will be getting the upgrade. Its the same price I paid last year. Super excited to get It

I have the older version of this phone and it was awesome until the android 11 update. That update destroyed the battery life of my phone. Will this new version update to 11 as well? It comes stock with Android 10.
I'll stick with my 2020 version of the Motorola G stylus. I really like the speakers on the phone. I know they made the screen bigger, but have they fixed the siding discoloration error in the new model?
Samsung went down on their speaker with I got the s21 super disappointed.

Nobody is comparing a $1,000+ phone with a $300 phone...except the reviewer, they are the only ones. If someone is willing to spend well north of $1,000 for a phone, they are not looking for a cheap phone in any way, shape or form. I really wish reviewers would stop comparing a $1,400 phone with a $300 one and claiming the $300 is not as good. Talk about obvious.
I like the info. It puts into perspective where budget phones stand at in comparison to the overall available phone tech in the industry. It also keeps me updated. But I do agree that they shouldn't say that it's not as good, that's quite obvious and isn't an important point to those of us with a low budget.

Most of us are interested because all of us buy phones for different purposes and uses. So it's good to compare so that if your purpose for buying an expensive phone is 123x and you find out in a review that a $200 dollar phone also has 123x. Then of course the choice would be the $200 phone for more bang for your buck. So I respectfully disagree with you. Just got the Android 11 update for 2020's model yesterday.
Should I switch over to this guys? I have an iphone 7 plus for boost and it's getting a little laggy now and I've replaced the battery and what not. Debating getting this phone or if I should just wait and see what comes out. Lmk what you guys think!

My 2021 Moto g stylus doesn't have some of the features you show. The cameras are configured differently, and the fingerprint reader is on the back with the logo. Did I get an older phone? It still has just the single speaker on the bottom. How can I tell?

I just bought this phone. I was told by my salesman that any camera phone would be a upgrade from my old one since it only has Two back cameras. My old one was the Motorola One Hyper, which is a 64 mp camera. I was really disappointed when I took home my phone and started filming and it was grainy. But your video made me feel better in my purchase knowing that this is one of the better phones and it didn't break my bank.

How fast did the battery drain? Like if you charge to full then how long until say 90%? Overnight or a few minutes of use?
I’m gonna buy it because I’m hoping for the same performance as my moto g7. It’s been very good on battery life I’ve dropped it countless times and it’s even taken a direct hit from a wave at the beach. Love the performance and durability. Hope the styles is the same!

Excellent review. Fair and thorough. I recently purchased an unlocked Moto G Stylus 2021 from Motorola with the 2-year MotoCare protection plan. It replaces an old LG Stylo 2 Plus. In the past, I have owned excellent but expensive Samsung phones and a Google Nexus built by Motorola. I also recently purchased an excellent UAG Scout series military-grade case for my new Moto G Stylus that I am very pleased with. I like this phone very much, because it delivers quite a bit of nice quality across the board, yet is a definite bargain at $299 (or less). It also offered more appeal to me than the LG Stylo 5 and Stylo 6, because of LG's recent indications of its possible withdrawal from the phone market or sale of its phone operation to another company. That would be unfortunate, considering the innovations that LG has brought to the industry table. Of course, a little homework tells anyone interested that Motorola also has a commendable history of industry innovations. Though Motorola's Android updates may be sluggish, I have more concerns and uncertainty regarding the future of updates and support from LG or its heir-apparent successor in the phone market. Thanks.

The actual biggest competitor of this phone is the Pixel 4a. It's only $50 more and receved much more mainstream recognition and praise. And they both feel like the only sub $400 phones worth buying. The Pixel has a better screen, a marginally faster processor and the famous Pixel camera, but personally I'd take the Stylus for its bigger screen and battery, and the stylus itself, that are more relevant factors for me personally.
Agreed. I have the Pixel 3a XL also, but I'm liking the 2021 G Stylus more. It's a huge phone, and noticeably heavier, but worth it! :D
Love my Pixel 3AXL but.... battery life is not good, have to charge during the day and need more memory.
How do I get the TH-cam to open its videos in full screen? When I click on full screen its a small box in the center of the screen and doesn't use all of the screen for video.

ok. i bought the moto g stylus. i like the phone but 1 thing bothers me. i get the message "cant connect to router. check password and try again" yet i can easily connect to my other router. is the problem in phone settings? any advice is appreciated.

Get the Samsung Note 10.. Longer software/firmware/security updates/support. One UI skin is better than Stock Android.
Maybe you can help me. I just bought this phone 2 days ago and it is very nice! But I am having a problem. I have to set the font size to large but then the icons get larger and they bounce all over the place! It's like they are synced together.
Also, I do not see an option to set badge numbers on the app icons. This is driving me crazy! I pray someone can help me.

I bought mine about a week ago I like it a lot except I can't use a SD card on it. I've tried 4 different cards and it wont read any of them. So that somewhat ruins it for me unfortunately.

I have been considering the 2021 Stylus. Currently have a Motorola e5. Have had it a year but checking on the initial release and it was brought out in 2018 I believe so it's time for an upgrade. Plus especially with my new career I'm going to be starting it will help me out with that also. Basically everything I need and not having to pay a hefty amount.

After learning LG Smartphone division is shutting down. I have to find a replacement for my stylo 5. So this one seems a replacement. I need a stylus pen I can't use my fingers on a phone so this is a plus having a pen.

The only thing i don't like it's that there is no NFC on this phone. Is there a suitable alternative? I have the G7 plus and love it. But it won't survive the 4G Volte change over. Looking for a very similar Moto phone.
I have a 1st gen Moto Z Force. It's still an excellent phone to this day, but out of support, and the battery is toast. I like how long they kept giving me OS updates (and I still got a security update a few months ago), but I'm concerned that for a non-flagship phone, they will not do so.
I'm still sporting the Moto X Pure from 2015. This thing is bullet proof and still takes better pictures than most with it's 21 Mp camera. I love this damn phone! I wouldn't even be shopping if I would have bought the 32 GB internal storage instead of the 16 GB.
I had the Moto X Pure 32Gb with the soft back. The soft back pulled away about 3 years later snapping a ribbon cable inside rendering the phone inoperable. I liked the phone until that happened.
it's on sale for 150.00 on boost and after this video i'm totally gonna get this. it's gonna be a BIG upgrade from my samsung galaxy a10e. Especially going from 2gb ram and 32 internal storage to 4gb & 128 internal is a big plus for me
