When I was about 9 years old Avenger cracked an oil pan. Fargo dome. Must have been 1999. Someone recommended my father to weld it. I was expecting to see the Avenger on a trailer coming down the road. But it was the crew and Jim with a handful of tickets, autographed pictures, and t-shirts. Been a fan ever since. Thanked my father over the loud speaker. It was a good time.
Even though it's been shut down for years, the Pontiac Silverdome will always be hallowed ground for monster truck fans

@RAGE 2001 Most likely, It was one of the most famous events back then if I remember correctly.
Bob Chandler wrote the book on monster trucks. Dennis Anderson burned it to the ground. Jim Koehler and Tom Meents got into a friendly competition of who could fly it the highest.

Jim has always been one of my all time favorite drivers
The fact that original truck is still around, although not competing anymore, it at least ran in Monster Jam until 2017, 20 years old, shows Jim's masterful design and craftsmanship.

Many will remember the Silverdome for the Lions.
I personally will always remember the Silverdome as the birthplace of Monster Trucks.
The Monster Jam event they had there in 2006 was one of the best non-World Finals events ever.
I'm going to miss the building, the end of an era.

Jim is probably one of the nicest monster truck drivers you ever me just a very down to earth guy in a very honest with his driving and when I met him at his Rutherford this year it was amazing I made it seem very nice you know I told him I like to driving so he said he knows the way to keep in business with driving miles from trucks

So good to hear that the original "AVENGER" truck is gonna make a come back. Saw it once years ago in Minneapolis at the metrodome. Would absolutely love to see it again

As a fan since the motorsport started..im always their in spirit when I cant attend the show...I cannot imagine tryn to give up the drivers seat bcus age. im lost for words.

My uncle took me here when is was really young in 2006. I was visiting family in Michigan so he took my to this. My first ever live monster jam and I remember it like it was yesterday

Any video of it gets removed off the platform by Ozzy himself which is why they've had to tune it whenever it gets uploaded.
